I much prefer to use my bivi and tarp for stealth camps Dan. It let's me keep an eye out of whats going on around me. As for the camp net, if I use one I try and prop it up with different length sticks to break up the straight lines which otherwise stick out like a sore thumb in the woods! Good idea cooking early on, keeps you hidden later on.....
    Cheers pal, keep safe....

As a much older fellow with military experience i am going to suggest your cam net looked like a cam net draped over a tent !
That is not what you are looking for, stretch your net over your tent. bivi or vehicle as low as possible disguising the shape rather than draping your net. You might like to add some para cord at various places on the net to secure on tree/bushes. Feel
sure you will crack it if you look at some cammo videos you will find on you tube. Enjoyed watching, Mike County Durham

We can't win them all fella, the whole stealth thing is a very opinionated subject and you won't please everyone. My opinion of stealth camping is not being seen and that's exactly what you achieved 👍

  • @AndysEastCoastAdventures

I put my down sleeping bags in the tumble dryer on synthetic setting if they get damp and occasionally to refresh them a bit. It dries & floofs the feathers up like you wouldn't believe. Have trouble getting them back in bag afterwards.

Enjoyed your video again mate, not a Criticism but a tip. The Cam net is used to hide the shape of a manmade structure that stands out in Natural habitat, use sticks and twigs and twine to break up the outline of the Tent. Please dont think this is a criticism , but a helping hand if your going to extend your Stealth camping mate. The British Army 7, S's steps to Camouflage and Concealment.Shape,Shine,Shadow,Sillouette,Sound,Speed,Surroundings avoid and adapt. Well done though mate enjoyed your Video and Channel. Regards.

Sometimes when pitched under trees and it has been raining, when the wind gusts it blows the rain drops that have settled on the leaves and branches, causing them to fall like a small light bursts of rain accompanying the wind even though its not actually raining. Some trees can drip rain water for hrs after its stopped raining especially if its breezy. Another great video. I do love a good stealth camp.

  • @tonyjedioftheforest1364

Another excellent video. When and if I recover from the long Covid I plan to do some stealth camping next year. Your chicken looked great but my taste buds are now knackered, tomatoes and potatoes taste very bitter. Fry ups are ok though.

  • @davidcarroll2035
    @davidcarroll2035 Před 3 lety

Just a tip bro, when you put your chicken in the pan, lay them in one at a time and stop 🛑 pulling and tugging at them. LEAVE THEM ! At least 3 minutes before checking for any browning, and only when you have some colour on it should you turn it. Because by stirring and cutting and sliding it around you are reducing the temperature of the pan. That causes the chicken to stew in its own liquid. That’s all the juice wasted.
Brown both sides after seasoning, then slice into strips, then add to your sauce. Trust me you’re killing it over again, once when it was dispatched and once when ya cook it.
Oh and try low key red, or green light to cook with, it’s not so readily visible.
Another tip. Look at wood pigeon shooting hides, they use poles, either metal or from say hazel shoots, (with permission) 6-7 poles and a net to drape. You put your tent up against hedges, hide in front and even over the top. You won’t have anything on sight nor actually touching your tent.
I’ve used these methods since the 70s and if you get permission you can build hides and leave them. Then just pop your tent up when you wish.
Personally I would prep my food and take it with me. A quality heavy duty flask can hold fantastic hot stew, cooked meats in gravy etc.
This is advice based on experience. Take or leave xx God Bless x
