I saw a tv show a couple of years ago where it was restored. I, too watched this show as a kid and am glad to see that the truck and Greg Evigan are still around.
I have memories of the TV Shows I watched with my parents as well, I think many people do, bittersweet, because many of the parents have passed on now but still good to have (until we meet again, depending on your beliefs); wishing you health and happiness👍🌹
I used to watch that as a kid. Used to really think that show was something untill my dad got in early on a Friday night and watched it with me. I remember about every 5 mins he would say "you cant get away with that" or "you cant do that in a truck". We were watching the episode where he hanges his steer axel off a cliff. Have to be pretty heavy on your drive axels to pull that off!
I remember seeing that truck while taking a tour of the Universal Studios backlot way back in '79. (That was long before Universal was the theme park it is today.) It was pretty cool. They also had set pieces from Battlestar Galactica and the Six Million Dollar Man laying around.
@azsako Thank you for the replay, Allison maid heavy duty on-higway automatic transmission HT-740 4 speed, first in the 1971. I was talking to a person in NJ he was a big fan of the TV series ,he was telling me story about the truck and the transmission
Seen it in portage wi today talked to the old man driving her and yes its b e a u tiful although it had a newer 48 for the trailer it was awesome seeing it on the road runnin.
Someone here in Wisconsin has a replica of this truck, the original Movin' On rig and a Christine replica. He had them at the Iola car show a few years back.
@tractorguy100 I believe that all the trucks were used had the roun headlight bezals. I don't know how many were actually used for the shows. Some say 3. I love the ole Kenworth K-100E Aerodyne. I say one here just the other day here in southwestern Colorado at the truckstop, but it was one of the newer styles with the square headlights, square air horns, square clearance light on top of the cab, with the little more square type Kenworth grill Driver said it was a 91 year model.
Its stated that Greg Evigan seems like a nice fellow. But what I see in this vid is a guy who does'nt care that the truck, His co star so to speak has been brought back to life
Got to meet Greg at Des Moines ATHS show!!!! Super cool guy. The owner Paul and his father displayed the BJ and Bear truck and orginal trailer and the Moving On W900!!! Super cool guys!!!!!
@hunzolee You are absolutly right, 1971 so it is probably right that he wasn't able to drive stick, lol. Like Ponch in CHiP's had his scenes on a bike done on a trailer. Still a good show, wish RTN would run re-runs.
Back in '88 when I visited friends in Yuma,Az,there was a buttload of KWs the series had sold off afterwards.Every one I saw was still in "BJ McKay"livery as if it were a real company.I could be wrong if it was.
It may be fiberglass on the bottom where the headlights are, but the rest is steel & iron..and yes i've heard you could drive a cabover in private trucking companies that's why you have'nt much of them around as independent"s
In the final year of BJ and the Bear, didnt they have a different truck (K100E) that had rectangular headlights instead of the round ones? Any body know how many trucks were made for the show-altogether? 3-4?
I saw this truck running the I-5 in California a couple years back. Didn't occur to me if it was the real deal or not. Just thought it was some replica. Could it be?
If I had known about that I would have been there to check that out. I live on the coast of NC near the Outer Banks. Is there somekind of schedule of appearances and if so, do you have a website where I can read about these appearances? Thanks
Using an American expression "if it aint broke don't fix it", obviously the traditional way the Kenworth looks is appreciated by those who are likely to be/become customers, in which case it makes sense to keep "the look". Speaking as someone who knows nothing about mechanics or trucks the Kenworth is a mechanical work of art/very beautiful👍
watched it. wow I don't remember that. weird how they did that. course thats hollywood for you. They had several of these trucks. I know of 2 or 3 that are still around.
@azsako I like old trucker moves i just watch on youtube HIJACK old trucker move from the 70'. End of the move was look like the" Black Dog" was a remake.
This is an original owned by Paul Sagehorn. He also owns an original trailer. If some one has a clip from the show showing a flat top I'd like to see it. This is not a replica.
@heatherrose2006 I'm telling you what he told me. He has his CDL and is filming another movie where he drives a truck. I know how Hollywood works. And yes I have driven trucks from the 70s and 80s
@jpatt1000 not sure of his schedule. He may be at the Waupun, Wi truck show. Not sure the dates. Paul had the Movin On KW there also. I got a short ride in it. Got to sit in the BJ truck. I know a guy with another real BJ K100.
Beautiful truck - a mechanical work of art👍🌹
❤

Loved this show as a kid. Watched it quite a lot with my dad and it’s always a great memory.

Greg Evigan seems like a nice feller!
having driven this "KW"....i CAN TELL YOU THIS IS NOT ONLY A GREAT TRUCK...."but" it is a great feeling" just driving it. it was a great truck
My uncle had the same Kenworth when I was a kid with the same paint theme. It was the coolest pulp truck on the road as far as i was concerned
I used to watch that as a kid.
Used to really think that show was something untill my dad got in early on a Friday night and watched it with me.

One of my favourite tv shows as a kid back in the late '70's. Just managed to buy a model kit of the K100 but would love to see the real thing.
I remember seeing that truck while taking a tour of the Universal Studios backlot way back in '79. (That was long before Universal was the theme park it is today.) It was pretty cool. They also had set pieces from Battlestar Galactica and the Six Million Dollar Man laying around.
What a dream come true. I love that show and that Rig!

I don't see many cabover semi trucks out on the roads anymore like I used to back in those days.
Love it.

I'm sure they had several trucks throughout the series.
Thanks. I hope Tom has another one next year.
Awesome video - thanks for sharing it!! :)
That Red and White smashed in is the Coolest!! If I were a Trucker i'd have 1 just like that!
I would love to see BJ and the Bear on ME TV or Antenna TV like all the other Classic TV programs.

It had to be a very heartwarming reunion with that beautiful rig.now if only we had the bear there it would really be complete.
Cool video

it was there for the event. It is owned by Paul Sagehorn of WI.
@scatpack01 Hope it's in Milwaukee as the sign says ;-)
Greg Evigan was awesome in My Two Dads in the late 80s as well. I'm glad he seems to be doing well.
Got to meet Greg at Des Moines ATHS show!!!! Super cool guy. The owner Paul and his father displayed the BJ and Bear truck and orginal trailer and the Moving On W900!!! Super cool guys!!!!!

Very nice video.
KENWORTH - is the best brand in the world.
Very cool.
back in the late 70s I guess it was good money. He lived in his truck also. And he drove the truck. He has a CDL now also.
@hunzolee You are absolutly right, 1971 so it is probably right that he wasn't able to drive stick, lol. Like Ponch in CHiP's had his scenes on a bike done on a trailer. Still a good show, wish RTN would run re-runs.
this was in Concord, NC June 27 & 28, 09.

It was. They painted it yellow during the episode.
@jpatt1000 That would be Paul Sagehorn. He sold his replica and now owns this real BJ KW. He also has the original trailer.
@scatpack01 Does he go to shows often? I'd like to see it again!
Wowww wonder 👏👏💯
@a93gmc Freightliner discontinued the Argosy. Peterbilt still offers the 362E, but only on a special order basis.
he was working on a movie at the time this was filmed but I don't remember the name of it.
This event he was at wasn't part of the movie.
orale my frend
esta bueno tu video
thats awesome... were u at a nascar race. kinda looks like the hospitality village
It may be fiberglass on the bottom where the headlights are, but the rest is steel & iron..and yes i've heard you could drive a cabover in private trucking companies that's why you have'nt much of them around as independent"s
@throttlehard I also saw it on I-880 in the San Francisco Bay Area sometime last year or the year before that cant remember.
In the final year of BJ and the Bear, didnt they have a different truck (K100E) that had rectangular headlights instead of the round ones? Any body know how many trucks were made for the show-altogether? 3-4?
Great question. 11 years later and still no answer
excelente!!
I saw this truck running the I-5 in California a couple years back. Didn't occur to me if it was the real deal or not. Just thought it was some replica. Could it be?
Concord, NC in 2009
not sure how many were used. I know of 2 original ones though.
@blackandgold51 I believe this was a Cummins
@truckingjohnno7 you're welcome.
If I had known about that I would have been there to check that out. I live on the coast of NC near the Outer Banks. Is there somekind of schedule of appearances and if so, do you have a website where I can read about these appearances? Thanks
what is greg doing now? anyone know?
Its amazing that Kenworth have still the original outline for there trucks cabins since the late 60s from what I have seen
Using an American expression "if it aint broke don't fix it", obviously the traditional way the Kenworth looks is appreciated by those who are likely to be/become customers, in which case it makes sense to keep "the look". @thedueltruck600 yes it does.
Never actually seen BJ deliver one load on his show.....Lol
oh he delivered loads allright... every episode featured some hot broad in distress that needed the help of a drifter and his ape 🤣🤣
Where was this took?
does any body know what happened with the bear ?
watched it. wow I don't remember that. weird how they did that. course thats hollywood for you. They had several of these trucks. I know of 2 or 3 that are still around.
no. Paul Sagehorn from Wis does.
Actually the "orginal" in the pilot movie was a flat top k100 truck.
@azsako I like old trucker moves i just watch on youtube HIJACK old trucker move from the 70'. End of the move was look like the" Black Dog" was a remake.
@lisamariemary you're welcome

Actually, he's right. It was a flat top.
the truck had a 8v92 detroit diesel in it
a buck a mile was real good money in the 1970's when diesel was $0.75/gallon, coffee was a dime, & truckstops were actually truckstops.
A buck and a half was his rate. No questions asked!!
Does Greg own the truck or was this just for the event?
what engine dose it have ?
one had a screaming Detroit
Is the OG BJ McKay non aerodyne still around ?
No idea on that one..
@@scatpack01 It is on the intros to the early episodes.
