The only thing I've seen as a result of increased diversity in politics is an increase in uncivility and nastiness, and an elected body that can't seem to work together if their lives depended on it. "Diversity is our strength" made sense when the country was being built, but we've been built for quite awhile now.
I think this is a very astute observation. It really deserves thinking about.
