- We’ve been taught to hold on to things. And in our material world, life has become a possession too - we cannot seem to let it go. It seems to have become more acceptable to "rage against the dying of the light" and fight to the bitter end, than to take stock of what life has been about and to be at peace with death.
Dying is not about hanging on. It’s about letting go, reconciling, finding peace.
And when we learn to do that, we learn to live life.

My late partner died in 2012 from cancer and one off the last things he said to me was “ you must live your life now” , so that’s what I’m doing, I’m not the greatest but I’m being my best self and enjoying everything that I love. “There comes a point when you are prolonging death and not life, each one needs to know where that is for them”. I love this. My brother knew. He passed at 51 after being sick since he was 16 with severe Crohn’s disease. The nicest person you would ever want to meet and it was hard to let him go for sure. 💕

I learned that lesson when my beloved Dad was dying of cancer...i came home to help care for him. I cared for him daily,for 7 months. It was a bittersweet time for us, but he taught me the last lesson. How to die with honor and to not fear it. Thank u for this podcasts.

It was the same with my Dad. His last words were I love you. So glad my Dad has no more pain. My Mom died 5 years later. They each decided when they were through with cancer treatments. We must respect their choices. I still miss them every day, but I still feel their love, even 24 and 19 years later. Love doesn't die.
"Trust and just love... unconditionally.
And so you're able to love somebody to the absolute fullest
even knowing that they're going to be dying
and especially that they're dying.
All the makeup goes away,
all the material possessions fall away.
They have a moment to be authentic
and to be accepted and not judged,

My mum would say : " I'm getting old and haven't long in this world" And us kids would chastise her and tell her to stop being so negative. Afcourse we were just afraid at the thought of loosing her. Mum would then say :" What, do you expect me to live forever?"
We'd all go quiet.
I now say the same thing to my kids and I genuinely believe it helps prepare them for that day when we pass away. When my mother became terribly ill I had time to say goodbye but it did not change how grief stricken i became ..took me 3 years to come out the other side. I still hear her ask " What, did you expect me to live forever?" I now gave the answer. When I was very young I did expect her to live forever. Now that im more mature I know non of us is immortal and i want my kids to accept that i g is the reality of life. I want them to be able to be prepared for life...a future for themselves.

I remember my lovely dignified grandma too, nonna Cinzia. Growing up in Italy in the 70s, we also never talked about emotions or about anything deep at all, I don't even know anything about her childhood and life before becoming my grandma. I regret not asking questions and now it is too late. My grandma was not well-educated but she was so kind and loving, the only person in my life who has loved me unconditionally and not asked for anything back.

I am fortunate to see the videos on this channel and all the wisdom that people share from their lives. I especially liked this lady's house. It is a marvel. I however want to say that it is better to distance oneself from people (even family) if they have loose ethics, integrity, and are toxic. We cannot let them do things that are harmful to our well-being, again and again. Each time it takes away some bit of our own self. We got to protect who we naturally are. So we cannot just 'let go' of negative things every time they happen from the same individual, friends, or family.

God bless this remarkable lady, she spoke with such kindness & knowledge of people in pain, because she was a nurse & was right there with those dear people who were dying & most of all she learned lots about people’s last thought & wishes, as they would talk to her & being so glad she had this remarkable understanding of death & its nearness to her when dear Grandma was dying it was beautiful to hear her kind & loving words that she had with Grandma, but , also learning that letting go of physical stuff& just being herself & feeling the Peace that surrounds loved ones & their dying loved one feeling the Peace of letting go!! Thank you my dear lady , for this beautiful & uplifting true story & how happy you are in yourself , for letting go !! There is a wonderful Peace & Power awaiting us when we die. Thanks for sharing this information with us all. We will all be in touch with our mortality and the blessings of finding our peace in our deaths. It is so much harder to lose someone that you love , than to be the person who is dying. I died and it was instantly out of the world, the pains, and I was not concerned or afraid. I was dead for 15 or 20minutes, and then I was back in my life. Ouch! That is the way it was. I was very concerned about the people who were in my life, they were very upset and worried about me and they were so frightened that I was going to die again soon.
That was a decade ago.. death is inevitable and you can't live with the fear of death,, why? Where is the joy and happiness in life? What is life worth living in the fear and loss of life? Embrace life with jubilation and celebration and boogie til you drop.

I have 9 older siblings and we all have shared nature with our kids..and embrace life and love and giving. My life has been wonderful because of love. Yup, INFJ here too. I wish this beautiful woman had been with me during the AIDS crisis of the 90's. Human beings became savages and animals. Family, friends, lovers, employers, medical teams and mortuary service people, all denied us service, care, love and the rites of a proper burial. I buried 200 of my friends. Many of them were destitute, and alone in the end, it was the saddest experience I've ever had to live through.
When it came my turn and I knew what I was up against, I made arrangements so that No one had control over my mortal remains and burial. That truly pissed my family off that they no longer had control and none of them ever spoke to me again. That was over 30 years ago now. I have my husband and that is it. No family, no friends. Very sad indeed.
We're so sorry to hear that you had to endure something like this. To say goodbye to so many friends, must be devastating. And to feel abandoned by society when help is needed most. We hope that, as humans, we learn and grow from these events of the past, choosing to fill our hearts with greater love, compassion and care. We send you love! Much of it.
