Part of your issue with the "Notch" while passing center, is due to you going from a profile with 900° in Alpha Manager, to one with 1080° without re-calibrating the wheel in game. This will cause Linearity issues and can create a "Notch". This notchy feeling you experienced is only present in iRacing, no other game has this. This is due to the inferior 60hz signal coming from the game which needs a lot of Interpolation/Smoothing. This is also why this issue isn't present when using iRFFB.
Every other game is smooth as silk, the hardware has no notches whatsoever. This is an iRacing issue in itself, which is why users tend to use iRFFB to clean things up and fill in the missing gaps.
Anyway, Thanks for the Review, your Hardware section is great as always.

It's nice to see DD wheels are coming down in price and advancing simracing technology. Even though I think belt driven wheelbases still have their place, but they need to be priced lower (~200-350 EUR). Low entry DD wheels 500-700 - which is already happening. And then the sky is the limit.
I have my personal grievances with Fanatec (the firm) and their DD, I think 0.5DD is their way to get you hooked into their ecosystem. But anyhow, it's a good entry wheel for those who have tried simracing with lower tier wheel and fell in love with the hobby. SiMagic when it first came on my radar, I was excited to see more competition in DD space. And they continue to deliver.
I love this channel. Smooth voice of Barry is almost ASMR brain therapy.

I actually like the switch on the cord as my Fanatec DD1 switch doesn't turn my wheel off anymore and now I need to send the whole wheel base to Fanatec for repair, whereas if it was built into the cable, maybe there's a chance that the cable would just need to be swapped out. Great review (as always!).
@1:28:16: At $500 this is a great deal. Although Barry mentions the promo runs until end of August, the price now already shows $799.00 on August 15, which isn't that much of a good deal anymore, especially with the Fanatec CSL DD just around the corner.

      2) At the ALPHA page (not Mini) the description clearly states: "SIMAGIC ALPHA + GT1-R STEERING WHEEL" and the SKU reads: "SIMAGIC_ALPHA_GT1SR". With the Alpha Mini it only states: "SIMAGIC ALPHA MINI - 1 Yr Warranty" and the SKU reads: "ALPHA_MINI".
