Do you guys like seeing these first impression videos? Let me know if there’s other content you’d be interested in seeing on this channel 🥰
I lived in Nicaragua for 8 years, SJDS is awesome! Check out the Corn Islands and Ometepe.
Glad you liked it! Definitely preferred Ometepe personally and will need to check out the Corn Islands at some point
My wife and I just came from San Juan: your descriptions are spot on 👍
Interesting! A lot of people really love San Juan which is fair but it’s definitely not for everyone
I don’t like many beaches/places but I don’t have the heart to comment negatively about a place. So many nice locals who work hard to survive and your video just gives a negative impression of their home. I was just there a few days ago and I have my own impressions of it and that is that I love places with less people/tourist because it’s more calmer and cleaner. My husband, on the other hand, he can’t stop talking about how he wants to enjoy more of San Juan del Sur.
Just providing my opinion about a place instead of saying I love every place I visit! I'm glad your husband loved it but there are definitely others who would appreciate hearing an honest review/opinion about a place before booking a trip :)
Yeah and I gave an honest opposite opinion too. I being from the country and anyone who does their research wouldn’t go for Easter time due to how chaotic it gets let’s start there. I guess people should watch multiple videos and make their own judgement of it.
@@glendamasis4525 That's completely fair! I definitely could have done more research and everyone should get advice from multiple sources to make a decision for themselves 👌🏼
finally, someone who gives an honest review of a destination. much appreciated. subscribed.
Thank you! Always going to keep it honest and real here because not every place will meet expectations
You definitely didn’t do your homework before going to SJDS. Everyone knows the beach in town is to watch the sunset and party at night, the bay is naturally beautiful but you don’t get in the water there and there are many options (cheap and not so cheap) to get you to the other bays in the area and back to town throughout the day. Lodging wise, you get what you pay for, I have stayed in many beautiful properties in and out of town. Food wise there is variety and price options for the size of the town. SJDS is a great place for unpretentious people who want to chill and go with the flow. Vibe-wise You def belong in TULUM or Miami but you better fork up the $$$$ or you’ll be hating those places too. JS!!!
You probably haven't seen any of my other content because I'm not interested in places like Tulum or Miami. Just explaining my thoughts on a place and personal experience 🤷🏻♀ Sure, I could have had a better experience but I didn't so it's not my top place to revisit! I also mentioned that while I didn't love it, other people might
Thanks for sharing.
No problem! Hope you found it helpful
San Juan del Sur, Beautiful place wonderful food !!! What do you expect if you are only paying $ 6.00 for a room ??
I had some good food there but definitely paid more than $6 for the room haha
there is a private tour that you pay and they take you around the volcanos and such and lets you go into the pool parties i guess some people just go there for the cheap alcohol and nice beaches, that vacation there 2 weeks for some feel like paradise and can cost you like 600$ meanwhile if you live in the USA like NY it will cost you thousands to go to miami for 2 weeks, there is atvs, horse riding on the beaches, surfing and spanish lessons all included in the tour not sure if it has changed or youd have to ask for it
Yeah I can see why people would visit! I definitely preferred Ometepe and other parts of Nicaragua in comparison but it's fun if you want a party town
Good content - thanks for the honest review - CZcams is too full of “it was sooo amazing “ videos
Thanks! I like to keep it real so I'll always share things I didn't love. Hope you stick around for future videos :)
So I just watched the video on this place another CZcamsr done this year and it's $3 to the beaches and $5 return and you're just throwing numbers near lock twenty dollars she actually showed a photo of the ticket that said $3 and $5
what Beach areas do you recommend?
I’m actually about to film a vid about Nicaragua in more detail but from what I heard from other people, Little Corn island would be the best bet!
I would ask someone who lives there. I’m from Nicaragua living in the US and my family was sharing so many beach towns to visit recently on my visit there. They said playa Gigante is nice, cleaner and with less tourists. San Juan del Sur is more of a party town however it does have some nice rental homes to stay in. Everything depends on your budget. I actually went to eat at Tuanis on the beach in San Juan del Sur and it was nice and modern.
Wow.. sounds like you just made some wrong decisions. San Juan del Sur as soooo much to do and great places to stay.
What is there to do? Genuinely don’t know how people spend more than 3 days there. Only beach days and watching sunsets from what I could tell
you should look up the Charming Nicaragua "9 days Private Tour" which is what most tourist usually do it is like 1200$ but worth it look up some video on it
thanks for the recommendation!
Ella no tiene ese dinero para gastar a lo mucho paga hostales de 15 dolares y es buena para criticar el
Pais
NICARAGUA IS A BEAUTIFUL LAND,WELCOME TO NICARAGUA LAND,IN THIS COUNTRl You can to have so much funny and entertainment thanks for visit our countri good luck.
I love nicaragua 🇳🇮
Which part was your fave? I'd like to go back and experience other spots
Very nice video.👍🏻 Greetings from Turkey. Claudia.
Thanks for the comment Claudia! I was in Turkey a few months ago actually. Where in Turkey are you from?
@@spellboundtravels Hello. I have been living in Alanya since mid-2022.
I retired 15 years ago. I lived in town for 10, and now am building at Playa Marsellas I like being out of town, but can take a kayak there in 20 min. Suits me.
I would not live in another Nica town.
Sounds like you found the perfect spot for what you need!
Next time, go to Miami Beach and stay there forever. Don't even think about going out of the US, again. Or maybe you can go somewhere in the mid-west, where there's nothing much; not even a single cup floating in the water of a stream.
I'm not from the US lol
Honestly it depends of your budget i can tell why you had a terrible experience there's a bunch of beautiful places around town where you can sleep like a king but of course that will be up to you and how much you wanna spend
Caesars are better than bloody marys. Poutine is great. Canadians are also awesome! 😁
Hahaha poutine is a classic!
I am in San Juan del Sur right now and i agree with the issues of the level of filth on the beach and in the water and the lack of shade. As a "beach town" I expect the beach to be enjoyable for some water activities, but stepping on garbage on the beach and in the water is disgusting.
There should definitely be some beach cleanups! Would make it a better experience for everyone
I was liking your video until you dissed Canadians. As a Canadian, our people are the most respectful and kind people you come across. Apologize and order some maple syrup, and all is forgiven.
I am Canadian too hahah. No hate towards Canadians at all, I love my fellow people. Just noticed everything was oddly tailored towards Canadians
I approve. Been there. Done this and that. And. Hmmm. Sd to aee how many videos are only BS. Anyway. They are tourists nd act like they know. Been there 3 years full. Didnt make any real friends except these 15 Nica who are real. Anyway. Dia Kachimbe!
3 pictures from same restaurant. But at least. Yeah. Go for that. Tabarnak de poutine hahahah. Tellement decu de tout les videos que je regarde …. Fawk
@@spellboundtravelstou serious? Did tou learn how to live there seriously ? Did you meet real nicaraguense. I have been Ffff. More than welcome. My bad i may sound negative. But. Been 5-6 channels i watch videos. And they all say bs. My opinion
This is BS! You get what you pay for. If you weren't looking for the cheapest hostels or airbnbs in town you would have had a much better experience. You're obviously a high maintenance person, so I suggest you spend more money next time for better accommodations.
Lol I can assure you that I’m not high maintenance whatsoever - just explaining my experience. If you love San Juan, that’s great but it wasn’t my fave place in Nicaragua 🤷🏻♀️
Been there. If you just want to get drunk, hangout & swim in polluted beaches, there are cheaper places in Mexico. "No one goes there anymore. Too many (drunk) people."
Yeah that’s kinda my thoughts exactly haha
good to see a realistic and honest opinion to see exactly how somewhere is
This review is waaayy off.. she clearly didn’t do enough research on where to eat, where to stay, what to do…
@@mariob9389 did plenty of research beforehand actually. The restaurants were nice but there simply isn’t much to do there
@@mariob9389I’ve been there too - defo agree with her view - way more of a party weekend than an actual nice place to see like ometepe.
@@sammatthewson799 I can give a long list of places to see and things to do that don’t involve partying. All I heard is complaints about the obvious.. like of course it’s hot and humid.. she was in Central America near the ocean 🤦♂️ tons of places to stay that are nice with a/c.. she just didn’t research enough.
@@spellboundtravelsDid you go to Hush Maderas, ziplining, horseback riding on the beach, boat cruise, fishing, hiking, street festivals, local baseball game, chocolate making, yoga retreats, restaurants run by locals, beach volleyball, the space hostal or Hola Ola hostel, watch turtles hatching on beach, playa hermosa, redonda beach, I could go on..
Honestly Nicaragua is a poor Country 🥲 Many people had left the country too. Less great restaurants and businesses 🤷🏻♀️
I found a few good restaurants and really enjoyed Ometepe but probably wouldn't go back to San Juan
WHAT!!!!....PURE HATERAID
What? Definitely not hatred, just providing my opinion on a place based on my experience haha
Over priced for sure.
Def agree with that!
