- In this tutorial, I look at how to balance the light between already-illuminated lights and adding light to lanterns that are not illuminated. I explain the subtle art of blending lighting effects and achieving a realistic image.

Another beautiful day-to-night piece of photographic art. I appreciate the constant reinforcement on the basics like lighting a lamp and adding light to a wall from a lamp. It helps things to sink in for me. YOU DO SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL WORK. Thanks for the video.
Great to hear from you Marlin, thank you for the positive words, it keeps me motivated to make more videos😀

Good evening Jamie,
Again, thank you for sharing another day to night experience with us all. I truly appreciate what you're doing for all of us and keeping us all encouraged to keep advancing our photography skills. Thanks, Dennis
Thank you Dennis, yor comment is very much appreciated, it motivates me to keep doing these videos, which I very much enjoy 😀 and it is so nice to hear that you and others are encouraged to keep advancing...
Thank you for providing these tutorials. I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. Beautiful image!
thank you Larry 😀
Jamie - I really appreciate the effort you put into these videos. Where I live I don't have many good "cityscapes" to shoot, so I'm not really looking at doing too much of the day to night stuff. But you have opened my eyes to many LR and PS tricks that I am starting to use. So I am grateful for that.
Keep 'em coming!
Thank you Michael, as you know cityscapes is my thing, but I am happy to do portrait or landscape editing as well, let me know what you would like to see, 😀
excellent, a pleasure to listen you!
thank you 😀
Bellissimo Jamie. Another lovely shot.
Thank you Philip, much appreciated :-D
Love everything you bring to your trade,Do you use a tripod all the time or not?👍
Most of the time I use a Tripod, if I can, I use a Velbon UT-45 which folds down to just 300mm long, so it fits inside my camera bag, that way I always have it with me, rather than carrying a large tripod all the time 😀
Just love your work. Do you use a tripod all the time or not?
Generally Yes, as most of my shots are slower shutter speeds :-)
Excellent video! Two questions: Any advantage to denoise first step versus at end of editing? Secondly, are all masks and edits available after reopening file? Thx!
Hi Eric, yes he masks remain available after using Denoise, take a look at my video here:- czcams.com/video/cYQcjWxo2j0/video.html&ab_channel=JamieRMathlin. where I explain the denoise function in detail and whether to do it before or after your edits 😀
Another fantastic video. Jamie when i select lasso tool generative fill does not come up , i have to go to top menu and select it. Do you know how to get it working automatically. Many thanks jon
Hi Jon, you need to make sure that the 'Contextual Task Bar' is ticked in the Windows menu (near the bottom) then it should come up every time you make a selection 😀 let me know if this fixes the problem !
@@jamiermathlin thanks Jamie i will check later.
Good morning Jamie. It worked thank you for your assistance.
Hi Jamie I have been working through this tutorial with you and have hit a problem with the radial gradient tool. I can make the gradient with out any problem BUT I can not for the life of me get the resizing handles (white circle etc) that you have in the tutorial. Any advice on how I can bring these up? Thank you Craig
Worked it out, just hit H
