No, the maintenance is straightforward. The engine is no different to any other, just bigger. I have written a maintenance manual that is available from my website marksmotorcycleparts.co.uk. Doing the valve clearances takes 1.5 times as long as on a four though.... Never tried a 'Wing, but those that have say a cruiser turned tourer, whereas the K16 is a sportbike turned tourer. That fits my own psyche pretty well so I'm happy with my choice.
As a K1600GT rider myself, I agree with everything said in this video. I also picked up Mark’s maintenance guide for it. SUPERB guide! Covers everything I’m comfortable doing in my garage. If it’s not in the guide, you are going to want to take it into the dealership. My own opinion on the Goldwing is that it’s a great touring bike, but comes up short in the sporty side of riding. I tried one after a had my K for a while and I kept grinding the pegs and wanting all that wonderful torque.
Probably one of the finest bikes in the world. Great two up bike. Can't think of another bike that would make me sell mine.
