It really is such a helpful tool!
That teleprompter is pretty dang cool!
Another couple of reasons the Elgato Prompter will power on a Mac when connected / on boot but not output anything can be caused by: Screen Sharing and Screen Mirroring.
If Screen Sharing is on, it can prevent the software from detecting the Elgato Prompter, so go into System Preferences > Sharing and disable
Additionally, if you have Screen Mirroring on and the prompter is mirroring your primary display, if the resolution is too high the prompter will just stay off.
Hope this helps prevent frantic troubleshooting before a call!

Nooooooooo!!!!!! Omar and Nolan are gone!!!!!!!😩😩😩😩😩😩😩. Ngl, those two were responsible for me having the courage to start my CZcams channel. From starter setups, to the Sony ZV-e10. Dam man.
If your prompter goes blank after showing the Elgato logo, try this: In the DisplayLink Manager dropdown, turn on the toggle in the "Display Rotation and Toggle: Elgato Prom." line. This way, you don't need to restart your computer - it comes to life at the flip of a switch.
(If this doesn't work, double-check that DisplayLink Manager is enabled in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording. Try toggling it off and on, or add it yourself with the + button if it's not shown there.) Hope this helps you!

The white screen google docs issue can be solved by making the google doc a dark gray and the text a contrasting color like a light blue. ive done this because i has the same issue with ghosting from my big monitor when i had my notes up. 👍 im sure it will be the same with the elgato and then you can potentially up the brightness of the teleprompter

I don't believe I saw this covered in the video, but can this be used as a stand-alone with an iPad? Or must it be connected to a computer?
I ask because where I shoot my talking head videos, my computer isn't in that room.

Hey there! What I said was "this is my favorite piece of tech I have used in the last two years". About 2.5 years ago the Sony FX3 came out, and that would have been my favorite piece of tech... until this! This now takes the top spot of anything that has been released over the last two years. Hopefully that makes sense?
This is for people who doesn't need glasses haha,
because trying to avoid light reflection or not wearing glasses and not being able to read ... 🤣 This is a good prompter though, even if cheaper ones are available
It might not be as bad as you think, because you would ordinarily need to be in front of a computer screen for a zoom call in the first place, and this is only a 9 inch monitor! I should have tested it with some blue light glasses though, good thought!
larger monitor, and you don't get so much eye contact.
