Wow !! What a beautiful song . I only heard her singing very recently (Dylan's "Love minus zero no limits") and just don't know how I have never seen or heard her before. She's a wonderful singer and has a beautiful , humble personality . 🤍

This is just wonderful. I saw Eliza open for Richard Thompson some years ago. What a great night. Besides her own songs, I love her versions of Love Minus Zero, which follows this, and Jokerman.

I lived in Santa Fe from 77 to 90 and met Lisa through a mutual friend. We visited her at her home in Galisteo and lunched at a nearby restaurant and some time later saw her perform at a bar there. Thinking of it now I remember it as being the way Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico were back in 1970 when I first went there and spent the winter: a totally non-touristy small town of just 35,000, dead in winter and certainly not the Chi Chi Californicated tourist trap that it became in the '80s with all the famous New York and Hollywood stars buying homes there. Even i the late 80s Galisteo was just a tiny off the beaten-track village south of I-25 on Hwy 14 that nobody ever went through because it was just beyond the State Penitentiary, a place that was off-putting for most people after the riot and prison break in 1980 which was the most violent prison riot in American history. So as a benefit of that galasteo remained totally sleepy and rurally small.

I've heard she doesn't do the "old tunes" anymore. She's changed, grown? Well, we all do, so yes, i can see change here. But as she moves through the various regions of her "self" something remains of whatever it is that makes us who we are. The trick, for some, is to find and make peace with it.
