good video and i think the first i’ve seen that mentioned gus’ recent video about exaggerated illnesses. no one has mentioned that sven (his brother) posted one around the same time, specifically talking about faking illnesses and exaggerated internal bleeding as well, which is so gross considering everything lol
people want to defend gus and that’s their prerogative but even his best friend is now his ex-best friend, he knows a lot more than any of us do about what happened and he chose to cut him off. that says a lot to me but w.e I guess, i’m just interested in the drama

(nowhere near as bad as gus obviously)that I did every day, but there is nothing I can do except move on and be better. I can’t really tell you that most men are very nice people, but from experience, I can tell you that men are usually ridiculed for expressing their emotions, so because of that, they never get the help they need for fear of being made fun of and ridiculed. I hope this kind of answers the question to why many men are toxic, none of these experiences justify being a dick at all though.

I was a fan of both Gus and Sabrina so I watched Sabrina's video about her etopic pregnancy pretty early on, and even without digging I had a strong feeling that she was talking about Gus, but I wanted to respect her decision to keep Gus' identity anonymous in her video so I tried not to speculate too much about it. Even then I felt hesitant to support Gus any further not only because he may have done a horrific thing, but also because he made videos where he spoke out against abusive people (and in his Chris Brown video even shamed people who continued to work with known abusers) and that persona that he was a pretty good stand up guy was either entirely fake or dude is a massive hypocrite. And I was a fool who took pretty bare-minimum gestures and went "wow what a cool funny dude." Either way my sense betrayl as a former fan doesn't come close to what Sabrina went through and I'm not going to support him whether or not he gives a genuine apology to the fans, especially if Sabrina doesn't get one first.

Gus was a really big personality for me, along with Eddy Burback. Loved their podcast together, loved all of Gus's content, his own and others projects he was on and everything. When the news came out it changed my opinion of him completely. Was really hard to believe such a down-to-earth seeming guy could be this way off screen. I'm really glad to see Eddy and Sabrina doing well still and I hope they continue to thrive as they should. Sabrina is incredibly brave for sharing this, and I wish her all the best with both her health and CZcams career!

Great video and great job pointing out his previous content that seemed to criticize people who are abusive towards women. I pray that both parties heal and grow from the situation, but this does put my perspective of him in a negative light.
Really disappointed to hear about this, Gus was my favourite comedy CZcamsr. I can't "separate the art from the artist" when the thing that made his skits great was him seeming to be such a wholesome and fun guy, now that I know he's not they just leave a bad taste.

Agreed. Gus to me felt like, an escape from the rest of the internet in a way. He seemed like a nice, down to earth, funny CZcamsr, he even was one of my favorites. To learn about this is really shocking, and has made me lose a ton of respect for him.
Not to mention that his Twitter apology was basically a written version of his video mocking celebrity apologies.

If Gus was a writer for somebody else's channel, I could still watch that channel. But his face, personality, and performance are intrinsic to his content..
His recent videos have been really repetitive, playing a drunk southern. I'm starting to think Sabrina was the real brains behind his skits and now he's just trying to make it on his own.

Shout out to you making this short, sweet, and to the point. I wanted to know since Gus always seemed cool until suddenly he wasn’t, but my usual sources of CZcams drama/news haven’t said anything, and I like having a quick info dump.
I'll be the one to post the PSA: if you have an ectopic pregnancy, you pretty much have to get an abortion. It's not okay to tell someone they need to get one for your career, and I don't know their timeline or conversations, so I am not sticking up for Gus, but not enough people realize that an ectopic pregnancy is something that can just happen by chance and which means the baby cannot possibly make it to term. So, it's quite possible she did end up needing an abortion to prevent her own death (the alternative being she miscarried naturally first, which is also awful but sometimes just doesn't happen), and it's absolutely vital that people have the right to do so.
I mean, she nearly died cause she was bleeding internally from her ruptured fallopian tube if memory serves correctly. She was bleeding out of that rupture for five days and it was a miracle that she was still alive and able to get to the hospital in the first place. Her case is like,, worst-case scenario for an ectopic pregnancy.
and during those five days neither the doctors nor Gus took her pain and symptoms seriously. He didn't even go to the hospital with her, instead went out for drinks and food after work with the people he works with, knowing his girlfriend is alone in the hospital and went there because of the immense pain she's experiencing. It's kinda hard to defend him
Ectopic pregnancies are NEVER viable. It’s a fertilized egg in the fallopian tube. The only option is to remove it.

Great video! This is exactly why you shouldn’t trust anybody’s internet persona. You don’t know who they are outside of their content. Somebody who seems “wholesome” or whatever (I don’t believe that grown adults are “wholesome”) could be the most sinister bastard offline. Also, I think it’s weird that people are immediately jumping to defend this man when they don’t know anything. Then again, it’s mostly just men who know nothing about pregnancy, abuse or abortions being on the front lines for this dude. Gus Johnson will be fine. There’s no reason to “protect” him.
I don't really think it was an "internet persona" if his real life friends were duped and lied to as well. With Eddy publicly stating in a stream that there won't be anymore podcast episodes due to his trust in Gus being completely broken, suggests the "wholesome character" was thought to be more than that…at one point in time (actually now that I think about it they were never really wholesome as they swear and drink alcohol and just be dudes being guys being friends)

I wanted Gus to handle this well so badly. I do feel some amount of empathy towards him, as in I don't think the situation was necessarily the best for either party, it really sucks to see him do so little to hold himself accountable. Just to be clear, Sabrina is 1000% the victim, not the abuser. I just wanted to believe Gus' actions were a result of some kind of distress or immaturity and that he would grow as things settled down, but I don't think I can realistically subscribe to that idea anymore :(

He’s shown remorse definitely. I mean he was gone for nearly half a year and his apologies seemed to be sincere. He also says in his apologies it was about his immaturity. I don’t think he handled it badly, not to take a side, but I think people won’t give him another chance. I don’t know what he could have done to handle this better. Whether he deserves another chance is up to the viewer, but you cannot blame it on him not handling the situation well. I honestly don’t know if he should be given a second chance, he did some really and stuff.

I was just binging his older clips the other day and I had no idea this even happened til I saw a recommended video of Eddy Burback about an hour ago saying he can’t trust Gus anymore, refusing to elaborate any further. This is absolutely horrible; I really did like Gus, but there’s no reason for me to devote any more attention to him than I already have.

The fact that neither Sabrina, Gus or even Eddy have released any “My truth” video or anything of the such kind of shows that they’re not trying to milk this drama for clout.

I'm not an expert on Eddy Burback, and Abelina Sabrina and his friends' histories, but I am sad how a once pure friendship these guys had with Gus are broken. Their friendship and group participation were what made Gus' early sketch video so good.

So there is a problem with this controversy. She has been caught in lies on talks show and even Gus's tweets about a lot of it. She told everyone that they didn't go to therapy and when his brought out receipts and documents for it she started attacking his character and things that were sai in private at said therapy she claimed they never went too. The situation is clearly not a great or ok situation but the fact that facts haven't added up and friends of his who distance themselves have started to come back to him and have expressed that they were extraordinarily uncomfortable because of how she came to them demanding he be abandoned shows that there is a lot of hidden agenda and other issues there on both sides. This type of situation should be dealt with between the two involved parties and it being dragged into light like this shows a desire to hurt and harm not to heal.
Show proof for any of that? none of this changes how abusive he was towards her throughout and to this day two of his biggest associates haven't collabed with him at all since that incident.

wow, this is great, so quick to the point
1. Gus Johnson is still relevant AF, he's just recently been contracted by Comedy Central to write and create media for them... pretty damn relevant. The reason he's no longer making CZcams as much is because he's busy creating programming for a major national network.
2. You can't "Force someone to get an abortion" if they have an ectopic pregnancy. An ectoptic pregnancy BY DEFINITION is a non-viable pregnancy. "Ectopic" means the fetus formed OUTSIDE the uterus. The ONLY survivable treatment for the mom is an abortion.... but it's not truly considered an abortion because to be "aborted" a fetus has to be inside the uterus, and typically alive. Rather, its considered a life saving operation for mom and the "baby" at that point is smaller than a pea and has already been killed by administration of methotrexate... because if it grows bigger than a pea ectopically it will kill the mom. Trust me... this is something I know a lot about.
3. If the relationship was already over, and gus goes out with business partners instead of accompanying her to the hospital for her operation, I mean... shit gets messy in the grown up world. Kids have this idylllic view of life like everything is always perfect and they're morally perfect and so anyone that does ANYTHNG even slightly fucked up is a monster.... uh huh... wait til your 30. It'll come sooner than you think. You'll realize REAL QUICK that the world isn't perfect and neither are you. But it's easy to judge everyone else when all you have to do is go to school every day, live under mommy's roof and eat the food daddy buys you and you're not responsible for anything... Well, add 10 years, a wife and kids, a 45/hour per week job to provide for your whole family while being inundated by utility and credit card bills in a failing economy,... lets see how morally perfect you are then... (if you're not already a raving alcoholic)
Adult life is hard... so maybe don't be so judgy-wudgy of every goddamn thing because you're 14 and have ZERO CLUE how real life works yet, and have literally never had any responsibility beyond "dp your homework" or "take out the trash, its thursday!"
So in summary, her ex-boyfriend is on the up-and-up, she has an unfortunate medical event that lasted about a month, and decided since he wasn't around thats not good enough and made a slam piece video because everyone is a litgeous turd nowadays and "you cant have something nice if I cant have it too!"

How can I say this? I don't care. I'm not even a fan of Gus, not a fan of Eddy, or really anyone related to Gus but I just don't care. This whole situation seems like a complicated mess that should've just been resolved between Gus and Sabrina.

I've never been the type to be up to date with online news and such. So I only like just today learned about this. And it's crushing to learn about. Gus Johnson to me felt like one of the few genuinely wholesome CZcamsrs, so it's really shocking to learn the behind the scenes. I've lost an immense amount of respect for Gus. It just goes to show you can't always trust CZcamsrs, no matter how nice or wholesome they may seem.

This is such a hard topic cuz I feel he could be sincere in some things (he says he’s gone to therapy and idk why not to believe that, and I 100% think counseling can cause huge improvements and rehabilitate abusive people) and I feel like abelina not accepting his apology is more personal and I can accept his apology IF he actually made one to his audience like you pointed out.
