That would be my Grandma May - She played in an old Skiffle/Rag band in 50's Bristol but this has to be the highlight of her career!! She wrote the keyboard solo herself and "that laugh" was genuine!!! I'm sure she is up there with Phil now - terrorising him! God bless you Grandma May... p.s. Found your big dangly earring behind the sofa.... -x-
Only Lizzy and Phil Lynott have the humility to bring a beautiful senior citizen into one of their videos. Philip was a genius....R.I.P. Philip, Phyllis💛🎸🙏🎶
Lizzy were always game for anything. Some bands wouldn't have done such a thing. Awesome indeed. Lizzy also worked with her in advance so that she had her own small keyboard part.
@951Alpha In 1982, a 70-year-old English granny named May Booker wrote a letter to the BBC about her favorite band, and how nice it would be to play with them. Then this happened.
The Emotion, feel and Charisma is mind blowing! I wish I had the chance to see Thin Lizzy Live with Lynott Fronting. shame i'm 22 :( This music will never be forgotten :)
Wish I could give this lovely lady a hug and be graced by her elegantly hip presence. She knows how to kick it with the boys for sure! Great rock classic, before Sunset Blvd hair metal cheesed everything out for a while. Its refreshing to come across a clip like this and see ego take a back seat to music, and fun!
I could watch this a thousand times. He never had to "become" a perfomer, he WAS a born performance poet you just want to watch and listen to. And the Great Lady on keyboards wa salmost in a state of loving grace, supporting the band. Beautiful! Never see anything like that these days.
An ex gf of mine named meraid from the early nineties, her father, used to deliever mail on phils street, she lived about four streets over. Said he was really tall, and really quiet just said hi when u said hi to him and was very friendly, typical irish bloke with no pretense. God love is mother, u could see how much she loved phillip, and how much she still misses him, and the fans who miss him so much as well. One of the top 10 greatest great britain bands of all time.
...second to none...!...such a great performer/songwriter/storyteller and confident enough to bring a grandma on stage...Phil,one of the greatest ever..!
Man I love these guys. I was in a band who covered about ten of their songs back in the 70s-early 80s. I was fortunate to see them on back-to-back nights at the Calgary(Canada) Jubilee Auditorium in 1977 backing up Queen. I was seated in the 4th row the first night and the 9th row the second night. First night was good, second night was amazing. Never forget those shows even though it was over 40 years ago. At the time Brian Robertson had cut his hand (at least that was the release) and they had to replace him for the tour. I was disappointed to hear it, but the guitarist (who I had never heard of at the time) was amazing. It was Gary Moore.
I don't know you Grandma May, but I will always remember you! Now that is power yeah shows we can change the garbage that is Hollywood. God bless you 😇❣️❣️
Best rock Band ever....anni 60/70/80, i thin Lizzy una spanna sopra tutti gli altri....subito dopo venivano i led Zeppelin, Deep purple, black sabbath ecc ecc ma... ai livelli dei thin Lizzy nessuno
Also, a buddy of mine who is 14 yrs my sr that I golf with is a native So Californian, and he saw them all back in the day, and 2 bands that stand out to him when he thinks back to those early and mid 70s concerts were the performances of Thin Lizzy and Lynard Skynard, who he saw with The Who, and he said Skynard was the tightest band he'd ever seen. He also went to Cal Jam 1, and forty years later he and I saw Black Sabbath together, with great seats, and Sabbath can "STILL" kill it IMO!
wow..the host said something like.."do you think senior citizens should be in rock bands?" The Stones and countless others are all now OLDER then this lady...This guys prophecy came to be man!..
This is absolutely fantastic. Pure joy in this lineup with the guest, but her playing and solo truly belies her appearance- she had the skills to be part of their band any time!
The host says, There shoud be senior citizen bands... Well, I'd say at least HALF of the bands touring the classic rock circuit today fit that category! LOL
Was this Jim'll fix it. The old girl is totally unphased, brilliant; thank God for Thin Lizzy, the Irish, Rock Music and You Tube for showing these kind of Videos. " I actually wrote the first line as a joke, then OMG it was Jim'll fix it. Jimmy will be rockin in heaven with Phil and Gary. God bless em all.

hey bud - can you tell us how she came to make this magnificent video , thanks ...as i am sure lots of us lizzy fans would be keen to know .
Brilliant stuff from Grandma May. Always wondered who she was. Great playing. Do know anymore about her playing here..?
Only Lizzy and Phil Lynott have the humility to bring a beautiful senior citizen into one of their videos. Philip was a genius....R.I.P. Philip, Phyllis💛🎸🙏🎶
I believe this was an episode of Jim'lFix it. Her grown children arranged this.
She was killing it
Grandma on the keys, how awesome is that? Lizzy!
Lizzy were always game for anything. Some bands wouldn't have done such a thing. Awesome indeed. Lizzy also worked with her in advance so that she had her own small keyboard part.
I was at a gig in Brum when the kid that had played sax on jimlfixit came on n place of john earl on saxaphone
@951Alpha In 1982, a 70-year-old English granny named May Booker wrote a letter to the BBC about her favorite band, and how nice it would be to play with them. Then this happened.
The best band the world has ever known!!
100% agree, Phil & Gary Moore are my childhood
@Batphink Reynolds o melhor é Thin Lizzy !!!!
Do you know how many times I've said what you said to people who 'think' they know music? Lizzy RULES!!!!!!!!!!
Thin Lizzy, Bad Reputation Tour 1978, San Francisco, Ca.
I'm not arguing.
Mrs. Doubfire on keyboard really rocks!!

HELLLLOOOOOOO!!!!
1:42 - Tears on my eyes, indeed. This keyboard solo is so beautiful and sweet! 💜
Just beautiful. And in the words of Terry Silver himself "Perfect"
You see Phil at the end of the video giving the older lady her due respect.
That older lady is his mother!!!
I watch this video sometimes to brighten up my day.
The Emotion, feel and Charisma is mind blowing! I wish I had the chance to see Thin Lizzy Live with Lynott Fronting. shame i'm 22 :( This music will never be forgotten :)

that old lady can jam
That is so freakin COOL of the band to let her play with them on that song. I love it!
I remember watching this on TV that night (I had just bought the single). I love how when she finishes her solo Phil looks back and gives her a smile.
Grandma May's keyboard work would also sound great on ''Angel of Death''. Great performance here....
this just goes to show you...good music knows no age barrier!
fukin Phil was a class act
better believe it the fekkin real deal alright!
the one an only man , guy just had natural swagger as we say in scotland the guy was 'gallus' as fuck

Lion in horoscope, master of the theater😊
What class Phil had. Excellent.

I don't know you Grandma May, but I will always remember you! Now that is power yeah shows we can change the garbage that is Hollywood. God bless you 😇❣️❣️
Phil Lynott was Rock n Roll from start to finish. A Rock Titan.
Best rock Band ever....anni 60/70/80, i thin Lizzy una spanna sopra tutti gli altri....subito dopo venivano i led Zeppelin, Deep purple, black sabbath ecc ecc ma... ai livelli dei thin Lizzy nessuno
Phil like no other. The man had his own swagger and style. You know it when other people try singing his songs. Hard act to follow.
I think Black Star Riders is pretty damn good thing
No kidding. He was quite the man.
Yea, and Ricky Warwick can't do it
Has anyone besides me noticed that Brian Downey is a phenomenal drummer?
Many. Mikkey Dee took his style from him just made it faster.
I like Mickey Dee especially his work on Don Dokken’s solo album
Brian Downey is still better than Mickey Dee
Downey continues to knock me on my ass. He's one of those rare drummers that I can't enough of.
He was one of my favorites growing up. Him, Peart, Aldridge, Bonzo, Paice and Jimmy Ayoub from Mahogany Rush, just to name a fee. Loved Brian Downey!
Good hearted man Philo ❤
Rock and Roll is full of surprises, go granny go...!!!
Thin Lizzy was Legend!!
That is soooooo sweet, precious and cool. Grandma May and Thin Lizzy both rocked!!!
one of their best singles , should've been a top 5 pop pickers
Also, a buddy of mine who is 14 yrs my sr that I golf with is a native So Californian, and he saw them all back in the day, and 2 bands that stand out to him when he thinks back to those early and mid 70s concerts were the performances of Thin Lizzy and Lynard Skynard, who he saw with The Who, and he said Skynard was the tightest band he'd ever seen. This one is the best video of all time. Seniorcitizen that rock! Love it!!

Did Phil ever sing the same lyrics to this song on any two performances ? LOL
What a great gesture to invite this old woman. The Lizzy boys know to have fun!
Brilliant philo giving a cameo and few pounds to an new musician on keyboard 🙂 What a Legend
Phil was the coolest black dude in Irish history, a man who was born to be a star. I can only imagine how proud is lovely mum must have been

"I see that you've got some plunder there" - Dusty Rhodes would be proud...
Was this Jim'll fix it. The old girl is totally unphased, brilliant; thank God for Thin Lizzy, the Irish, Rock Music and You Tube for showing these kind of Videos.
