Nung late 1977 nag umpisang magbenta ang Salambao Restaurant sa Baclaran sa may Roxas Blvd ng ganitong food packaging. Tinawag itong "balot-balot". Waiter ako sa Restaurant na ito mula 1976 hanggang 1981. Under ito ng Barrio Fiesta chains...maganda itong idea na ito dahil grab and go style ito. Sa dahon din ng saging binabalot ang pagkain.Tamang Tama sa mga busy at nagmamadali.Unfortunately nagsara ang restaurant 1981

Actually, nagpapaorder din po kami ng food and sa bahay lang po namin cya niluluto, relyeno bangus, cordon bleu, fresh lumpia, and also may party tray din po kami. If this is the Binalot original, then i ate once in Intramuros branch..dunno if nandon pa yun...now meron na sa airport T3... Akala ko nga nawala na sila kc early 2000's pa ko nakakain sa Binalot. Kc biglang umeksena c Mang Inasal kaya natabunan ang Binalot.... matagal na ang Binalot (if sila nga yan, iba kc name ng kitchen ni mam eh...). I was glad ng makita ko sa T3 branch nila dun...dilang ako kumain kc jollibee gusto ng mga kids hahahah

butuan banana leaf po yung nabibili sa palengke na ginagamit sa binalot.kc pag ibang dahon ng saging ang ginait may mapait po nun. at hindi kasing hahaba at kasing lalaki ng butuan leaf yung ibang saging .ang butuan na saging lang ang lumalaki at lumalapad.

I encountered this meal sometime in 1992 while in PTC, Carmona,Cavite, where factory workers settled for this meal as the best option being cheap and delicious as well. I remember a meal was at P35 per meal.

Tatlong kainan ko na po yang ulam, dagdagan ko na lang ng steamed okra or talbos ng kamote. Kung isa ako sa mga customers mo, maski doblehen ko ang ibabayad sa iyo .❤

sa banana leaves na for food, mostly po ung butuan variety..pero if mga regular types eh bale dinapo un for fruit purpose ginagawa...fokus nalang ung production nia for leaves production ....
