    I've been doing alternate day fasting and I love it! Biggest mistake I see people make on the feast day is not eating enough. If your in a caloric deficit you need to take whatever number that is and eat that plus half at LEAST. I usually double it and that's how your body has enough energy to sustain the whole way....1500 calories 4 days of the week is putting your body into starvation mode which is why the crashes and hunger cues are so bad by the second/third day if fasting

    ADF works well, but you must be consistent with good nutrition on eating days. I typically lose about 1.5 lb on fast days and gain back as much as a pound on “feast” days but I’m forever in a deficit so I continue to lose. I’ve also noticed in just a short time my appetite is greatly reduced, it takes much less to feel satisfied and the best part my mommy pouch has all but disappeared!!!

    I have never been 'brave' enough to do an alternate day fasting. I can and do complete intermittent fasting 16:8 It works for me....but I wonder what results I could have with longer fasts....you've given me food for thought!

    • @tissanhoward
      @tissanhoward  Před 3 lety

      The alternate day fasting protocol is pretty aggressive. I’ve heard of even more aggressive IF protocols like “rolling 48s” or “rolling72s” where people fast for 48 or 72 hours, eat one meal, then roll back into fasting for another ;8 or 72 hours😳 I do not see myself doing that😂 The 16:8 protocol is very doable and works for lots of people. If you’re interested in a longer fast, the 18:6 is just a little bit harder and will still allow for a decent-sized eating window. I can see myself going back to that eating window myself. So glad my video gave you food for thought🥰🤗 God bless you! 🙏🏽

YOU said you felt great & were not hungry as much during your eating window. So IF definitely was working & weight loss was going to continue gradually. Listen to your body, be patient & kind to it. I do omad most days of the week, and it is actually pretty easy. When I overdo my calories on a particular day, I will sometimes correct that the following day with a down day. As I am a fairly husky guy, I normally will do about 800 calories in one meal when I do a down day.
