What Is Anisometropia?
Vložit
- čas přidán 15. 08. 2024
- Anisometropia is the difference between the refraction of one eye over the other. For example, if one eye is farsighted and the other is not, it sets up this problem where there is an image difference that can cause confusion in your brain. This can happen with astigmatism or nearsightedness as well. Learn more about this condition from Dr. Julie, and how our clinic can help you.

It's nice that there's a condition for me!
I noticed I started developing this in 3rd grade and my vision was not working together and I got frequent headaches. It's hard to describe how I see now I have glasses that I never stop wearing I love them.
My vision is
-1.5 in left eye
-4.5 in right eye
Apparently they expected me to be "more messed up" then I actually was and I adjusted quite quick
Congratulations Bella in not turning out worse than they expected! But, if you wish to be better than you expect, then we can help! :)
My Left eye has -0.5 and right -2.5. I don't have A lazy eye yet. I can see pretty well with both eyes combines though. Should i wear glasses all the time?
I have anisometropia but do not want to wear contacts. Can my prescription be corrected with glasses?
Great explanation! Thank yiu!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Left: -1,00 -1,00 x14
Right: -0,25 -0,25 x8
Is my prescription considered anisometropia?
I do notice the uneven focus without wearing glasses.
No it would me - +
I have anisometropia my left eye have a normal vision but my right eye has a blurry vision. Is that normal? It doesn't affect my living, reading watching and even driving it doesn't affect. Is it required to me to wear a glasses or contact lense?

you should probably get glasses because, i am farsighted in one eye and nearsighted in the other. your brain will end up favoring one eye that could leave you cross eyed later on in life (which is normal if not treated)

That’s a question for the doc who prescribed those. We aim to help people reduce their prescription and correct astigmatism to possibly eliminate lenses.
I have anisometropia. My left eye sees perfectly but my right eye is super blurry. I do not want to wear glasses. How do I fix this 😭

Can you please recommend any book for syntonic laser therapy
We don't really recommend books on that therapy. We advise you seek the help of a trained professional.
I have strabismus. I underwent three operations with no luck so far and I was told that nothing can be done anymore but I am free to go to other surgeons to ask for different opinions. Anyways, my eyes have different eyesight as well. I use one eye to read or look at stuff that are near and I use the other eye to look far. I just found out recently that having different eyesight is not normal and is a condition. None of my doctors told me that. I am wondering if my eyes are refusing to align together because of this condition. But if that was true a doctor would have at least told me that right? Anyway I do have a question. Does the lazik surgery fix it. If yes could this actually also fix my strabismus?
Hi There. Lasik does not remedy the strabismus and typically the poor eyesight is caused by the underlying issues. So usually what we find is someone who undergoes lasik in the presence of strabismus will usually still end up needing stronger lenses later because the refractive power was caused by something else. This also applies to surgery and is why most people typically need multiple surgeries over the years which in itself is quite invasive, risky, and increases the probability of complications with each attempt.
Ultimately you have the choice, but it is worth noting that there is a better way in which you can correct your strabismus and also reduce your lens prescription without any form of surgery. So if you wish to discuss your case further to explore this path, you are welcome to schedule a consultation with us at www.visionforlifeoworks.com. Thanks for your question and we look forward to seeing you on the schedule!
how long does it typically take to treat patients who has a difference in 3 dipoters?
Everyone is different, which is why we do a series of examinations.
Can wearing a patch over the dominant eye help with the weaker eye? If I want to give this a try, how many hours per day should I wear the patch?

I have myopia in one eye -1.25 and astigmatism -0.25. I am 22 years old. Is LASIK useful? Or it can be like monovision
🤷♀️ I don’t recommend lasik since I believe myopia and astigmatism can be reduced without the need for surgery
@@visontherapy it’s can help me as monovision? When i get old? And thanks for answering
What's the difference between astigmatism and anisometropia?
Astigmatism- A visual defect in which the unequal curvature of one or more refractive surfaces of the eye, usually the cornea, prevents light rays from focusing clearly at one point on the retina, resulting in blurred vision.
Anisometropia is when two eyes have unequal refractive (prescription) power.
@@visontherapy Thank you!
Can excessive use of phone can lead to simple anisometropia?
Yes it can!
Yes and no… yes it can cause eye strain. But no the blue light doesn’t effect it
my prescription: L: +2.25, R: -1.25
Can I not wearing glasses?

Can this cause anxiety?
Per Dr. Julie: Yes, many visual problems can cause anxiety.
@@visontherapy thank you so much. I’ve been to my doctors and I could never really describe what I was feeling, but now I know.
