Do you need a voice activated, multi-monitor teleprompter system? In my opinion, yes...that is if you want to up your game and add a level of professionalism to your video production.
Whether you're using it for business presentations, CZcams videos, Tutorial Creation or other video types, using a teleprompter can simply the task of delivering a script while making eye contact with a camera.
Teleprompter prices have dropped dramatically over the past few years and a wide assortment of models is available. However, a teleprompter is only part of the equation and having a good app to control the script on the screen can be the difference between success and frustration.
While most teleprompter apps are designed for use on a single teleprompter, I've recently started using the PromptSmart Plus app as not only can it be used on multiple devices simultaneously, it is voice activated. In this video, you'll get an overview of this system and see it in action.

Thanks for your video! I started using the PromptSmart Pro version of their apps and like it very much. The main problem I'm running into so far is that even though it allows you to customize the font color and the background color, there is no background behind the text in selfie mode. All I can see is what I'm recording behind me which makes seeing the text, regardless of color choice, VERY DIFFICULT. I managed to record a 20 minute video with it like that by positioning the camera over a dark poster on my wall, but it isn't ideal and wore me out. Any suggestions? I've reached out to them, but no answer yet,

@@andypargh6965 thanks for your answer! The best they could give me was to activate the adjustable video preview option which did help somewhat but there’s still a video window behind the text. No option for a background behind the text. I think it works better for when you have separate devices for camera and teleprompter at this point but I’m using my iPhone camera with the teleprompter app together. I’m satisfied with the functionality of the voice activation in any case and will stick with it until something better comes along.

I started using promptsmart in 2018 and paid their one-time fee of $30 only for them to rescind it and demand payment. I suppose I could stand being lied to but I find the buggy software to be salt on the wound. Alas, the voice tracking works well enough to leave me no choice but to use it.
If they made it smooth scrolling as opposed to stop start scrolling it’d be exceptional. Unfortunately it isn’t there yet.
You can do smooth auto scrolling... or manual scrolling. The only time it's "stop start" is when it's listening to your voice.

Can you use this teleprompter app when doing a Facebook Live? If so, how? Or does it only work when you are recording a video?
Yes, its app has a mode where the script can appear on your phone/iPad and you can read while using the front facing camera.

I've been using the Pro version for a couple of years and yes, that's a good solution for single camera system. Try it and if you're not getting good voice recognition results, you may try connecting a wired lavaliere microphone to your device as depending on how far you are from the device, it could improve accuracy.

Disappointed with Prompt Smart. Now I use Zoom+iPad screen recording with scrolling on Pages. Reason is that Prompt Smart Autoscroll is not that smart, many times it does not scroll prompting many retakes...
It might be your script formatting? If you use parentheses, or a lot of '...' , or type '1' instead of 'one' - that sort of thing, the auto scroll can be finicky.

Please explain. On the website the pricing says $99 per year. I don't see anything about a lower price and then a higher one.
Nice review, but am I the only one who thinks it looks super weird to switch back-and-forth between cameras? Jump, cut, or not, I really don't understand the appeal. It's super distracting and feels completely artificial to me.
$100 *ANNUAL* fee. Nope.
Yeah it's a little steep. I plan to make make videos and hope to earn some income from it. It might be worth the cost if that income more than pays for the annual fee. But for someone who's not doing that, it's a bit expensive.
