Adding that I used the Port Forward option on AX1800 wifi router to make this work, too (does not have Virtual Servers option). Thanks for this.

I have exact same router and don't mind the IP address updating every few days so don't require dynamic DNS. I just make a new connection. The problem I am having is my RDP sessions only work from a local network. If I'm on 4G or out somewhere it doesn't work. Perhaps my ISP is the issue?

How does this work? Doesn't CG NAT mess it up?

if u put the ddns name it will remote ur public ip which is the router ip...and it not route to the ip sett in the port foward...you needd to add the port number (ddns name :port number to access ~exp www.jhone.net:3777 ) then you will redirect the internal address that u want to call..it because u called the port n now the port foward will activate to find the ip you need..if not u ony remote the public ip of ur router.
in the video he in the same network so that he could call the ip without the port assign...when u on the public connection u need to define the port...early in the video he already mention "you need to know the port" coz uneed to call it through ur public(ddns)
