I grew up in the eighties and I've seen a lot of these, I've watched a few of your videos and probably haven't commented enough on how nostalgic and heart-warming they are. Although there are several better movies in your list, Condorman is one that I have a soft spot for.
Flash Gordon, Sheena and Supergirl need more love!!!
Agreed!
Sheena was the very first time I saw frontal nudity in a film, so it will remain a CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE for me.
11:53 the incredible hulk starring Norton actually had a cameo from bixby as well
Automan (1983-84) was a fun show.
So was Misfits of Science. 😊 Oh, and don't forget Supersonic Man, which was the Italian version of Superman, but dubbed in English. 🤭😂
@@AdultThirdCultureKid1971 Or Manimal
I HIGHLY recommend watching The Puma Man but only with MST3K. I almost peed my pants laughing so hard!
There really were lots of emporiums in the 1980s,every time hear that word I think the 80s. Not even kidding
Toxic avenger reboot? With Peter dinklage? When is this coming
Soon.
What a cool little video, I barely remember the 80's but this was a wonderful trip down memory lane with some detailed insights on movies I haven't even heard of, lovely stuff
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sheena is a GOAT movie
You forgot Remo Williams, loved the movies in the eighties
C-Level Indiana Jones rip-off! Ugh!
@@juniorjames7076 You may be thinking of a different movie. Nothing Indiana Jones-ish about Remo Williams.
@@juniorjames7076 Think again. Remo Williams was based on The Destroyer (1971). There are over 150 books in the series.
@@danmonges1539 Maybe he's thinking of Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold
@@magusxxx I bet you're right! Certainly sounds like what he's describing!
I enjoyed this
Sheena and The Return of Captain Invincible stirred some long dormant memories.
Condorman deserves more love, not even available on Disney+
Blade is on the 80s superhero list too.
Don't forget about Buckaroo Banzai!
Awwww rest in peace John Ritter...
I though Supergirl was okay as it was different from Superman and Flash is great :-)
Flash Gordon is a superhero? I guess the rationale must be that he was in a comic book, but does that make someone a superhero?
I hadn't thought of Robocop as a superhero, but I'll buy that one.
...for a dollar $..??
he saved every man,woman,and child
His original comic book and movie serials were superhero based.
@@n.w.1803underrated comment
@@AnastasioMedia I like to slip one in under the radar, on occasion..:)
Good video but if you're going to mention TV shows, you forgot Misfits of Science!
And a few opinions of mine (just opinions):
1) Supergirl was at least as good as Superman IV and should be as well known.
2) Dolph Lundgren's Punisher was actually pretty decent from what I remember. I remember it being on cable in the late '80's or real early '90's.
3) I LOVE Flash Gordon! That being said, I consider it more Sci-Fi like Buck Rogers than a Superhero movie.
4) I don't whine or criticize MOST Marvel or DC movies today because all I really had in the late '80's were the excellent Batman (over and over and over again) or the made-for-TV Incredible Hulk movies. The exception is X-Men: Dark Phoenix. That story didn't work as a subplot in X-Men: The Last Stand and making it into an entire movie is an insult to the CLASSIC Claremont/Byrne story arc. I know that changes need to be made to stories for films but that movie was just a huge mess. I did like most of the acting, though, but I'm usually easy to please.
Superman II and Flash Gordon are 70s movies released a year too late.
no one EVER talks about the Return Of Captain Invincible! In my opinion the greatest so bad it's good film of all time!
It's not the 80's. It's the '80s.
Somebody please remake Puma Man 😁
these are supposed to be movies....not t.v....I watched all of them...did you catch "misfits of science"?..surprised you got super fuzz... :)
This is the "Golden Age"??????
Star Wars copied Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers movies from 1930's also King Arthur movies.
George Lucas maintained that Star Wars was always influenced by all those plus the work of Akira Kirousawa.
Conan.....
Sword and Sandal, not superhero.
@@aaronleverton4221 Conan is a long running marvel comic from the 70s where. Many marvel crossovers occurred.
@@desmondnaugler4452 Robert E Howard, pulp novels, 1932,
You can't seriously be ignorant enough to think Marvel created Conan.
Iconic? What is the standard for that label? Pal, you need to take an English class. This is a fun video but you got to try a dictionary. 🙄 Plus, Tim Burton’s Batman movie did not send Batman on its way to being one of the most “iconic” superheroes…it was well established decades earlier in comics, toys and tv. 🙄🙄 # bornyesterday
Its very well known that Batmans popularity was at an all-time low following the Batman tv show. You have never heard anyone say that? And you are some kind of Batman expert are you?
If yo8 are going t mention the Superman movie from the 70s then why not the Spiderman movie from 1977? It was the first movie I watched on our video player.
So superhero movies in the 19 eighties and then proceeds to list superman from 1978
The sequels were all in the 80s plus I believe the original had a long theatrical run.
