I loveee this! I recently did passion twist but I twisted the hair in. I loved the style but found it really left my hair a bit too vulnerable, exposed and dried out because of the product I used when I twisted the hair in. But this method would definitely protect my hair more.
Your version is bomb & I’ll definitely try this method!

First off you did a great job. Second you've given me some ideas about crochet braids. The way you braided your own hair in squares around the hair line, because my hair is too thin around the edges but thick in the top toward the back. I have been contemplating in letting someone French braid my hair but it's too thin to be pulled on but upon seeing how you did yours really help me to do mines, thanks 👍😁
