WAIT FOR THE CREAM.,........
Attend pour le crème!
@President Donald J Trump LOL someone gets your Tarantino joke
I don't think there is a better combination, apples and cinnamon mixed together is magic
Adding dark chocolate, a tad bit of sea salt and some cranberries would make it better.
Yes God ;;_;; GLORIOUS
With a touch of cloves! Cinnamon and cloves is a match made in heaven...
AND CREAM
This looks so incredibly good and so simple to make! Love the idea of this as an alternative to an apple pie!
my mom always uses roasted breadcrumbs under the apples, they soak up the juices and prevent the strudel from getting soggy
Obrigado :) Vou fazer assim, beijao.
Pavlína Čermáková what a great idea 👍
it looks beautiful and the aroma must have filled your home with JOY AND LOVE.great tips and thanks for sharing.
In Germany we serve Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce :)!!!!
Mmmm...recipe for vanilla sauce, please?
1 1/2 cups milk
5 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp corn starch
1 vanilla bean (the pulp) or 1 tsp vanilla extract
3 egg yolks
1. Put the vanilla pulp (or vanilla extract) into a small sauce pan along with all the other ingredients.
2. Slowly heat the mixture over medium high while constantly stirring until it coats the back of a spoon. (It should be slightly runny). At this point I like to strain the mixture through a sieve just to make sure that there aren't any lumps in the final product.
3. Cover with plastic wrap so that no skin forms and put the sauce into the fridge to cool down.
Serve and enjoy :)!!!!
+Merlin Smith wow! thanks for the recipe! im making this strudel tomorrow and I am going to use the vanilla sauce instead of ice cream.
We made this for Thanksgiving. It was easy and delicious. We love Sarah's wonderful recipes.
In North of Italy we eat it with apple and pine nuts. Put some crushed amaretto biscuits under the apples to soak the apples juice
the dough soaks up the apple juices id much prefer it that way
Yes, crushed biscuits are magic in this :)
One of my favorite recipes! Thank you
Thanks Sarah!! Just watching you brings joy to my face. :) Your passion for cooking ignites a fire in my heart for all things in this world. No matter what is going on in my life, your recipes are a delight! Thank you, ~~~De.

YUMMY!! I will be making this!!! Looks sooo easy!! Thanks for sharing Sarah!!! :)
I so look forward to your recipes, you never disappoint. Your wife and kids are so lucky to have such a great cook at home. Love from NC!! :-)
I love this recipe!
I prefer to make my strudel with phyllo pastry, much lighter and crisp. (5 sheets) I use a variety of apples for texture and flavour, and sultanas. I add pecan bits but mostly I make pear and cranberry strudels.
Scottie McFrugal sounds awesome I will definitely give it a try thank you for these great tips
This is great! Thank you!!!
Just added this to this year's thanksgiving menu, even though it's only July! Looks delicious!
Awesome Sarah! Simple and delicious...
Ohhhh!! Yum!! It looks so delicious😁❤️
yummy!! I really like that taste
It is amazing mam.I will, rather I must try it this evening.
Thanx a lot
Making this!! So easy. Or it seems easy
Craving for this one.
Very good thank you
Thank you!!
Total yum❤️
Fun fact: Puff pastry, at least the commercial stuff you usually find in the frozen food section (Pepperidge Farms brand), doesn't actually contain butter. It uses a variety of vegetable shortenings and oils instead. I know, because I'm allergic to milk protein and can't eat dairy, but I can eat puff pastry.
I know....for most of us thats sad, good for you though! I like to buy butter puff when i can, but usually call for the standard that most people can buy!
Sarah Carey
I'm looking forward to trying this recipe! I love apple pie and puff pastry -- I think this will be a great apple pie alternative for Thanksgiving this year, since I'm already doing a couple of different kinds of pies for our holiday gathering!
Divine!
@margaret winshell you are right, in the uk, we would call that an Apple turn over.
A strudel has sultanas, and i believe the roll is different too.
Delicious!
Thank you for uploading an apple strudel recipe without raisins or sultanas because I'm intolerant to dried fruit.
Excellent
nice looks delish Sara.
YES at that big bite at the end!
Wait for the cream!
This was lovely to watch and follow, and changing to vegan margarine it went vegan very easily. Thanks for the video and all the best! :)
Another win 👍
Who else is here after watching Inglorious Basterds
Hahahahah I just watched the movie and came here
I am in England and make my strudels with our lovely tart English Bramley apples. I use much less sugar than Sarah because I love the tartness. No sugar on top either - except for a light dusting of powdered sugar. Healthier and fewer calories too!
YASSS!
Quick question:
Do you suggest letting the sautéed apples cool even when you're making apple pie?
This looks amazing! Thanks! And your vibrant red hair suits you so well - beautiful.
Oh, we're so havin' that!
She is so pretty! I love her videos :)
awesome!
thanks good looking
I'd imagine the technique of cooking the apples first might work well if using as a filling for a galette of some sort. I'd imagine this would be supremely delicious if made using a pate brisee.
I would serve de strudel with a nice runny vanilla pod flavoured custard ... like the traditionnal way ^^
I tried this recipe with my friends at university and it was soo delicious and simple to make! Thanks for the video and recipe! :)
We guild the Lilly yet again !!!
Dude. I am doing this tonight but with strawberries.
oooooooooh such a good idea
with cream-cheese on top oooh
Wow good idea
Yes, it can be made with any fruit- peaches , berries, pumpkin even ets.
hu love apple strudel
Apple 🍎 😋
This recipe is absolutely foolproof and so easy to impress ☺️ although I prefer to scale back a little on the sugar. I've experimented and I feel that the best apples to use would be jazz apples. Fuji is a little bit too starchy for my liking, Royal gala is a good second, but trust me on using jazz 😉
Another note, I do not recommend sprinkling sugar before you put it in the oven. My sugar burnt really badly. I usually save a little apple sauce from the cooking, glaze it while it has cooled down from the oven and sprinkle on some sugar
Do u have to cook the apples?
Sarah, I accidentally made too much apple filling and now I don't have anymore puff pastry with me. Can I keep them in the fridge or freeze them? If yes, how long is the lifespan?
Can I dice the apples instead of slicing them? :)
Good morning Sarah... Thank you for showing me something different and yummy..
Hi Sarah!I lov Apple strudel, but i never made it.That's time to make one.
Oh MAN I love apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, butter and flour in all its forms! YUM!
OK I make quite a few of these types of recipes this time of year too. And as luck would have it picked up some puffed pastry yesterday so yeah!
My question is about the browning (discolouring) of the apples once sliced and left out....who cares?? Does it change the flavour of that apple when it browns? 'cause all these types of recipes end up adding brown sugar and cinnamon that coats and makes the apples brown anyway. Just something that I wonder about, seems I always hear these warnings regarding the apples changing colour.
Doesn't so much change the flavor, but they can get a little slimy too....
Attendez la crème..
Traditionally you also put raisins in it :P
what about green apples .
Да
What should be the thickness of the puff pastry after I roll it out?
When I made it....I did it like a translucent sheet... 😊
You dont have to cook the apples for strudel. They will bake nicely in oven even if you add them fresh.
Didn't Thomas say that Fuji and Gala are tender and sweet apples?
Do yourself a huge favor, and roll this out on floured parchment paper. It WILL stick to your counter, no matter how much flour you use. It is not as easy as it looks in this video
check out famousspecialties for the best hand stretched strudel dough
This apple strudel uses no raisins or sultanas, which is good thanks for uploading this recipe.
Mine got real dark in like 15 mins!?
its a shame that you didnt make your own puff pastry
Hans Landa brings me here
Mix the cinnamon into the sugar, beforehand.
The wrong recipe, m missing more ingredients, for example, like risen and walnuts.
This isnt from scratch if you buy the dough pre-made.
No need for sugar . B
thats not how you make strudel, you need to roll the dough out and then roll everything in.
IT LOOKS DRY AF!!
You forgot the cream
Nice. But - easier than apple pie? Not really.
Diane Davidson Agreed, Apple pie is far and away the easiest fruit pie to make.
adopT me. pls
NOT APPLESTRUDEL, THIS IS A BIG APPLETURNOVER!
This was filmed in an Iraqi military base.
You need brown sugar!!
Very p
i is so hongri T-T
Bruh this isn't how I make strudels
