- Singer/songwriter Eliza Gilkyson wrote Requiem as a song of grief following the Asian tsunami in December 2004, and the song found a renewed audience after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast region. It is now widely performed as a prayer for disaster victims worldwide. The Seattle Choral Company dedicates their first virtual choir recording to the victims of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Wonderful version! A bit more up-tempo from most other versions I have heard. I performed this song several years ago with my choir in a concert and the audience was very moved, as was the choir.

@@gailwjcan agree. Performed this recently for me collegiate choir, and I’d have to say that slowing it down a bit from what we see here helps make it a more emotional peace
