I like that he can change his mind without any excuses. It's nice to see someone understand that being wrong isn't a bad thing.

Just a suggestion. Before sharpening the knife test it's current sharpness, then use the tool. That way it shows how well the tool does with "maintenance" THEN break out the cinder block to show how it handles a pure dull knife

I remember when I found your channel I thought "this is cool, I like this content but there's no way reviewing random products will get him far" boy was I wrong. Still making great content with no sign of slowing.

My favorite videos of Tyler are definitely the knife ones

  • @GhostFireHaze-rp7zn

My favorite videos of tyler are definitely ones with tyler in it

  • @taylorwarwick1001

Finally a video where I can relax that nothing is going to kill Tyler. At least he knows his knives well

Hey, one of the people who sharpens knives for a living, with a pull through sharpener such as this one, you don't want to put too much pressure down as you're pulling it through, you want just enough pressure that the blade doesn't bounce around, which would give you uneven edge quality, listening to it, it sounds like you may be putting a bit too much pressure down on the knife, hope that helps!

I absolutely love your knife sharpening videos, either your fluking it or you’ve got a hidden talent, either way keep them coming

  • @brendanmulhall9095

Ugh, every time you take out the cinder block a part of my soul dies. Good video as always, keep on doing what you do.

These types of sharpeners usually do create a decently keen edge, but they remove a ton of material (those metal shavings) and they also create a ton of stress in the apex. The edge they create will usually go dull very fast and also be prone to chipping. The people that use these sharpeners usually don't have strops, which makes the knife go dull even faster since these "sharpeners" usually leave a nasty burr that folds over instantly.

I used to use the exposed ceramic ring on the bottom of my coffee mug. Works surprisingly well.

  • @jamesortiz5388

I'm amazed they let you have sharp objects.

  • @mahtomedi1997

I love watching Tyler just test products!!!!!!!!

  • @inibrius5380

Hey Tyler, you should really try the slicing edge sharpening system (with a bench grinder). Best sharpener I've ever used.

  • @bazilwreckerloughead

Any time Tyler has a knife, you just know there's going to be a 'water bottle test'!

  • @arlingtontrains7

He’s sooo satisfied, bless you sir!

  • @gamingwithpurg3anarchy157

Tyler.. I swear you get off on rubbing a brand new knife against a cinder blocks. And it brings tears to my eyes.

  • @BradyDuckhornYout

Knife videos are the best videos from Tyler tbh.

  • @JohnFleshman

I cant decide which sounds worse the cinder block or the first stage of the sharpening process.

  • @mockingdream02

Hey Tyler, think you could test the sharpness of shaving razors? Like Gillette Dollar Shave Club, the generic disposable razors etc. I'd like to see which ones the best for your buck and see if all the hype is worth it and which one is truly the best
