- “Sonder” is the profound realisation that each person you meet is living their own life, with their own personal worries, pains, pleasures, ambitions - the same as you, in a sense, but also as intricate and as different as could be imagined.
It brings forth the idea that there are millions of stories happening all at once, around each other, oblivious and contained from one another. Sonder opens our eyes to what we can’t see - that there is so much more to each of us than meets the eye. It grants us the chance for connection with others in a way that truly allows us to feel and empathise. And when we begin to experience it and eventually live with it, we begin to see others the way we want to be seen.
Each whispered story, each silent sigh, becomes a melody that resonates within us, teaching us the symphony of human existence. It is then that we discover the beauty of our shared humanity, forging bonds of love that transcend the boundaries of time and space.

So true, my experience though is that people in my city get defensive and suspicious if you approach them with a smile. Really sad we have become so disconnected and estranged from each other. One step at a time and believe 🙏

This is just what I needed tonight. “Sonder”. It’s not easy being naturally empathic. I used to dislike that term but that’s exactly what I used to think was the problem, what was wrong with me. The anxiety that you can’t put you finger on, the heaviness of it all. And as I watch this man speak, it changes my perspective on it. It’s a beautiful world and people are special, it doesn’t have to be painful.

I used to think that giving love was corny too. What I realized was this was my own defence against Self Love. As I began to appreciate and experience my own worth, I was able to open up a little to be more generous with loving others. I also experienced saying, "Love You" in my emails, texts, and phone calls to people I truly love, was liberating! It didn't matter if they didn't say it back - I need that less. The fear of being vulnerable in saying "I love you" takes courage, as you may not get it back. This is my lesson of giving the gift without the expectation of how it is received.
I appreciate this man's courage and insight into the expression of love as something us humans need to do to heal ourselves and others. Who doesn't need love?

Damn this hit hard! Honestly been selfish with not wanting to pull the rope but realize that it is a part of who I am. I need to pull on the rope no matter what, even if it only gets others to do the same. This morning while driving to work, the music had me moving (bouncing around) in my car. Initially I didn't want other drivers to see me, a little embarrassing, until I saw the person in front of me moving and bouncing around. If nothing, be the spark. Great vid, thanks for sharing!

In my current job, I talk to a lot of people on the phone. Sadly, I realize that there are many people who are very disrespectful. We need more respect in the world, more love. So remember, we all have issues, nobody's perfect, but we all need to be treated with respect and love as human beings. 💚

I know what it feels like to be ignored and yes sometimes is hurts but we are on a spiritual journey. You have such a deep understanding of people and the importance of being seen and appreciated. I have always been that way too. Always, personal, and interested in humans, loving joyful sad or, growing and changing and being with each others.
