    Good ol' blood pod. Even if it isn't as popular anymore it still has a place in my heart as the deck that actually started my cEDH journey

    I am a building a proxy less version of blood pod with the universe within commander pair and honestly the deck list ended up being a oops all combo pile. I hope to try it tomorrow.

    Very good insight on the deck Mons! This really showcases my theory that Rule of Laws aren't really the best way to play the deck anymore (and realistically it shouldn't because it contradicts the color red in multi-color). I've been playing Tymna Tana for two years, and I am on hatebears for quite some time that pivots to combo. A big card that I've been really high on is Haywire Mite. It gets rid of most draw engines and stops Breach. You can also use your Ranger Captain similarly to how Blue Farm uses it by fetching a Haywire Mite instead as a hatebear and protection for your combo. Vexxing Shusher is also a very interesting statistic that I overlooked. Probably because it's layered to combat Ad Nauseum.

    I just started to play Tymna/Dargo, and I love it because my meta is soooooo blue, and instead of joining the blue abyss, I want to try to go around it--lots of creatures with abilities and Silence. I like the alternative approach, with the Dargo finisher, but I might consider shifting to Tana.

      I have played this deck for about 8months I was also sick of the blue, I find it a really fun deck. I played bloodpod before that. I feel dargo tymna is faster. Playing stax always just makes things slow and turbo Naus is more fun imo

      Yes and no. Pretty certain is time in tournament rounds are longer they might have an uptick. However, power creep has definitely contributed to pushing it out.

    • @cedhtv
      @cedhtv  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Not like this. Dargo Ikra has just to few games. Like We can't say anything. Or we could look into it at the cards it plays, but then looking at the entier database.

    • @iPhoneeditor
      @iPhoneeditor Před 6 měsíci

      I play it as more of a high power Jund turbo deck. It can go fast, but it struggles to protect itself and gets blown out quite easily. In terms of overall effectiveness, Dargo + Thrasios has been doing much better for me. Pontus has played Dargo + Ikra several times on the channel and I don't think the deck's record has been all that great.

    Why doesn't anyone play Wheel of Fortune in Blood Pod? I know, it's a lot of resource denial, then Wheel has everyone draw 7, but if you're also playing Bowmaster, Silence effects, and trying to dig for your combo, it sounds good in those scenarios. Also, a turn 1 Wheel with Mana Crypt can really screw over the table, trading their sculpted hands for a random 7. Just a thought.

    • @cedhtv
      @cedhtv  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I don't think your wrong. I made a video about wheels looking into it and they are good. I personally don't play them becouse I play more value midrange engiens and not a turbo focus. But it is probobly good to play the turbo focus.

  • @enderstarpg6921

    I have a question on Vexing Shusher. Can't the opponent still counter the targeted spell/ability while shusher's ability is still on the stack, so shusher's ability should be activated after they try to counter the spell/ability, right?

    • @cedhtv
      @cedhtv  Před 6 měsíci

      yes. and if they keep casting counterspels you just keep paying that one mana. It is a super good trade for you.

  • @guimartgon
    @guimartgon Před 6 měsíci +1

    In order to calculate the winrate of orcish bowmasters, did you only take into account the winrate of decks post orcish bowmasters? Maybe the card is good but blood pod in general has been suffering since bowmasters itself got printed, leading to a worse winrate in the decks ft bowmasters (post print) compared to the decks without (before it was printed)

    • @cedhtv
      @cedhtv  Před 6 měsíci +1

      The answer to that is yes. But the sample size was so small before orchis bowmaster was printed that it is hard to say it had an impact. I do personally belive it did but. The data can't really say that. I have a winrate over time tracker. So I do look how different commanders winrate goes up and down over time. But once again just to few samples in the era before orchis got printed.

    • @cedhtv
      @cedhtv  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Those 2 have 30 tournament entrys togheter where they are both in the same deck. From that they have a 21,97% winrate. So 22% kinda. This is in the middle average. So they are OK togheter I guess.
