    Amazing performance by Renee Fleming. She sounds ill and dying and simultaneously like herself, with that voice one loves. Joseph Calleja's voice is beautiful and his performance here seems to me impeccable.

      Cynthia, I can only agree. Nobody's upstaging anyone here, these two are both brilliant and use subtlety as well as effortless power and even deliver good acting in what seems to me the best production to date of this wonderful opera. I just wish I had seen it live.

    My God what a stunning performance indeed. How much better can you get in music then a great Verdi aria with Fleming's flawless genius and a divine tenor as Joseph Calleja, whom i hardly knew uptill now. This is so beautiful, I do am so grateful to be part of this beautiful vocal spectacle, time after time.

    • @tristanhnl
      @tristanhnl Před 4 lety +1

      @Nicholas Ennos ok, regarding the "super resonant singing stage", I'm aware of that. That's pretty much how opera houses are designed. It's not just the stage that's engineered to reflect sound, but the entire auditorium. The Met has the biggest auditorium out of all the opera houses, and it's also considered to have one of the best acoustics. I was only asking about ROH using microphones since Eman Camilleri made that comment about Calleja's voice being more beautiful without one.
