What's your FAV American dessert?!🤩
You guys should try Mexican deserts!!!
Try some Brazilian food, please! 😊
You gotta include jello with whipped cream, deep fried oreos, and funnel cakes for American desserts 2 😂
Hot slice of apple pie with vanilla bean ice cream
Apple pie with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
I would say root beer floats are far more popular in the US than coke floats. Root beer seems to be one of those sodas that isn't popular anywhere else, though.
I agree. I've never had a coke float. Lol
Not really, it's more Iconic for sure BUT most people hates Root Beer. Hence why many diners and restaurants replaces them with Coke instead of Root Beer.
The 2 dinners near my home have Coke Floats instead of Root beer floats.
There is a joke about that that root beer phenomenon in an old show czcams.com/video/6VhSm6G7cVk/video.html I wonder if its because they aren't serving it cold with ice. I wonder if they would like Cream Soda
I cringed so hard when they said coke instead of root beer..
The Sarsaparilla root that used to be the root in root beer was replaced with sassafras. Unfortunately sassafras root is used in medicine in the rest of the world so, everyone immediately tastes like they are drinking medicine and “hates” the flavor because they associate it with being ill.
Banana Pudding was popluar long before Sex & The City became a tv show. 😂😂
Absolutely 😂😂 it's been popular for nearly a century I think
Yeah, after that comment I was searching my brain for an episode where they ate banana pudding?? Very confused.
Yeah but sex and the city made the dessert explode in popularity.
Ong people in the souf been eating that
They probably mean in Korea lol.
in america we have edible cookie dough that is made without eggs that you can just eat by itself and then we have cookie dough that we of course bake. the edible cookie dough does taste a bit different from the real cookie dough so i understand their reaction
the danger with cookie dough is the uncooked flour and not the eggs
@@qwertyuiopz123 It's both, but thankfully Pillsbury how makes their cookie dough safe for consumption without having to bake it!
@@qwertyuiopz123 Both can get you sick but the flour is more likely to get you sick compare to eggs and not because its unsanitary. Flour got a lot of natural bacteria in it and when eating too much cases stomach aches. For eggs, the inside is 100% safe to eat raw. It's the outside you have to worry about. If the protect coating on the egg surface is broken or shell is cracked, bacteria and stuff can get inside the egg. Good news your chance of getting sick is very slim to none with all the preventive measure they companies took to make sure it does not happen. I've made a bunch of batter from scratch and never got sick after eating it. Only ones that need to worry are people with weak immune systems.
Nestle's has edible cookie dough, and they also have cookie dough ice cream. I have both of them in my fridge/freezer as we speak.
@@Kingdom_Of_DreamsNo, it's not. Raw cookie dough with eggs is safe to eat. You're just soft
As an american, that’s the first time i’ve seen someone pick up a piece of apple pie and a piece of pumpkin pie and eat it with their hands. 😂 Those are some sturdy pieces of pie.
Probably frozen pies. The crust is solid, crust should be flakey. Yuck 😢
As an American, it's odd seeing someone eat a slice of pie with their hands. It's like watching someone eat a sandwich with a fork and knife. lol
Banana pudding has always been popular way before Sex In The City. Its a staple in black american and southern culture. But next gotta add the Jackson or Nilla wafers to it lol
America agrees.... caramel apples are delicious but really really hard to eat.
I actually eat them at home where I can slice them. So much easier that way. 😉
Messy too.
The first bite is always the hardest.
For Kyeong Yeon: There are American desserts that are made with tart fruits, so there is a tart/sweet thing going on when you eat them....Key Lime Pie, Lemon Meringue Pie, Cherry Pie, any dessert with citrus fruits (for instance, cheesecakes made with oranges or lemons), whole fruit popsicles usually have a little tartness. You can make cakes that aren't too sweet also, with before-mentioned fruits or fruit and nuts together (banana bread is one).
Rhubarb pie. Rhubarb is extremely tart.
Ooooh banana bread sounds good now
Came here to say Rhubarb or Rhubarb Strawberry pie.@@JustMe-dc6ks
As for the cherry pie it depends if you're using tart or sweet cherries. 😉
I was looking for this comment.
we have a lot of lemon desserts...lemon drop cookies, lemon bars, etc...we also have fruit tarts but i feel as if those aren't really popular amongst the younger ones anymore
dont forget key lime pie. one of my favs!
I love a good slice of lemon poppyseed cake. 👍
I looove lemon bars, but don't eat them often.
I probably wouldn't call cookie dough a favorite in America 🤷🏻♀️
Root beer floats are the classic, coke isn't really a float staple 😕
Also caramel apple is better and easier if you cut it into slices. Make it easier to eat that way.
Apple pie and vanilla ice cream are a great pair 😄
Well cookie dough could be in away since kids use to eat the leftover cookie dough while the cookies where being baked, but I grew up eating freshly made cookie dough as my mom use to make two batches she will cook one batch and take the other batch for us to eat with a bowl of French vanilla ice cream.
It's easier to cut the caramel apple up into pieces.
Cookie dough is kinda a nostalgia thing. As kids we used to eat the left over cookie dough off the spoon or mixer while waiting for the cookies to bake.
I'm sixty and still enjoy leftover unbaked cookie dough.
Imagine having Pumpkin pie on Halloween. We carve pumpkins for Halloween but we eat pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving.
We always carve pumpkins and make pie throughout October and November. We even roast the seeds for snacking. In the small town I currently live in, we're surrounded by farms, so you have more families holding on to old traditions.
Pumpkin pie filling is made from sugar pumpkins, a smaller pumpkin with sweeter flesh. The pumpkins used for Jack o' Lanterns are carving pumpkins. They are not good for making pies or for roasting their seeds; I have tried and it turned out bad.
Pretty standard for Christmas too most places I've been.
I agree with other commenters that root beer floats are much better and much more popular in the US. I don't know that I've even ever had a Coke float.
They served a Coke Float possibly because they couldn't find root beer in any of the stores there (I could be TOTALLY wrong about this though since I've never been to South Korea!) In my experience, most Koreans and Japanese find that root beer and Dr. Pepper (my fav!) smells like medicine and tastes bad enough to be undrinkable!
@@matthewhiga4993Agreed. They consider the root beer flavor like a cough syrup or medicine, so Coke was probably the safest option. Like you, Dr.Pepper is my favorite, but that would likely be too sweet to them also.
Yeah, never even heard of a coke float tbh. But, I also have never seen cookie dough be served like this. A great chuckle, and I'm pretty sure this channel would lose their minds if they ever saw a fluffernutter.
I've never eaten s'mores except when camping around a fire. I've never had a coke float. There are several desserts they skipped that are more popular than some they included: cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, brownies. Tarts, crumbles (especially peach!), tortes (rhubarb is very tangy).
I think they wanted to choose things that aren’t common in Korea. They have cheesecakes and brownies all the time
S'mores are a treat people make while sitting around the fire camping. You don't need a refrigerator for the ingredients and children can make them. There are very nostalgic.
Root beer float, I've never seen it with Coke. Rhubarb Pie is more tart and sweet tasting. It's one of my favorites.
I’ve seen coke floats as often as root beer, but I bet they would hate root beer too lol
I’ve had both and like both, but I’ve had WAY more Coke floats. I can’t really say why, I just like them better.
My Mom used to get coke floats from Friendly's on a near daily basis. I used to get root beer floats from Johnny Rockets. Haven't had it in like 4 years though.
@@darkangel_1978 Your mom was eating ice cream floats daily? That makes me question her sanity a bit.
@@JimFeig well you don't have to worry about her sanity. She's been dead for 8 years, and it wasn't the coke floats that did her in. As for the coke floats, that only lasted for about a month.
I love banana pudding, sweet potato pie, Root beer floats and pecan pie ❤❤❤❤❤
Banana pudding, sweet potato pie and a specific pound cake are “must have’s” for every one of my family functions. My grand-aunt makes them and she has to make more than 10 of each during the holidays.
Tart desserts? Key lime pie is a must
They make it best in Florida, as you may know...Love it!
Root beer floats are more popular than coke floats and also if it is too hard to eat the caramel apples they can be cut into slices for easier eating.
i'm american and i have to say hands down my favorite pie is pumpkin pie so i'm happy they tried that. as far as my favorite american dessert in general, uhhh i would have to say bread pudding
Where are the cookies in that banana pudding?😭
Lots of Koreans think popular foreign brands in their country are from Korea. I met a girl who thought Dunkin' Donuts & Smoothie King was Korean....
I have never heard of a Coke float but of course you can use any soda to make a float.
They show the S'more and one of them started going on about America's obesity rate. We're talking about traditional desserts. You don't need to insult us 😭 The S'more is not something you eat all the time. It's like a camping/outdoors snack because you roast the marshmallow over a fire. Most Americans will have fond memories of eating them in their youth!
I'm sad they didn't like the cookie dough, but if your society isn't used to it, then it makes sense that they wouldn't like it. I wouldn't like most Korean desserts for the same reason 😂
Glad you guys tried caramel apples! They are delicious! The sweet and sour taste combination is iconic!
Rootbeer floats feels so nostalgic of the times i was young in school and we would get pizza and floats for rewards
There are so many top desserts. Peach cobblers or any cobbler. 😊
Anything invented by the Pennsylvania Dutch, really.
i think you should do a part 2 lol include banana bread with butter, pecan pie, boston creme pie, apple crisp, whoopie pie, and blondies
I was just so happy to see her liking the pumpkin pie.
I’ve never seen a coke float before? We usually do a root beer float
It's common in the south along with rootbeer floats
@@BunnyRea13 I've seen people put peanuts in their coke, ice cream is new.
Root beer is a medicine flavor in most countries so it's not really loved outside of america. Kind of like Marmite for the Australians
While I agree Root beer floats are more common, its a less liked taste for most of the world to the point its hard to find/nonexistent. Coke float is just an easier replacement in a lot of Asian countries.
I dont really eat a lot of the desserts you guys tried, but I agree with the caramel apple. I tried it once and was not a fan either but there are apple dipping options. There are other pies too. Sweet potato pie. My favorites are pecan pie and key lime pie and there are other fruit pies too. There are cheese cakes. Apple fritters, etc.
The apple crunch pie is better, we call it dutch apple, it has crumbles of brown sugar on the top, and with some vanilla ice cream on the side it is amazing. And Lemon Meringue Pie is my favorite.
Cookie dough seemed like a little bit of a cop-out considering the inordinate amount of desserts we have going on over here, honestly, but good call on the pies, and those s’mores looked as faithful as they could possibly be.
banana pudding is a southern dessert....YUMYUM!!!!
Banana pudding is eaten, national in the US.
@@marydavis5234 Yes, It has STRONG southern ties.
I wonder if it started out as a variation of the English trifle.
Randy's Donuts? Never heard of it here in the US.
Its an iconic landmark of LA. It has the big brown donut on top of it. Iron Man was sitting in it in Iron Man 2.
@@WhatUpDoe248 Which explains why most people have never heard of it.
Been to the one in imglewood by sofi stadium. It's pretty okay donuts.
ice cream floats are the best. I once did black cherry ice cream with cherry ginger ale. Delicious!
A slice of warmed up Dutch Apple Pie for dessert on a cold winter night? Pure Heaven.
This is what they should’ve tried! Nothing like a warm homemade apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
@@Mangoshii 😋Especially on a cold winter night.😋
@@alonenjersey as a Wisconsinite, I approve this comment 😂
@@Mangoshii Good to read your response. Thanks. I guess we all need some kind of approval in our lives.
The caramel apple was fun to watch... my only wish is that they were given a candied apple with its hard and brittle shell! Always a favorite as a child.
To eat that, I have to hit it with a hammer first.
We slice the caramel apple and keep all of the pieces together in a parchment paper similar to a cupcake liner so you can pick it up
We dont eat pumpkin pie for Halloween, but we do buy alot of pumpkins to decorate
S'mores are in a game called Kingdom of Loathing; they give crap stats at first, but, the more you eat, the better they get, but can only eat so many per run, as every S'more also costs +1 more food space point than the last one you ate.
Never heard of Randy's donuts, east or west coast. And it's better to cut the caramel apples than to bite it off the stick. P.s. it's cute they eat the pies like pizza because why not.
When I buy caramel apples, I bite straight into them 😂
@@Kingdom_Of_Dreams sure lots of people do, but I get caramel in my cheeks and hair and its not very efficient, that is why i said it's better to cut it. I much prefer the rockymountain chocolate caramel apples though, with more than just caramel they put like white or milk chocolate and other toppings mmmmm. And they do cut the apples and serve it on a small plate, since the chocolate will crack and fall off, makes it easier to share too if you are so inclined. Now i want one...
I found the negative reaction to cookie dough to be an interesting cultural difference. For Americans, cookie dough is a taste that takes us back to childhood memories of helping our mothers or grandmothers in the kitchen and licking the mixer batons afterwards. Also, I feel that eating cookie-dough started as a joke in American movies and American television programs. Cookie dough was eaten by characters that were either broken-hearted or too lazy to bother with baking. It had a negative connotation but eventually it became its own place as a dessert. Rather than eating straight up I recommend having some cookie dough ice cream instead. Thanks, Katchup for bringing joy to people everywhere!
I've always seen Rootbeer floats as opposed to Coke floats as most of the comments have mentioned, but another variant I grew up on was Purple Cow. It's an ice cream float with grape juice. So good!
This is a first I've heard about coke float. Root beer float is quite popular and familiar for most people. Pumpkin pies are not made from large pumpkins used to carved for Halloween. Pumpkin pies are usually made from smaller pumpkins, and mostly eaten on Thanksgiving, not Halloween. My kids prefer s'mores during camp. It's nostalgic. My kids enjoy toasting their marshmallows at the camp fire. Like everyone have said, caramel apple is better to slice in quarters and then eat it. The only thing I don't like about it is the apple gets soggy from the caramel after awhile. By the way, that's a lot of cookie dough. I personally don't eat raw cookie dough.
Now, these desserts are not eaten on a daily basis. Most of these are eaten during a season or an event/occasion. Apple pies and pumpkin pies are usually eaten during Thanksgiving, s'mores during (summer) camp, caramel apple at the fair, root beer floats can be made at home anytime, etc.
2:19 he looked so cute when he stuffed it in his mouth 😭- he looks like a chipmunk
For a tart dessert I’d do lemon merengue pies, you know you have a good filling when it is so tart it is on the verge or being sour. The merengue is sweet to balance it.
Uh... we don't usually eat cookie dough raw. It's possible but it's not as common as people want to believe.
Isn't taht usually with Ice Cream?
It's common that people love to eat cookie dough while someone is making cookies, which eventually lead to companies making "cookie dough" products which are safe to eat (no raw egg) and should be less "sandy" and such. As they are designed for eating and not baking. But, cookie dough is absolutely a popular desert and flavor of many deserts. Cookie dough (for eating) sold on its own, cookie dough ice cream, cookie dough cake, cookie dough shakes, cookie dough flavored bars and so on.
@@nathanp2007 Pillsbury actually changed their raw dough recipe so it's safe to eat raw or baked.
Bruh im always eating the cookie dough and when you go to the movies you can eat cookie dough bites
"It's possible"
lol A lot of people eat raw cookie dough.
In the cookie dough we normally eat, the flour is toasted (precooked) and there are no eggs, so it's safe to eat.
The caramel apple is meant to be cut and not to be had all at once. 😂 I'm not a fan of desserts, but when I do have one, it's Lemon Meraign (spelling?) Pie.
Caramel apples are difficult to eat. You also have to use the right apple. Granny Smith are probably one of the better apples for it. They are smaller and more tart than others so it goes better with the sweet caramel.
Apple pie is a staple American dessert, but we actually stole it from the Dutch! So, there are two versions of apple pie! Americans adopted their own version, derived from Dutch settlers way back in the colonial days! It’s such an American staple, during World War II, soldiers would say “for mom and apple pie” implying they are fighting for their mothers and freedom (as America is represented by apple pie, and America equals freedom).
I don't see a lot of ppl eating cookie dough normally. I feel like cookie dough ice cream is slightly more common
Raw cookie dough is one of the forbidden desserts. We know we aren't supposed to but sometimes rationality leaves us and we eat a spoonful.
Sweet potato pies made by my cousin and my friend are the best I’ve ever eaten in my life. My grandma made apple and sweet potato pies until she was 97 years old.😋😜
As an American, if you thought Caramel Apples were hard to bite, try a candied apple. It's almost completely hardened candy around an apple. One bite and you'll probably lose a tooth.
Plenty of tart desserts in America. Like lemon anything will be tart. I also can’t do heavily sweet things
I have watched Korean videos eating live small octopus. YES. It was head first and tentacles were all over man's face. I will eat desert anytime.
That was horrifying. My brother worked at an aquarium when he was 17, and he loved their octopus. She'd slink over to be petted when he brought her food, and clasp his arm so that he'd stay with her longer.
I've never had a coke float. love Root Beer floats though
Long time favorite is Cherry pie, My family always made a bit tart. A La Mode of course.
They should try Sweet Potato Pie! . . .made with a weee bit mo 'love' than pumpkin. :D . . ." "Also, they might partake in a slice of Boston Cream Pie."
I feel like all the caramel apples I've gotten didn't have a hard shell of caramel, but more a thick and soft caramel that's still kinda difficult to take a bite of but not like you guys struggled!
Potato candy, buckeye balls, strawberry rhubarb pie, and a mixed berry cobbler.
-Sweet potato pie! 🥧
-Been eating banana pudding for as long as I can remember
-Just bite the apple like a normal apple 🤣
-I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a coke float
Rather than apple pie, I grew up with apple crisp. Growing up in Iowa, my mom would use the apples off of the tree we had in our backyard - amongst my favorite memories of my mom, may she rest in peace.
Never had a coke float, I have always had a root beer float. My favorite is Pumpkin Pie, and it doesn't matter what time of year it is. I don't care for the caramel apple.
Apple & pumpkin pie are staples at holiday feasts, if you were to try another pie I'd suggest pecan pie.
I never eat cookie dough on its own but in vanilla ice cream it's pretty good
Caramel apples are one of those foods you might see at a state fair, I don't think it's something people have very often.
Coke float would definitely be a root beer float in America, but I've come to understand root beer is not a well liked flavor outside of the USA, so doing coke instead makes sense. I also like it with orange soda, orange & cream is another flavor combination we have (Orange creamsicle popsicles)
I’ve only had edible cookie dough and smore when my family goes camping😂
I like these shows
I absolutely love Asian people, Aiiiiiiiah! 😊
When I was like 12-13 years old, I remember these boxes that had apple pie, cherry pie, and other pies. I remember loving the apple. But now, it doesn’t taste the same.
Someone send them some Graham Crackers to make those smores with and some good cookie dough! The fridge cookie dough is way better even though its not healthy for you at all.....I can still hear my grandma fuss at me for eating raw cookie dough
Next month they will add Korean fusion to these same deserts and make it better like they did with fried chicken, toast sandwiches, and corn dogs.
You can't have 'nana pudding without NIlla Wafers in it :).
Growing up in the US, my family would often go camping out in the woods. Part of the experience was toasting marshmallows over the fire and making s'mores. However, I didn't like the marshmallows and would just eat all the graham crackers and chocolate instead. Needless to say, my parents were not happy being left with only a bag of marshmallows. 😂
They need to try Lemon meringue and key lime pie.
As an American I will pass on the coke float 😅
You did them dirty with those so-called "s'mores."
I’ve had a couple kinds of floats and while I don’t like root bear floats, they are like way more popular than coke floats
The candy or caramel apples - I usually cut my up in order to eat it... Otherwise it is hard to bit in to... And the pumpkin pies are more of an northern state dessert - while in the southern states it's sweet potatoes. And, also - many dessert go by region/state...
The only way to eat Smores is while they are still warm around the campfire.
The producers messed up. A float should only be done with Root Beer. Also, cookie dough. That's best combined with ice cream. Not just by itself.
In the southern USA, banana pudding is always homemade and can be healthier.
Well you kinda have to make the things the right way for them to taste correct lol
Oh man, I wish they got to try rootbeer floats or cream soda floats instead of coke floats.
I am from NY and ice cream floats are no longer popular. It's really rare to see someone drink one. It was popular about 50 years ago.
Cookie doe is usually a thing that is added to something else, like cookie dough ice cream, or maybe donuts? Could eat it alone, but I don't think many people would.
Smores...are really best when you char the marshmallow a little over hot coals. Got to be careful because you want them to be hot enough to very soft, but not to burn your mouth. You won't enjoy the marshmallow if it gets cold and chewy.
Nobody really eats caramel apples. They look iconic, but most people just try them once. If you like it, then it's better just to dip apple slices into heated caramel.
Last, I have enjoyed some time in Korea and would love to do so again some day. I love the Korean food!
I can understand how people might not like some of these without the context of growing up with them.
As an American, only half of these are popular in America. A lot of the desserts in the video looked off colored like the pumpkin pie. And the caramel apple is supposed to be sliced and have peanuts on it!
Caramel apple...pull out the stick and cut it into 6 pieces. So much easier to munch on.
Try it with rootbeer instead of cocacola Americans love their rootbeer float
I'd say root beer floats are more common. I think what you have there is an ice cream float. The cookie dough thing? I don't know if this brand exists in Korea, but the Toll House Chocolate Morsels have a recipe on the back. That's the cookie dough we eat in my house anyway.
Im from texas and I never had a coke float that a new one on me but I have had root beer float and that the bomb.
Any kind of float is delicious
I used to make coke floats with chocolate ice cream. It disgusted my family members which was part of the charm. We usually have pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It more likely to be made out of canned pumpkin than a fresh pumpkin. Lot of people just buy them at the store. My sister makes her apple pie from fresh apples instead of apple pie filling and it is a million times better than store bought.
I always want a candy apple when I see one, but then I try to eat it and I regret everything.
The best American desserts would be like molten lava chocolate cake or chocolate peanut butter ice cream.
You typically have the caramel apples sliced. Alternatively, you can first slice the apples, then dip them in caramel.
I think sometimes their understanding of American foods could be better. Several of these I won't even call a Dessert mainly the Float, the Caramel Apple, Cookie Dough, and the S'mores as those can be seen more as snacks not something eaten after a meal. Plus, Root Beer floats are way more common then using something like Coke, but Root Beer seems to be unpopular outside of the US. Also, not sure if that was proper Cookie Dough or not, as there is a difference. As for the Caramel Apple, you can eat it off the stick, but I would have cut it up as its a lot easier to eat. Oh the S'mores is also questionable with the cracker/cookie they used, but understandable about not liking marshmallow or American chocolate.
