I'm Indian-american and honestly I somewhat agree with him regardless of his reason. I don't mind the accent but it is sometimes bad...I appreciate the concise language and more detailed vocabulary he uses even though I am aware just like me they speak a second language which is their native. I just overall appreciate the somewhat emotion conveyed with the review, MOST of the Indian reviews I see are very stale and portray little to no opinion of their own, which is why most often we come to reviews and videos. Again not mentioning all of Indian reviews, love my indian fam but these reviews are much better at times

The English language is already out. I am from Singapore and I set my iPhone language in Setting specifically to Singapore English(from UK English) and then paired it with my Mi Band 3, the English language firmware will be automatically downloaded to the Mi Band. No fuss..
Hi james, I have two questions I hope you can help me with, 1. what stats would disappear if I don't use GPS, maps and anything else? altitude also? speed? uphill? I am asking because GPS eats the phone battery. 2. Does it need internet to function while measuring a session of walking? Thanks

I just got one today it's amazing. When I received it from amazon the display would not turn on, then I was about to return it back then I charged it for about 2 hours and it turned on, it's really very accurate and awesome
You can use the mi bandage app to change the language.

I've been using this for a couple of months now and I'm amazed at how good it is. Paid $50 here in Australia and $5 for Mi Band Tools app.
I don't have sound. Bottom line - Can the 3 be used in the US in English? I bought the 2 a few weeks ago because the 3 useability here was still a big gamble or so it seemed.
I messaged Xiaomi about it and all they said was that it hasn't been released here yet. Not much of a reply for a company that wants to sell stuff, but that's how they left it.

Hello James. My Mi Band 3 stopped connecting so I tried to reset and reboot everything including unpairing the device from an iPhone 6. I did a hard reset on the Mi Band 3 and rebooted the phone. Now the message on the Mi Band 3 instructs to "Pair Device First". However I'm unable to pair as it does not show up on the bluetooth screen on the phone. What can you advise.? Should I let the battery die - will that do anything?
Sorry Steve, haven't experienced this. Have you tried another phone to see if the Bluetooth connection appears? Otherwise, yeh, try running down the battery then recharging, it should force a reboot of whatever software runs the device.

You have to open the app, then go into the band settings. Did you try that?

That's a good question, though I'm not sure why you'd do that. The electrical contacts are hidden when mounted in the band, but it's also a completely sealed device anyway, so my best guess would be yes, it's fine.

Great review, and I don't usually like them, since I search for the ones that are in Greek, but anyway, good work. I've been searching the past few days for a way to change the date format, instead of showing the month first and then the date but no luck with it. Maybe you have found how to do it if it's possible? xD
Hmm, I can't find a setting to change that, unfortunately. I haven't been too bothered by it though.

No, it records steps and activity all day. You'll need to open the app to sync the data into Apple Health / Google Fit though.

No, the screen doesn't respond to touch when wet.
You could turn it on before diving in. However no, the touch does not respond when wet

Alek Andonov I use sleep as android its really cool app and even if u don't decide to buy mi bad sleep as android has 2 additional ways of tracking ur sleep. (Sonar, and gyroscope)

You'll need to use the MiFit app. I wouldn't recommend random third party apps.

There wasn't even a setting to change for me, it just automatically updated to English with the firmware update. If you buy now, it will likley ship with English anyway!

Is it still waterproof without the band?
Yes. The band is just a silicone strap, it doesn't enclose the device completely, just attached it to your wrist.

If you don’t believe it’s amazing for 50 bucks, I suggest you spend a day with it. It isn’t as good as those 200 dollar fitness trackers, but it’s incredible. Fully water proof, 20 day battery life (unlike those trackers with 4-7 day battery life) and it really is gonna keep you nice and fit. There is a option in the Mi Fit app when it tells you to get up and walk or something. And, you can keep a step goal to complete each day, which atleast motivates me to have a nice jog or just run. Much better than a fitbit to be honest.
Fitbir charge 3 is way better than this but to be honest mi band 3 is amazing
It might have 20 day battery life, but that was with the most bare minimum usage with everything turned off. If you turn on HRM all the time, you'll be lucky to get at least half of it.
If we use continues heart rate monitor even without connecting to your phone...battery lasts only for 1 day....may be software issue of mi fit...but not sure....many others r experiencing this same issue....any suggestions ?
I have mine set to read every 10 minutes, getting at least two weeks battery. Doesn't sound right at all it would only last a day, defective unit?

Functionally, they're similar, but Xiaomi is a bigger company with wider support.

you'd need to bring it if you wanted GPS mapping, yes. If you don't care about the map, you can start the activity on your phone, run, then end the activity from the miband.

how accurate is the pedometer ?
Seemed to line up with other family members when we went for walks - maybe +/- 10%.
For me, the pedometer is total crap. Exaggerates the count by 100%, maybe even 200%.
