I will say One Piece really doesn't dwell on its foreshadowing or shove it in your face... a great example is Kuros backstory. Kuro takes a no name, nobody of a marine and convinces him that he captured Kuro. The marine gets his jaw broken and his right arm messed up. And if you think about it, you've met this marine. This also explains why he wasn't as strong as he seemed to think he was. And the show will never tell you, but Oda confirmed it in a question and answer section of the manga (it's called an SBS in the manga)

Not gonna lie, I've never met any kid characters in one piece that are really annoying... Only the villains heehee. The kids are really lovable. Idk if it's by design but the kids feel lik .kids and some of them feel mature, they are just very pure and direct to the point. I guess also because Luffy represents the child in every one of us. Even his birthday is children's day in Japan. I love it 😊 Makes me feel like a child again.
The fights in one piece are kinda boring. Thats just my opinion (it gets better tho). But I didn't really like the series because of the fights (naruto has better fights) but more on the reason why they fight. And yeah, some of them suffer from pacing issues like dragonball but yeah, it happens.
