Nah!!!! Taeyang himself is a good person, nobody can talk bad about him he is a excellent singer, dancer, husband and father. if people talk bad is about people around him not himself at all. I'm not his fan but I had seeing a lot when he was more active and he is like you see in the video, a kind person.
OFC taeyang is from a group that has controversial members including him (maybe), but jimin back in the day, you can say 10-12 years ago, was a biggest fan of taeyang, he's Jimin's inspiration. Though the controversies surfaced in the later years, jimin and BTS still respects them as artists, bc one of those members was inspiration for Jungkook too, to become a singer.
I dont like that group myself though, but i respect the member's thoughts and decisions.

I don't know very much about Taeyang but I did learn a lot about Bigbang. There have been some majorly aweful scandeles in SK and The Burning Sun is a huge one. They didn't procesute all the people who were involved because there were too many and they focused on those they could definitely get convictions on.
There are exactly ZERO controversies surrounding Taeyang. A former member of his group is at the center of one of the biggest scandals in K-pop history. He's actually in jail. That event is EXTREMELY controversial, but I do not know enough about it to comment. He's no longer a member of the group, and that's that.
But Taeyang? He's literally a choir boy. A devoted husband married to his one and only girlfriend. An adoring father. Never goes out. Doesn't drink. Devoted to his faith. His only problem is a deadly allergy to shirts. And none of us are searching for a cure.
As for the other members, the "scandals" they have been mixed up in are mostly harmless - some pot smoking rumors, a few drunk Instagram ramblings, that's about it. Like most early generation K-pop groups (INCLUDING BTS) their stylists had to be educated about the difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. They wore a Native American headdress in a music video, and there have been some pretty embarrassing hair style choices over the years. But nothing recently. Other than the ex-member, the next biggest controversy was when GD posted a photo of himself covered in black paint. He had been painted red, white, black, and some other colors for a fashion event. He posted a photo, and was accused of being in blackface. He took it down, but not fast enough for some keyboard warriors. This is what most people refer to when they want to tear down BigBang.
The final non-scandal is actually a very tragic event. One of the members was involved in a multi-car car accident when he was a trainee. He had stopped in the road suddenly to avoid a downed motorcyclist. Another car hit his, and his car struck the man on the ground. The medical examiners determined that the man had already died from his fall, but rumors follow him to this day, almost 20 years later. Like Taeyang, he is a very religious person, and he already rarely went out. After that he became almost invisible outside of group activities. That's why when you see him his hair is always in his face. Even though he was cleared of any wrongdoing, he feels responsible.

I'm curious what controversial stuff you heard about Taeyang, because I didn't hear bad stuff at all. He seems like a lovely person, you can watch Suchwita, the episode where Suga had Taeyang as guest, I was plesantly impressed with him really. And he is a big star in S Korea, he was already famous when Jimin was really young, and because he is also a great dancer, he was Jimin's role model. It's nice he got to release a song with him, it's probably a similar feeling like JHope had when he made a song with J Cole.
