Although I somewhat agree with this list, I would say that Xigbar was perhaps the hardest boss for my entire family, we would spend days trying to come up with methods to defeat him, using forms, using limits to no avail, but one day I just beat him out of pure luck, a boss that I think gets everyone on their first go around.
I agree, what with his teleporting and tracking, along with Xaldin. I remember not understanding how his reaction command worked by blocking to get jump, so it was a very rough fight. After I get done with the super bosses one, I'll come back and do a "commenters edition", doing one for the other bosses that deserve to be on here to that didn't make the cut 💜- (yes its purple because of darkness being purple in KH 😂)
Well, Xigbar is basically just blocking projectiles, same for the data. Xaldin is a different level for sure, his Data version is pretty rough on Critical.
Yeah, his DM is what catches people off guard so much. He's chill and even announces himself with "arc reload!". Then all of a sudden it's time to crank it to 11 for the DM. He's a beast 😂
Want to know what hardest boss in any Kingdom Hearts game that keeps killing me? Is it Sephiroth? No Is it Lingering Will? No Is it Data XIII battles? No Is it Yozora? No It’s the Anti Black Coat Nightmare in Dream Drop Distance that is the hardest for me.
lol apparently there are a few who had trouble with him. I don't know if I always get lucky, but I have always been able to beat him. I think I died once to him because I forgot about him and let the cutscene play while i got some food 😂 BUTTT he can hit like a truck and his portal on the ground can be annoying
I think the three most difficult bosses I have faced in my time of playing Kingdom Hearts have to be Mysterious Figure from BBS, Luxord in KH3 Re:Mind and Phantom Aqua (All Zodiac Chests Collected) in BBS: A Fragmentary Passage.
I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t have a lot of trouble with Demyx. My first big roadblock was Xaldin at Beasts Castle. Him and his damn teleportation in his second phase made Swiss cheese of me, even with Mickey’s help. Xaldin spams his DM and teleports more than Demyx does with his water clones!
@@sodaleopard I think it's just because of xaldins reaction command jump that he's easy- even as a kid I could get 3 or 4 and whittle his hp that way. And the first time I beat him because I accidentally cheesed with limits 😅🤣 whoops. Demyx on the other hand doesn't have a very abusable reaction command. What I mean is with xaldins, you can stack up to 9 jumps and melt most of his HP in one sitting.
A lot of people seem to struggle with xaldin but if u use summons like stitch or Peter Pan and drive forms like master or limit he can be taken down pretty fast
@@GlacierHades Even with those jump commands, I could only get like 4-5 in before Xaldin guts me like a trout. Keep in mind this was standard I was playing on.
You could honestly fill this list with just KH1 bosses. Decades later, I can still recite the cutscenes for every Hollow Bastion boss fight based on how many times I died
the worst part about demyx is that everything JRPGs teach you tells you that lightning magic is what you need to fight him but water magic doesn't exist until 3, so his attacks are considered Blizzard, so he's weak to fire which counters all video game logic
Yeah, especially if you've played FF games lol Like Lulu saying "this fiends a water fiend, so its weak to lightning". Uhhh, Square, you made both games right? lol
That has got be one of the worst placements fight in the KH series. I would usually die because of those spike heartless. For Demyx that may help is using stitch and when the does that wall move you can use the thunder
@@GlacierHades Demyx is not THAT hard if you use alternate strategies. Stuff like the Teamwork limit with Goofy are pretty useful and then it is really only down to beating the Water assholes in time.
@@Cetra29 that's true- but on ps2 it was 10 seconds not 15, and following final fantasy logic I always tried to use lighting. In kh2 his element is classified as blizzard, so he's actually weak to fire. Didn't know that for years 😳 lol so yeah, I just failed as a kid 😅
Yeah, he'll be put up on round two.... lol If we asked most kingdom hearts fans to quote a single cutscene and compiled the data, it'd most likely be this one from all the resets lol
@@lilsp2647 it really just depends on playstyle lol some do, some don't. It's always fun to watch streams because the one boss we all think they will struggle on, they wipe first try. Yet the simple boss will take a dozen attempts 😅 just funny to me
I remember being stuck on Ansem/Riku in Kingdom Hearts 1 for MONTHS. I have that entire cutscene before the fight (remember, skip scene was not introduced until Kingdom Hearts 2) ingrained into my memory. Upon every repeat playthrough, I have only had one run where I did not die to him at all, but I make sure to never skip that scene in memory of my struggle with it.
Even better, the first time my brother and I played KH1 we didn't know English yet (we're Spanish), but we still learnt the whole sequence by heart. Freaking Ansem
I remember Xemnas on critical about 5 years ago and it was by far extremely hard but extremely gratifying as well. I still think KH2 is the best KH game. Also Xigbar was giving me a very hard time I was having no real issue with bosses up to him and since I knew no mechanics for him and if I missed two or three reflects I was dead. Good times haha
Xemnas imo is still one of the better final boss fights in terms of mechanics in the series- the reaction commands are a huge part of that which is why I'm hype they are making a return in KH4 (judging from the trailer). Xigbar is a hit and a miss at times for people- I've watched streamers one off him, and others dam near quit over him. If I was to make a #2 to this video ("comments edition" if you would- hint hint 😂) I would have him on it. Personally, I don't remember my fight against him the first time that much so I can only assume he didn't give me as much trouble. Xemnas made this cut because he WAS a roadblock for me. I had the game for a week rental and I got stuck on him, to the point it was return time 😂 So I ended up buying it 1. Because it's a great game and even 12-year-old me knew that and 2. To beat Xemnas. Worth it all the way
@@GlacierHades I'm just replaying 1,2,bbs, and ddd then 3. Well never played 3 yet cause I bought it on sale and forgot about it haha. Im playing bbs this week then 3. I sort of forget bbs besides the ending. Anyway I also forgot about the data versions of the organization 13 bosses, I want on my lvl99 crit save to try them again and I still have yet to kill them all. Also no com cause I can't stand it.
Finished KH2 for the first time on Crit just a few days ago and can also confirm Xemnas was a really tough boss fight. Also I agree on Crit Xigbar is a different kind of monster and I took hours trying to beat that guy. Xigbar, Xemnas & Roxas were the only storyline Organisation 13 bosses I had a really tough time with, the rest were fine (Xaldin was ok-ish, Luxord, Saix and Demyx I breezed through)
@@natosomething3690 same for me, I loved the Roxas fight cause it took me the longest to beat and was so awesome to get passed. It's cool talking kingdom hearts with you cause my irl friends don't know anything about it. Lol I look forward to playing 3 on crit and see if it has memorable fights. I also heard playing on crit isn't nearly as hard as kh2 was. I will see though.
Yeah, I was always short on his second one with kill 10 in 15 seconds. Or he'd just straight up combo me to death. I love how in KH3 they say he's a backup like he's weak. 😂 like "what"
@@GlacierHades Demyx is my second favorite Org XIII member just because of how tragic of a character he was (if you played/watched Days story) Guy didnt want to fight and was forced to go all out. Which is why i respect him so much and honestly even with him being the weakest Org member his fight was probably the 2nd hardest in the game for me just behind Xaldin.
The Xigbar fight in kh2 nearly gave me trauma man I had to fight that guy at least 30-40 times?? Idk but it was definitely under 50. That damn desperation move was hard for me to dodge even with all his abilities maxed out so I just couldn’t figure it out 😭 I had tears streaming down my face like damn I just wanna see riku with the gang again. Xaldin had me sweating but he was nothing compared to Xig.
@@lilsp2647 yeah I made sure I had everything leveled up to the highest it could. Since I was at level 81 I thought I'd be okay but that desperation move really humbles a person
I remember on my first play through I got stuck on Roxas, beat him, then got stuck on xigbar and I was so ready to put the game down but I didn’t and now I can beat data roxas fairly easily so I doubt I’d struggle on xigbar
I cheese the hell out of Roxas because using Blizzard on your second Combo Finisher negates his counter-attack. You can get up to FIVE full combos on him with that, maybe up to seven if you're lucky.
Ursula I did beat on try 1 but everything else was 10000% accurate especially Xemnas because I didn’t understand that X needed to be clicked as well as triangle for like 50 attempts 😅
Not gonna lie, I beat Young Xehanort on my first try simply because I was so freaking scared that his boss fight would be his Birth by Sleep counterpart and thank goodness it's not.
Another thing with Demyx is that he is the first major Org. 13 battle where you have Drive forms, and players might not know that bosses, but especially Org. 13 fights increase the chance to trigger Anti Form, and they believe they have a few more transformations to use Drive before triggering it. And getting stuck in it, waiting for it to time out
Ooooffff, biggeth true lol It is such a good mechanic to avoid drive abuse too. And surprisingly in a few of the org fights, can actually help due to its long combos. But yeah, 95% of the time you just gonna die 😂
I remember getting anti form twice in a row before getting wisdom form on Demyx (I literally counted consistent numbers from each failed attempt like I was operating on a soulsborne pattern)
I can attest to this. I've triggered Anti Form against Xigbar, Saïx and -Larxene- _ahem_ *_Pika-Bitch_* and only TWICE have I managed to defeat Org. XIII members with that. Anti-Form is literally do or die, and if you can control that, your opponents have one hell of a beatdown coming.
Quick tip to anyone who struggles with the Riku portion of Final Xemnas: You can easily do it, if you shoot some energy balls at the clone, then walk a couple steps, shoot again, walk again, and so on. Also that part is actually skippable. You see, Xemnas will teleport in front of Sora, shoot at him, and if you get hit, you enter the Riku portion. If you dodge or use reflect, you can completely skip it, though the timing is not easy.
@@GlacierHades Exactly. Xemnas was the last Data Boss I defeated on Critical Mode, because of the Riku part. I must've watched/read at least 10-15 different guides, until one mentioned how to easily do that part. So yeah, I hope someone sees this and it helps them.
I ALWAYS do Wonderland after deep jungle because not only are the levels helpful at not dying to the cards, but the long keyblade lets me cheese Trickmaster. Those two bosses took me a day and a half to beat my first time.... On normal
That's fair. And good thinking on the keyblade aspect. I almost never do jungle before, so I hadn't really thought of the longer key. It does make the jump cheese strat way easier for trickmaster. I like it 😁
Riku/Ansem… I will always be Riku/Ansem Ever since I was struggling to beat Riku on the isles and after he turned evil I knew he was going to be the toughest battle I was going to have. And boy was I right…
Not sure if I overheard it, but in the Vanitas fight you can "trigger" that collision by R3 "lock shotting" him by dashing towards him. Died like 20 times prior xd
I almost beat Ansem on my first try when playing kh1 on my old ps2. I died while rescuing Goofy and was so scared I'd have to do the entire fight all over again lmao. Was so relieved it had checkpoints.
IMAGINE! NO CHECKPOINTS- YOU LOSE, GOOD DAY SIR! lol like if they did that, pretty sure many of us would still be trying today 😂I've always been an ass and never saved them lol payback for Donald's heals
Now I didn’t lose to luxord the first but the data fight took me 20 straight tries to beat because I kept messing up his final attack. At least now I can perfectly quote “Look who’s on top of the game” every time I fight him
Dude, yes. His Data DM is insane. I never got to play the PS2 final mix, and thus all I've ever played is the PS3/4 version. Since its higher FPS, it makes it ludicrous speed (bonus points if you get that reference lol) That quote is still one of my faves from the organization members.
6:22 I'm actually still stuck on this to this day,but unfortunately I lost my memory card that had the final boss on it and never found that memory card,so I would have to start the game all over again, but I'll never forget how hard this boss is,but back when before I lost my memory card,my best friend had to help me with this fight and even she couldn't beat him,we always came close but nope we always lost in the end or in the middle, also fun fact,I actually met xemnas's english voice actor at a anime convention back in 2017
Lol that's amazing 😁 does he sound like he does in game??? Lol and yeah- I was stuck on the final battle at the end of my rental period- I had my mom rent it, so I ended up having to buy it a month later to beat it after doing yard work for my grandma to be able to get it 😅😂
I beat Xemnas on the first try despite not noticing that I needed to mash two keys instead of one at the final part. I beat Demyx on the first try using the reaction commands.
I beaten all of these bosses on critcal (proud for KH1) and I was going through the video like "yeah this seems like a technical listening for the bosses weakness/patterns and it seemed like something I already do a lot in KH (to not get 1 shotted) and then ofc VANITAS HAD TO COME INTO THE RING
So I too played my favorite series KH as a wee lad and Ansem as well as Final Xemnas were my roadblocks that stopped me from beating them for yeeeears until I came back to platinum the HD collection and 2.8 and 3 (: but I would like to give an honorable mention to Oogie Boogie from KH1 specifically. Not knowing you could knock back the dice didn't help haha.
omg i havent played ever since my ps3 died a few years ago :"( had to stop at bbs, but i remember how rewarding it felt after retrying multiple times to defeat the bosses lol XD
In my first playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 2, I beat nearly every boss in the game on my first try (mainly because I played on the easiest difficulty) Only about a small handful of bosses beat me at least once. Demyx was one of them. (Though I did beat him on my second try, but yeah)
The one fight that was hardest for me was against Dark Riku in KH1. It took me a good 22 tries to finally beat him, the last attempt being out of pure luck when I played the game the next day 😆😅🙃
But I did beat Demyx on my first try, Proud Mode, in the vanilla KH2. I spammed the reaction command and he died just like that... I didn't know he was regarded as a hard boss until years later after seeing a lot of forums and lists. I think the key is to not think too much and just spam reaction command/firaga wisdom form without panicking. Maybe you need to plan things a bit for his Data form in Critical mode, but regardless don't panic and you'll get him.
I honestly I defeated Xemnas first try, the other 4 I don’t remember. However… Ansem was a huge pain, since I chose Sword and gave up Shield, making me a glass cannon, thankfully I don’t believe I died against World of Chaos And my freakin god Vanitas was an absolute pain, probably the worst boss I’ve ever fought, took me like 20-30 tries before I miraculously managed to defeat him (penultimate fight was a pain, him with X-blade isn’t too bad, big giant F U to the D-Link part). Also on top of that I was sick at the time and fell horrible.
Yeah, glass cannon can be yikes in KH1 since its not as fluid with its combat, leading to some questionable hit boxes. And YES, D-LINK VANITAS IS BS lol Even on the PSP it took me like 9 attempts
@@kevinkaslana9060 I didn’t really use a guide my first time, and even then I felt like it didn’t help. Second playthrough I found one where it uses shot locks and waiting a few seconds before activating. You can still die if you keep spamming them, plus the Last Attack can miss, so timing is crucial. 1st PT took me 20-30 tries, 2nd PT took me 4 tries. But he’s still a pain in the rear, especially if your new to it.
Guess we forgot to mention when you beat Demyx.. if you lose to any of the fights leading to the 1k heartless fight meant you had to beat him AGAIN and then go through those fights ALL OVER AGAIN
🤣🙃 yeah somebody else brought that up too. I had forgotten about that AND it did happen to me 😅😂 the pain when I realized was more than anything that's happened in the series
The most annoying boss to me has always been giant Ursula. I think she is way overpowered for that stage in the game and the Atlantic mechanics do not make it easy it all
I could have ranked the Atlantic controls on this list as a boss, and I bet no one would have batted an eye lol Her second phase does feel a little offset in terms of damage- its ridiculously high
I used spellbinder on the Ursula fight to better spam magic and beat her easily. Just today, I beat both Maleficent fights and the Riku/Ansem fight first try [I only slightly cheesed them with Dumbo and Strike Raid a few times, but still]. I'm very proud of myself
@@GlacierHades You should try it. Although the remake had multiple difficulty options, the orginal version you could only max out two of the three stats. The remake actually removed some sleights like Goofy Charge,Homing Fira,Stop Raid,Gravity Raid and Blazing Donald. Some of the stuff added in the remake like Lethal Frame and Card Duels make it easier in comparison.
Holy hell, Xigbar was the absolute worst to deal with of the 13… I had more game overs with him than even Demyx! If you didn’t know when to block, when to attack, and when to glide- or if your model got caught on an invisible wall or something as you flee for your life from the torrent of lasers fired your way… god, just a brutal fight. Thinking about it is bringing back the ptsd
Let's see if I can remember, Kingdom Hearts: I was 7-8 years old mind you. Traverse town: Guard Armor before sealing the Keyhole. Wonderland: Didn't die to the Trick Master Deep Jungle: I think I died to Clayton and his giant reptile heartless a few times, and Sabor. Agrabah: Definitely Died to Jafar-Genie, not sure about Jafar and Genie fight tho. Halloween Town: I died to the children, not Oogie Boogie 1 & 2 Atlantica: I definitely died to Giant Ursula, and might have died to Ursula in her lair. Neverland: I did not die to Hook. Hollow Bastion, I died to Maleficent phase 1 & 2, I died to Possessed Riku a lot, Hardest Boss Battle in my opinion I remember I died to Ansem Seeker of Darkness in the Dark abyss quite a bit. and yes I submitted I don't want to talk about Chain of Memories. Kingdom Hearts II: Now I'm 11-12 years old 6:22 sums it up. I remember Xigbar, Demyx, Luxord, Sai'x, Xemnas, Xaldin. I don't think I defeated a single one of them the first time. Disney Villains: Captain Barbosa, Scar, Jafar, I feel like, were the most difficult... I can't remember. the Nobody, and heartless bosses were definitely more tedious. Kingdom Hearts III: I was 25, and I took my beatings like a champ.
I remember Xigbar being a nightmare. So many retries man and just when I thought I was gonna die to that one attack where he changes the platform and just fires shots, Donald for once healed me before it went off(My MP was on cooldown). For the final fight with Xemnas I remember making Riku go at an angle and Xemna popped up behind him and began shoving Riku towards Sora so that's how I managed that part lol. But, yes, Demyx was really hard. I hated that fight and it took me forever. I do remember when I finally beat him it was Thanksgiving day. Through sheer luck I beat Luxord on first try. Also he wasn't on the list, but thought he was worth a mention, is Riku from KH1 when he's all darkness possessed(Fight in Hollow Bastion before Ansem is revealed). I remember struggling so bad with that fight and young me getting brought to tears of frustrationXD Also the KH2 first run I did, I never knew you could swap out your keyblades for different ones(I don't know what young me was thinking) so I just had Kingdom Key for everything. I played the games out of order so I played the second game first and than the first.
Kh2 was my first one too 😅 I remember seeing the cover and thinking "that looks cool", so I grabbed it lol and demyx was my first road block, followed by xemnas- I had the week rental and ended up having to buy the game to finish it 🤣 xigbar I dont remember being much of a challenge on my first playthrough- but xaldin 😵 lol I think after the super bosses video is done I'll do a "comments edition".
@@GlacierHades My aunt bought me the game cause I told her about it(My friend had the first game and I watched her play it at her house and that's how I got into the game) But my aunt bought me the second one and not the first. So I was very confused when I started the game lol. And I completely forgot about Xaldin, he was a hard fight too for kid meXD
Yeeees! Same here with the keyblade thing. My nephew and I had no idea you could swap em out or apply items and whatnot. The fact that we somehow made it to demyx in the first place was a feat in its own. Demyx did make us put the game down for a good year though.
Vanitas in BBS was brutal, mainly because I didn't understand how to beat that final phase Terra's Armor vs Terranort was 2nd place hardest fight in that game I actually won. The super bosses require a bit more grinding then I could handle, and I was really close to 80 hours once I completed the final episode. Re:Coded's sector that you unlock Ultima Weapon with a 13 floor challenge, floor 13 has the true final boss, which is a bug version of Data-Roxas. Since Re:Coded is the most customizable in difficulty, this fight can be made easier, but still. I have yet to beat it and get Ultima Weapon without save states, and I'm currently doing a level 15 run of the entire story and post story story so I can get a trophy chip, then I'm gonna knock out everything else before I try to beat it. Then maybe I'll figure out those multiplayer system sectors... Apparently there is another superboss exclusive to them.
I would also put xaldin you can't really attack hem with his wind shield you have to do jumps on hem, i got lucky and mickey came for me when i was died
Top spot has to go to Roxas in The World That Never Was from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix. A story boss inserted for the final mix version, anyone who’s come from the vanilla version of the game on PS2 along with players who first experienced the game with Final Mix will need to learn his patterns, what can be blocked and when to use Reflect magic and how to apply Limit Form, and Roxas doesn’t go easy on you. If you don’t know exactly what you’re doing he’s a challenging fight on Easy Mode. From 358/2 Days, Infernal Engine definitely deserves mention. The battlefield is the bridge at Beast’s Castle and the Engine is as wide as the bridge is. Along with being able to charge at you and send bombs your way there are other Heartless on top of it who shoot arrows at you, meaning you need to arrange a carefully considered collection of attacks beforehand to bring into battle. Another Dream Drop Distance one is Spellican from Sora’s side of Symphony of Sorcery. It starts with a rail grind on a figure of eight where Sora has to catch up to the Spellican while avoiding the attacks it sends and you can’t heal in this section. The second stage is a an arena with platforms at various levels and Soda has to navigate them to attack the Spellican. It’s not an easy boss.
Nah bruh as far as days go , the damn ruler of the sky has to take that honor you gave. Especially when those who first got the game at or shortly after release (meaning at around 9-11 years old) didn’t know that you have to raise your defense to past 100 to survive his rampage around the stage and to bring fire and just overall that fight is so annoying (in my eyes days has the most intense amount of annoying bosses in the series but meh) that’s why I say this
@@onyxx5612 At least there’s plenty of room to manoeuvre for Ruler. Engine gives you practically no space to move around in while constantly bombarding you. Ruler is more an exercise in patience.
@@jbcatz5 mmm fair assessment but I didn’t Have too much trouble with engine even at the level I was at when I first fought him (wHicH was like 18) I respect the points and problems that you presented though
First off- This was wholesome as hell lol so right on Second- Yeah Roxas was a challenge and will probably be on round 2. I did play 358, but I dont remember many of the bosses which makes me think I either had it on a too low difficulty, or I might have missed side missions. AND YES, Spellican was a pain just because if you die you start on the rails again.
ooofff, good choice. He'll be added to roster for the "comments edition" version of this video. I remember it isn't really clayton thats dangerous- its stealth sneak (the chameleon). Because of his high health, he gives clayton the tanking he needs for the low burst damage of clayton to wipe you. Why when I was younger I just tried to seperate the two and knockout clayton. That was the only way I beat him as a kid lol
I never had trouble with any of the story bosses in KH2 the first time, but the absent silhouettes? Oh yeah they kick your ass into gear, lol. You see, the main story bosses forget you have Reflect. It's the most broken spell in all of Kingdom Hearts history, and is probably why it never returned, haha. Total invincibility AND it damages them? But the absent silhouettes and data battles...they force you to master the game mechanics to beat them. Or at least, memorize their patterns and guard/dodging/reflect windows. I think that's why I appreciate all the stuff the Final Mix edition added, because base KH2 was so easy, most casual players never even bothered to use magic or summons.
_Me: Groans loudly before I prepare to mouth the entire long cutscene I know by heart now as I'm forced to watched again for the 40th time because I keep dying_ _Maleficent drags herself away using her scepter as a cane, all while making some questionable noises before Possessed Riku appears behind her._ Possessed Riku: Do you need some help? Sora: Riku! Donald: Is that? Possessed Riku: Yes, a Keyblade. But unlike yours, this keyblade holds the power to unlock people's hearts. Allow me to demostrate. Behold! _Maleficent gasps in horror as Possessed Riku stabs her in the chest_ Maleficent: Now, open your heart! Surrender it to the Darkness. Me: Only...... lets do this one more time..... Spongebob narrator: A few moments later....... Me: F***********************K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never played these games as a child, and just recently got into them (I'm 16 and currently in Arendale in kh3) so maybe thats why I didn't struggle with Demyx and Ansem. I've also heard that Xaldin was a struggle but i beat him 1st or second try if I remember. However, I spent 3 hours on young Xehanort and almost a year later I have no clue how that Ursula fight works.
IM NOT ALONE! 😅🤣 young xehanort was a struggle because I was cocky coming from kh2 and kh1 on proud, and bbs on critical. So I was like "I got this" and cranked it up to critical my first time. Yeah, he put me in my place... lol
@@GlacierHades Haha yea. I’m very glad I didn’t play on critical (played on proud though) or else I don’t think I would have beat DDD! After watching this I wish I used balloon moves more.

NOW THE FIGHT THAT I GOT STUCK ON FOR TWO HOURS LITERALLY TWO HOURS NONSTOP. KH1 THE UH TRICKMASTER? THE WONDERLAND BOSS BATTLE. THAT ONE, THAT ONE HAD ME STUCK FOR HOURS I WAS LIKE OH MY GOD WHY so far no boss has been as hard as that one for me.
Lol trickmaster is lowkey a hard starting boss because of how weird magic scales in KH1. Apparently, it causes him to hit harder than intended, at least that's what I was told lol
I beat Ursula 1 first try, but Ursula 2 was HELL... Also, how did you not include Xaldin? I die to him, even today, more often than I die to most of the bosses on this list...
he'll be on round two of this: "commenters edition" lol but yeah, I may have been a little cheesy my first time playing as a kid. I realized how broken duck flare was.... thats how lol
@@GlacierHades Ah, okay. My first time, I remembered how mediocre most of the team-ups with Donald and Goofy were, so I never used Duck Flare; it wasn't until much later that I found out just how good it was. XD
🤣 i can seen why- with Clayton's slow but high damage shots and stealth sneaks ability to attack without you being able to read which attack it is, makes for a deadly combo
Riku Keyblade KH1 was hell originally when I first played I still to this day know the whole scripted scene because skip scenes didn't come until later. "Open the door lead me in to everlasting darkness" "Sora!" "Forget it there's no way your taking Kairis heart!" *cue amazing boss battle music*
So if you lose to the certain win conditions will get... Drowned by Demyx Get carded by Luxord Grim Reaper one shot by Marluxia And for some reason I feel like I'm forgetting one
When I fought Vanitas for the first time I lost four times in a row because I kept missing the finisher move, I love everything about the fight but that one part was the most infuriating part of my playthrough of BBS
Oh, you think THAT's annoying? Try fighting Vanitas Remnant. You cannot let up dodging for a SECOND unless you wanna get shit on. Also, wise idea to pack Mega-Potions as he CAN heal himself from Curaga, but what I find interesting is that he CANNOT heal himself from Esuna, which is a *_Cure-related_* Command.
My record is having Mickey appear 7 times against xaldin 😂
hahahaha might have check that for the world record bud 😂 Sora getting abused out here
I intentionally Killed Sora to play as Mickey in those fights.
I beat xaldin first try without Mickey saving me. I can thank stitch
HAHAHHAA same 🤣🤣

I agree, what with his teleporting and tracking, along with Xaldin. I remember not understanding how his reaction command worked by blocking to get jump, so it was a very rough fight. After I get done with the super bosses one, I'll come back and do a "commenters edition", doing one for the other bosses that deserve to be on here to that didn't make the cut 💜- (yes its purple because of darkness being purple in KH 😂)
Well, Xigbar is basically just blocking projectiles, same for the data.
Xaldin is a different level for sure, his Data version is pretty rough on Critical.
It’s his second phase and how long his DM is
Yeah, his DM is what catches people off guard so much. He's chill and even announces himself with "arc reload!". Then all of a sudden it's time to crank it to 11 for the DM. He's a beast 😂
@@GlacierHades yeah I’m going for the lv1 critical run and I’m most worried about him and roxas
I just beat Kingdom Hearts 2, and I can proudly say i beat Luxord on my first try.
then you are a legend in my books lol dude took me a dozen or so more tries the first time playing
I defeated him first try too. I find his Data a bit annoying though, since his DM is much worse than the story boss
@Black Zephyre Now go fight Lingering Will
Thank you, think thats how I finally beat his Data fight 😂 cheese for days
I didn’t. My first play through was on Critical Mode cuz I’m crazy
Want to know what hardest boss in any Kingdom Hearts game that keeps killing me?
Is it Sephiroth? No
Is it Lingering Will? No
Is it Data XIII battles? No
Is it Yozora? No
It’s the Anti Black Coat Nightmare in Dream Drop Distance that is the hardest for me.
lol apparently there are a few who had trouble with him.
Xaldin is one of the big cheese for a reason lol The mickey mechanic was such a cool feature for this fight though- they knew we would die lol
yeah same lmao i never understood why people had trouble with demyx but not with xaldin
Fun Fact: Luxords 'time gauge' actually has nothing to do with time. It's all about hits.
You could honestly fill this list with just KH1 bosses. Decades later, I can still recite the cutscenes for every Hollow Bastion boss fight based on how many times I died
Thats fair lol 😂 KH1 wasn't as fluid in the combat and led to some questionable hitboxes
2nd maleficent fight almost had me rage quit. One of the few fights in the game where the Aero spells DO NOT help much.
the worst part about demyx is that everything JRPGs teach you tells you that lightning magic is what you need to fight him but water magic doesn't exist until 3, so his attacks are considered Blizzard, so he's weak to fire which counters all video game logic
Yeah, especially if you've played FF games lol Like Lulu saying "this fiends a water fiend, so its weak to lightning". Uhhh, Square, you made both games right? lol
Yeah, like what the hell? How does Water be countered against Fire when they contradict each other and NOT Thunder? That is so ass backwards!
Worst part of Critical mode Demyx?
Fighting him again after losing on the Final Fantasy battles later :)
lol o god; I completely forgot that was a thing. That's a soul-breaker killer right there
That has got be one of the worst placements fight in the KH series. I would usually die because of those spike heartless. For Demyx that may help is using stitch and when the does that wall move you can use the thunder
Very accurate- hardest boss? Lets put a gauntlet right after. But it can also make the stakes feel higher. I doubt it, but maybe it was intentional?
@@GlacierHades Demyx is not THAT hard if you use alternate strategies. Stuff like the Teamwork limit with Goofy are pretty useful and then it is really only down to beating the Water assholes in time.
@@Cetra29 that's true- but on ps2 it was 10 seconds not 15, and following final fantasy logic I always tried to use lighting. In kh2 his element is classified as blizzard, so he's actually weak to fire. Didn't know that for years 😳 lol so yeah, I just failed as a kid 😅
Definitely missing Riki Round 2 in Hollow Bastion in KH1. That’s the fight that I still can’t guarantee I’ll beat first try to this day.
Yeah, he'll be put up on round two.... lol If we asked most kingdom hearts fans to quote a single cutscene and compiled the data, it'd most likely be this one from all the resets lol
Riku is honestly easy my sister had trouble beating him but I beat him on my first try lol
@@lilsp2647 it really just depends on playstyle lol some do, some don't. It's always fun to watch streams because the one boss we all think they will struggle on, they wipe first try. Yet the simple boss will take a dozen attempts 😅 just funny to me
@@GlacierHades true
It’s been almost a year and i still haven’t beat him
I learned late that the Demyx fight can made easier if you use Magnet in his water forms. The part where you Wild Dance.
I never tried magnet on them huh lol learned something new. Thank you. May make his data battle easier at level 1 lol
Magnet and Thunder are the strongest magics I'd have to say
@@RandomVids0987 and reflect for kh2 lol OP
I remember being stuck on Ansem/Riku in Kingdom Hearts 1 for MONTHS. I have that entire cutscene before the fight (remember, skip scene was not introduced until Kingdom Hearts 2) ingrained into my memory. Upon every repeat playthrough, I have only had one run where I did not die to him at all, but I make sure to never skip that scene in memory of my struggle with it.
Ahh the nostalgia, not of just the game but being a kid on the PS2. Those were some of the best games, even to this day
Even better, the first time my brother and I played KH1 we didn't know English yet (we're Spanish), but we still learnt the whole sequence by heart. Freaking Ansem
@@kii8585 that's amazing 😅🤣 right on
For me it was Xaldin for sure 😭 and I know you didn’t mention secret bosses but Kurt Zisa was another one!
Yeah- super bosses would be the whole list. But Kurt is a good choice because of his shields and learning his mechanics 👍
I had trouble with xaldin as well, but i think one main reason was because i didn't take advantage of the jump command
Lol
I look forward to playing 3 on crit and see if it has memorable fights. I also heard playing on crit isn't nearly as hard as kh2 was. I will see though.
@@Telvarous always down to need about KH 😅 and I'd agree kh3 crit is significantly easier than the others
Xaldin at Beasts Castle. I swear it’s like the game knew you were going to lose and made it so that you’d learn that Mickey will show up at times.
Lol yeah, I'm pretty sure the devs knew. Trollmura be like "heheheh, show them why Mickey is king"
Demyx was my biggest struggle as a kid all because of his water forms. There never seemed to be enough time
Yeah, I was always short on his second one with kill 10 in 15 seconds.
@@Arti_The_Great yeah, he was so chill in days lol hopefully we see more of him in the future
@@GlacierHades Same haha
The Xigbar fight in kh2 nearly gave me trauma man I had to fight that guy at least 30-40 times?? Idk but it was definitely under 50. That damn desperation move was hard for me to dodge even with all his abilities maxed out so I just couldn’t figure it out 😭 I had tears streaming down my face like damn I just wanna see riku with the gang again. Xaldin had me sweating but he was nothing compared to Xig.
I hope you eventually had tears of joy when you beat them both 😊
Leveling up your growth abilities extremely helps with xigbar since he’s teleporting everywhere

Thats progress, hell yeah
Keep grinding until you can do it level 1 no damage
uhhh, one of these days I may be inclined to do a level 1 run 😅
I cheese the hell out of Roxas because using Blizzard on your second Combo Finisher negates his counter-attack. You can get up to FIVE full combos on him with that, maybe up to seven if you're lucky.

Ursula I did beat on try 1 but everything else was 10000% accurate especially Xemnas because I didn’t understand that X needed to be clicked as well as triangle for like 50 attempts 😅

I look forward to seeing Luxord as a good guy whenever that inevitably happens
If he does, I hope he is more of a good guy that does bad things lol Like he will help out Sora, but he may do it in a messed up way.
I actually beat xemnas first try the part that I always died on is when you riding the glider
I mean, I might have died to that too..... Maybe a few too many times... 😂 I didn't understand the timing on the shield and kept getting wrecked
I mean Demyx could wipe out Lord Gwyn, what with all that water 😂
I can attest to this. I've triggered Anti Form against Xigbar, Saïx and -Larxene-
_ahem_ *_Pika-Bitch_* and only TWICE have I managed to defeat Org. XIII members with that. Anti-Form is literally do or die, and if you can control that, your opponents have one hell of a beatdown coming.
Bro you said Ursula and the memories came flooding in😭
The worst part is- we cant cry because WE UNDER THE SEA! I'll leave now lol
I beat luxord, xemnas, and demyx on my first try. it was xaldin and xigbar that gave me too much damn trouble
Quick tip to anyone who struggles with the Riku portion of Final Xemnas:
You can easily do it, if you shoot some energy balls at the clone, then walk a couple steps, shoot again, walk again, and so on.
Also that part is actually skippable. You see, Xemnas will teleport in front of Sora, shoot at him, and if you get hit, you enter the Riku portion. If you dodge or use reflect, you can completely skip it, though the timing is not easy.
Yeah, it's extremely hard to get away with. Thank you for helping the community though- never know who needs to see this 😁
@@GlacierHades Exactly. Xemnas was the last Data Boss I defeated on Critical Mode, because of the Riku part. I must've watched/read at least 10-15 different guides, until one mentioned how to easily do that part. So yeah, I hope someone sees this and it helps them.
I would definitely add Xaldin to this list. He gave me more trouble than all of those bosses combined 😅
I like it 😁
This video hit it on spot on-felt some pride knowing I beat some on the first time
Yeah, it's always a good feeling beating them first try as well as finally beating a particularly difficult battle 👏
"DANCE WATER, DANCE!" are words that haunt my memory forever
YOU LIKE IT!
... I still hear "Dance water, dance!" in my nightmares
Riku/Ansem… I will always be Riku/Ansem
Ever since I was struggling to beat Riku on the isles and after he turned evil I knew he was going to be the toughest battle I was going to have.
Honestly I mostly agree with this with the exception of Ursula
I personally found her to be one of the easier kh1 bosses
your a mad man lol all jokes aside, her second form hits like a truck
Now I didn’t lose to luxord the first but the data fight took me 20 straight tries to beat because I kept messing up his final attack. At least now I can perfectly quote “Look who’s on top of the game” every time I fight him
Dude, yes. His Data DM is insane. I never got to play the PS2 final mix, and thus all I've ever played is the PS3/4 version. Since its higher FPS, it makes it ludicrous speed (bonus points if you get that reference lol) That quote is still one of my faves from the organization members.
@@GlacierHades What made it worse was that i was determined to beat them all at lv50 which i did end up doing

I beat Demyx on the first try using the reaction commands.
Sephiroth. The one shot attack that nobody survives on the first go haha
Out of everyone on this list, I only beat vanitas and demyx first try but I remember demyx feeling like the meanest fluke ever
Lol 😆 hey, take em when you can
demyx on critical... my worst nightmare...
😱😵 I feel your pain
omg i havent played ever since my ps3 died a few years ago :"( had to stop at bbs, but i remember how rewarding it felt after retrying multiple times to defeat the bosses lol XD
In my first playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 2, I beat nearly every boss in the game on my first try (mainly because I played on the easiest difficulty) Only about a small handful of bosses beat me at least once. Demyx was one of them. (Though I did beat him on my second try, but yeah)
As someone who fought vanitas on ventus' story for the first time on critical, I can say it was beyond frustrating
I was expecting secret bosses here, like BbS NoName or Lingering Will on Critical.
He said no super bosses
I'll be doing the super bosses next- they take an entire video themselves (maybe even two 😆) don't worry- they are coming 😁
I struggled more with Xaldin than Luxord my first time playing the game. Now that I'm finally coming back to take on Critical Lv1 I am in Demyx limbo
lol o god. I hope I never have to face that pain.
Luxord prepared all the Hero mains in Smash Ultimate.
Don’t forget about Xigbar and Xaldin
I honestly I defeated Xemnas first try, the other 4 I don’t remember. However…
Ansem was a huge pain, since I chose Sword and gave up Shield, making me a glass cannon, thankfully I don’t believe I died against World of Chaos
And my freakin god Vanitas was an absolute pain, probably the worst boss I’ve ever fought, took me like 20-30 tries before I miraculously managed to defeat him (penultimate fight was a pain, him with X-blade isn’t too bad, big giant F U to the D-Link part).
WHAT?! Cap! Dude, D-Link Vanitas is so easy! Just spam Shotlocks.

Yea… that’s why I don’t go to Atlantica now
Unless I have gone to Halloween town first to get the pumpkinhead keyblade😂😂

Let's see if I can remember,
Kingdom Hearts: I was 7-8 years old mind you.
Traverse town: Guard Armor before sealing the Keyhole.
Wonderland: Didn't die to the Trick Master
Deep Jungle: I think I died to Clayton and his giant reptile heartless a few times, and Sabor.
Agrabah: Definitely Died to Jafar-Genie, not sure about Jafar and Genie fight tho.
Halloween Town: I died to the children, not Oogie Boogie 1 & 2
Atlantica: I definitely died to Giant Ursula, and might have died to Ursula in her lair.
Neverland: I did not die to Hook.
Hollow Bastion, I died to Maleficent phase 1 & 2, I died to Possessed Riku a lot, Hardest Boss Battle in my opinion
I remember I died to Ansem Seeker of Darkness in the Dark abyss quite a bit. and yes I submitted
I don't want to talk about Chain of Memories.
Kingdom Hearts II: Now I'm 11-12 years old
6:22 sums it up.
Lol yeah, I was around the same age for most of that 😅 the nostalgia of thinking back to my first time made it a fun experience
I beat Ursula the first time, but it took me a while to realize how to beat her. I did NOT beat second form Ursula the first time though...
I remember struggling so bad with that fight and young me getting brought to tears of frustrationXD
Also the KH2 first run I did, I never knew you could swap out your keyblades for different ones(I don't know what young me was thinking) so I just had Kingdom Key for everything.

Yeeees! Same here with the keyblade thing. My nephew and I had no idea you could swap em out or apply items and whatnot. The fact that we somehow made it to demyx in the first place was a feat in its own. Demyx did make us put the game down for a good year though.

Vanitas in BBS was brutal, mainly because I didn't understand how to beat that final phase

I would also put xaldin you can't really attack hem with his wind shield you have to do jumps on hem, i got lucky and mickey came for me when i was died
yeah, I definitely abused the mickey save as a kid 😂 I thought it was neat that it was a thing too- it happened and I was "NANI!?"
Not trying to brag, but I did beat Ansem KH1 my first time, each faze. But I’ll admit, I used up a lot of my magic healing myself
Lol I kept running out of magic. I was also underleveled my first few playthroughs, so that didn't help
I'm at the beginning of this, but Axel from the end of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories needs to be on here
Top spot has to go to Roxas in The World That Never Was from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix.
First off- This was wholesome as hell lol so right on
Second- Yeah Roxas was a challenge and will probably be on round 2. I did play 358, but I dont remember many of the bosses which makes me think I either had it on a too low difficulty, or I might have missed side missions. AND YES, Spellican was a pain just because if you die you start on the rails again.
@@GlacierHades Multistage fights where dying sends you back to the start no matter how far in you got is very annoying.
I actually did beat Luxord first time around. Also, pressing triangle is riku blocking lasers and X is sora
lol yeah, I understand that now. As a kid though that concept went right over my head
I only had a thought time with dark Riku and Ansem and also sephiroth
7:55 SAME
Back in 2005, I made this very mistake.
I was caught forever on beasts castle Xaldin
It will always be the fights against Xaldin and Xigbar for me.
Ursa from kingdom heart 1 was a fucking menace at the time no-one knew how to beat her
IM NOT THE ONLY ONE! THANK YOU 🤣😂 yeah, both of her forms are crazy. Part of it I think comes down to the controls in atlantica too
I remember my first time in KH2 I did beat demyx the first time. Every time after in replays? Took me AGES
lol beginners luck 😂 dont you love it?
You forgot to add Clayton to the list.
ooofff, good choice.
Saw this list and first boss that came to my mind was Dymix. Glad I wasn't the only one that had an annoying time with him
He was the biggest road block for me as a kid hands down lol and because of my experience with ff I thought his weakness was thunder, not fire 😅🤣
Thats very accurate lol as a kid i only used heal and chicken little like twice lol
Xaldin give me trauma.
_Me: Groans loudly before I prepare to mouth the entire long cutscene I know by heart now as I'm forced to watched again for the 40th time because I keep dying_
_Maleficent drags herself away using her scepter as a cane, all while making some questionable noises before Possessed Riku appears behind her._
Possessed Riku: Do you need some help?
Sora: Riku!
Donald: Is that?
Possessed Riku: Yes, a Keyblade. But unlike yours, this keyblade holds the power to unlock people's hearts. Allow me to demostrate. Behold!
_Maleficent gasps in horror as Possessed Riku stabs her in the chest_
Maleficent: Now, open your heart! Surrender it to the Darkness. Become Darkness itself _Possessed Riku pulls his keyblade out from Maleficent's chest before teleporting away_
Maleficent: This is it..... This power! HAHAHA...... Darkness...... THE TRUE DARKNESS!!!
Me: Only...... lets do this one more time.....
Spongebob narrator: A few moments later.......
Me: F***********************K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol it was at this moment, he knew, he fucked up
Aww man, how could "Der's nO wAy Ur TekkEn Kairi's HERT!" not make it on this list? Back when we didn't have the "skip cutscene" option.
@@lithiko1948 lol I mean playing without Ballon is the legi experience. Ballon will melt anything in this game. I didn't know about if for like 5 or 6 playthroughs because I figured it was garbage 🙃 lol o well. And I think you would have still managed on crit 🤘
NOW THE FIGHT THAT I GOT STUCK ON FOR TWO HOURS LITERALLY TWO HOURS NONSTOP. KH1 THE UH TRICKMASTER? THE WONDERLAND BOSS BATTLE. THAT ONE, THAT ONE HAD ME STUCK FOR HOURS I WAS LIKE OH MY GOD WHY
so far no boss has been as hard as that one for me.
Lol trickmaster is lowkey a hard starting boss because of how weird magic scales in KH1. Apparently, it causes him to hit harder than intended, at least that's what I was told lol
For me as a child it took me forever to try and beat terra-nort with Terra’s lingering will and honestly I never even beated Terra’s story as a kid 😭
XD
@@shinigamimiroku3723 lol I only kept them in because of the drives. That's how I accidentally discovered duck flare 😅
Riku I'm KH1 had me stuck for what felt like forever
Now the real question is did you learn all his lines in the cutscene before lol
8 year old me was traumatized by the chameleon in the Tarzan world on KH1 💀
🤣 i can seen why- with Clayton's slow but high damage shots and stealth sneaks ability to attack without you being able to read which attack it is, makes for a deadly combo
Riku Keyblade KH1 was hell originally when I first played I still to this day know the whole scripted scene because skip scenes didn't come until later.
"Open the door lead me in to everlasting darkness"
"Sora!"
"Forget it there's no way your taking Kairis heart!"
*cue amazing boss battle music*
I was soo lucky to beat riku on my first attempt during my first time playing the game. Never had to deal with that unbearable unskippable cutscene
So many people are just missing out on the classic Kingdom Hearts experience I say lol And yes, his battle music is a banger
So if you lose to the certain win conditions will get...
Drowned by Demyx
Get carded by Luxord
Grim Reaper one shot by Marluxia
And for some reason I feel like I'm forgetting one
When I fought Vanitas for the first time I lost four times in a row because I kept missing the finisher move, I love everything about the fight but that one part was the most infuriating part of my playthrough of BBS
Oh, you think THAT's annoying? Try fighting Vanitas Remnant. You cannot let up dodging for a SECOND unless you wanna get shit on. Also, wise idea to pack Mega-Potions as he CAN heal himself from Curaga, but what I find interesting is that he CANNOT heal himself from Esuna, which is a *_Cure-related_* Command.
Yeah… I struggled so much with Vanitas in BBS on critical mode. A few rage quit moments with that fight… 🤣
