Kirsten Flagstad's Norway-sized middle voice in The Atlas

I think the title speaks for itself...
Except from a BBC Third Programme (the predecessor of Radio 3) broadcast dated July 5th, 1948.
She performed seven songs in total for the broadcast, self-accompanied(?). I will post the rest when I get around to cleaning them. She interpolates a very low note in one of them!

Beautifully sung and beautifully played. Her voice was perfect for Schubert, she recorded many leider of his in her late years.

I think she was a really great lieder singer. It is nice hearing these songs performed operatically.

@@dramaticsoprano5168 I mean in a grand fashion. Lieder can sometimes really be hyper-intellectualized and scaled for small rooms.

Give me a moment to find the original file on my computer I’ll post a link for you. I am cautious, like you say, of things getting lost in audio clean up but I try not to overdo it for that reason. I didn’t notice any losses in this one.
