Thanks for the video I just purchased a Royal Star 1300 1996 32,000 miles from my mechanic picked it up for two grand!! The original owner took meticulous care of it and servicing really a beautiful bike now I got to get it registered can't wait to get out there
You’re doing a really nice job trying out motorbikes for us. Thanks a lot
This video made me buy a Royal Star and it has been the best purchase I ever made. Thank you.
Sold my Road King & purchased this bike 12 months ago. Love the metro bikes & very reliable
This vid was like riding with a friend. Nice job man!
Great video, thinking of buying one. I noticed it still has the gear whine from straight cut gears. Keep up the good work
I was used to shifting a Flh so I cut the shifter to toe shift only. Its a monoshock and I used 10/30 oil.Dead reliable, has Mark 1 V Max 4 engine.Excellent dual front disc.Back brakes wear out faster than front.Faster than my 103 Twin Cam.
thank you for your prompted response i will make sure of that. Thank you again. I am very excited. My father has no idea that I am even doing this.
We owned a 2008 Royal Star Tour Deluxe for 4 years. The only bike my wife and I really regret trading away. Some thoughts about the machine: The windshield is literally on or off in 2 seconds it is that easy, the height of the windshield was a problem where the top was right in the eye line, when I would hunch down a little and look thru it is was okay but sometimes I would take it early morning and the screen would mist up and it was hard to see, I would take the shield off for the entire summer and let the wind hit me and feel like you are on a bike, the hard bags are the nicest I ever owned - they did not have to be locked all the time, can ride with them locked or unlocked, some bikes the hard bags have to be locked all the time, I averaged 42 MPG for such a big bike and out on the highway I had the cruise set at 70 and I averaged 48 MPG (for an 800+ pound machine), the dash is the nicest I ever saw, kind of like the 50s cars, my wife was also very comfortable on the back seat, this bike was sold by Yamaha with a 5 year warranty, that is how highly Yamaha thought of this machine that they carried that long of a factory warranty, most bikes are a one year warranty and if they think it is great it will have a two year factory warranty. Hey Srk - pull that windshield off and go for a run. I would love to know your thoughts. Michael
I see what you mean about the fairing in the video. I had an ooollldd BMW r7 and I had the fairing cut down. Problem solved. Just a couple inches makes a big difference.
The windshield is fine for me on my 07. I'm 5'10 and height besides preference plays into that factor of course. I still have mine with 58k on it and I absolutely love the bike. I'm thinking of buying another bike, but this one is a keeper she won't get traded or sold. I'll just have two bikes. Every summer, I make at least two long-distance trips on it. Sean is wrong it is a great touring bike.
Sean, what a difference in your reviews between this old video and your 2019 videos. You have come a long way! Good to see it... You also dress for the slide now. Plus, you have your company's gloves on instead of this video with no gloves.... Back to the future video.
👍. I notice in the background this newer royal has the same transmission whine and howl as my 1984 venture royal. The “royal” in any of the Yamaha bikes is code name for the V4.
just found 1 of these with 2,000 miles on it - a 2006. great review - enjoy your videos brother
my god man every bike on craigslist i search for on youtube you have a video on do you own every bike ever made?
Guys use these to pull trailers,no problemo !Love the Staar.
I had a vfr 750. I'm telling you. Once you ride a V4.. it's like that SNL cowbell skit... I got a fevuh... And the only prescription is more V4.
I just got one last week a 2005 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I love it so much is so comfortable fast beautiful when I remove the windshield and passenger seat but is so freakin heavy I’m 5”4 almost 5”5 I have to ride it without seat to feel more confident to ride it without dropping the bike. I going to sell it sadly I guess to stress in slow speed
I'm pretty much sold on this model, ticks all my boxes one question .. With full touring/camping gear and a woman on the back ..does it still pull well ?
+kernowrock555 oh yeah it would pull just fine
This motor has lots of power I have a Venture and loaded up she goes just fine , no worries about the power . There is a jet kit you can get called Ivan's jet kit a few of my friends have installed them and they keep telling me to do it , good luck on your purchase if you haven't bought one yet , I just noticed you posted 6 months ago lol
Had this same bike with a trailer plus gear and pulled it from coast to coast
My Royal Star has 56000 miles i love it i am right outside the reading PA Area where is your shop located? Thanks 2 Corinthians 9:15 🙏
Only a 1300 ? I remember when a 650 was considered a big bike.
I have the exact same bike
At 14K the stator and rectifier went out.
i really want one of these bikes.....but i have heard that they have frequent clutch problems ....is this true
Change out to Barnett and all is well.
Mine has 17k on it and no issues
At 5:45 you totally cut that dude off haha
How does this bike handle at parking lot speeds?
She’s pretty too heavy. Counter lean and all good
No gloves? Jeez...
Isn't that lawnmower toy just gorgeous!? :)
Aleksandar Stepanovic went to your channel....nothing going on there at all....your opinion is nil.
If the lawnmower doesn't come with it, I'm not interested. Dealbreaker.
A widow here has a 2009 Royal star Venture with 29k garage kept for 4k. I have only had Harley Davidson motorcycles and real Indian Chiefs. I want to do a big road trip and my two old Harleys do fit the bill. If I bought it my buddies would give me grief. Japanese motorcycles are like fat girls they're fun to ride but you don't want your friends to see you on one.
That smacking tounge click, ruines the video.so tah...where gonna tah
