This was like a 10 minute flashback to my weeks in night training at Ft. Rucker a couple decades ago. It's cool to see a good game training video that is also relevant to the real world. Great stuff, as usual!

I wonder if he will do more infantry videos. I liked the ones back in the day w/ narrative. Sort of play-by-play action and explanation of tactics. Either way, I enjoy almost everything this guy produces.

It might only be a video game, but low level flying in such darkness is white knuckle stuff in comparison dropping in and out of lit airports.
Great to see another addition to the art of flight series! On another note Dslyecxi, do you have any thoughts on the sensor overhaul which is currently being developed for the Jet DLC? I wasn't too interested in BI's planned Jet DLC until I read the sensor overhaul thread (goo.gl/GyaeAV) which will affect helicopters and tanks as well as fixed-wings.
I haven't been paying much attention to A3 developments lately, so I don't have an opinion on that as I haven't read much about it.

Dslyecxi, have you taken any measures to shield Shacktac from the current Arma 3 memory leak?
The problem is masked, not fixed. It still occurs.

I do not understand the need to make night vision worse... the game is set in the future and I feel like night vision would be a lot better?

Worst decision made. (even though they saved a lot of money adding fake stuff instead of licensed brands)
The scenarios we play are typically modern-day or earlier.
Physics isn't worse and won't become a lot better.
+WolfWhisky - Arma is a platform. The fact that they chose to make it 30 minutes in the future means nothing to me. You can play that boring interpretation of future war all you want, and we'll be over here playing something much more interesting instead.
...and all of this is everyone opinion so no one is wrong and no one is right...I think ARMA is what you make it, and if you judge someone on how they play or what time period then you kind of need to grow up.
Any new sound mods coming to Arma 3 soon? Is JSRS any good? I dont see anyone using it when it comes to the youtubers.
The default Arma 3 sounds makes Arma 2 sounds sound epic in comaparison even though JSRS took it from arcade to immersive.
The default Arma 3 sounds make gunfights sound like there are 2 teams. One team uses typewriters as weapons and the other team use popcorn machines. You could really not tell that people where using weapon. Really a immersion breaker for me.
Check out DynaSound and Enhanced Soundscape by Laxemann. Although I used to really enjoy JSRS back in Arma 2, it does not come close to Laxemann's work for Arma 3.
What do you use to fly?

It's unreleased - it's being integrated into ACE3 currently and should be out soon.
As said in the video. It is donated to the ACE3 team, and will most likely be implemented into a future ACE release.

*Heli Pilot-Ok, visibility is much lower then anticipated, we're 5 mikes out from south-east, anyone can pop a ground flair or lit up a truck to help with landing?
*Soldier-We will pop a flair by the tree line 100m west of our position when we hear your approach, flashlight will show our exact position to land closer. Be advised, hill with land lines in your direction, scout report that enemy is closing in.
*Heli Pilot-Roger, thanks for the heads-up, going fast.
#Some time later
*Soldier-We hear a helicopter, popping flair, please confirm flashlight visual within 10 seconds or we must change location.
*Heli Pilot-I see it, i see a flashlight 100m east, please blink 4 to confirm.
#Soldier flashes 4 times
*Heli Pilot- Heads down, get ready, down in 10!
#A moment later... Heli lands, soldiers embark and flies off, and get's soldiers home safely.
