What a wonderful program 'A River Somewhere' was. I thoroughly enjoyed every show. Funny, scenic, and geographically interesting.
Great series. I have the DVD set and watch it now and again. Takes me back to when the world was a lot simpler.
I am deeply envious. You are very lucky to have scored one of the very few tourist visas available. Bhutan has been the country I have most wanted to visit but now my age and health will never permit it. Good on yer!
I know very little about fishing but âŠâŠ. pause for major claim, I caught several brown trout in 1995 in the tarns and lakes of Kashmir at an altitude of 8,000ft. An elderly Indian ghillie (fishing guide) told me that some mountainous rivers (and Himalayan kingdoms like Bhutan) were seeded with Scottish brown trout during the 1920s-30s. The reason was that the ViceRoy - the Governor General - (+ British army officers and other colonial gentry) enjoyed fishing during their time off while ârulingâ the country. Decades later the trout are still flourishing.
Himalayan Kingdoms like Bhutan and Nepal were never colonized my good sir, but yes they did enjoy fishing and so did (and still do) our monarchs!
Great and very clever show Utopia.
Hopefully all these great shows are still available on DVD?
They are available to stream as well, I have them on VHS, DVD, and iTunes . . love it.
I remember watching this episode as a kid.
A River Somewhere... the original & the best. Can I hear a harmonica? ......
Such a fantastic series.
what was once daggy is now cool đ
Well that was a total cockup in the end...
I've been looking for this ever since the full version got taken down from CZcams. Please please tell me where I can find the full version?
Ebay
If i ever gain a level of fame I'll be asking a TV station to pay me to go fishing.
Just one criticism.......where was the edited-in, mismatched, fake handshake with the locals!....
This is so sweet. Its always nice to know of Aussies visiting Bhutan.
