17:58 is a swipe animation which came from a Family Channel (Freeform) airing alongside with the “Interactive Play Break” segments with Wink Martindale, and another problem, the video is unstabled. I hope Tubi would like to see the full episode uncut with the prize package plugs soon.
The other semifinal episode included Stan Mysliwiec (finalist), Ray De La Paz (who made it through first round but lost to Stan), and Candie Montgomery and Michael Blanc (both eliminated in first round). Ray must have been the entire series' best Bid-A-Note contestant. He scored three one-noters in this episode and his first time on, too. Only two other contestants did this on the entire series.
Les was a jackbag and clearly shouldn't have won -- note that he never actually says "Every Breath You Take", yet they gave him credit. And his whole behavior after winning...geez.
You can see the transition NTT went through in this episode between the four winners. Les' Golden Medley podium was still using one from Tune Topics with the original buzzer sound effect. The other three had the brass and blue striped one with the more common sound effect.
After the Super Champs Tournament the first two weeks, there were six more Tournaments of Champions. They were won, in order, by Michael Lagmay, Pat Chialtas, Kirk Moore, Carol Klein, Tommy Simmons, and Les Gould.
CBN didn't edit out the prize plugs either, but when it became The Family Channel and returned to that network in 1993, then THAT's when they edit out the plugs
Actually, this first Semifinals episode of _The New $100,000 Name That Tune 🎵,_ which originally aired in nightly syndication on May 28, 1985, was first seen on the Family 👪 Channel January 11, 1994, at 1 pm Eastern, so I suggest you fix 🔧 this error ⚠️ as soon as possible.
FAM had to edit out the prize plugs and parting gift plugs to have room for the Trivial Pursuit and other interactive game playbreaks. Of course, they continued to edit them out after FAM ditched the interactive games in late 1994. They also edited out parts of deals on LMAD reruns, most notably during pricing deals. They edited out fee plugs from Face the Music and Crosswits 1986, but didn't edit out the questions coming out of commercial breaks on Split Second(MOnty version)
@daniel anderson I hope Tubi would like to see this episode streaming with the prize plugs retained and the picture and sound quality will be sharp and clearer. So don’t worry folks. Tubi will add more episodes of “Name That Tune” later this year.
This was the last aired tournament when I saw this show on KYW Philly in first run. I'm pretty sure the show was cancelled by then. This show's ratings were around a 4.8 when cancelled I understand(which places it nearly two ratings points higher than syndie Millionaire of Feud gets these days)
I hate how he won too...he blew the first three games, but won the Medley Showdown, then the tiebreaker. If this was the last tournament, no wonder they saved it for last...they wanted to bury Les's obnoxious ass.
17:32, I have the same reaction when I win at board games
This is a hilarious Golden Medley round!
I'm sure I saw this as an original broadcast but when I saw this on USA I never felt worse for another contestant in my life.
Brian Schwartz So did I.

both were very good!
This is for you Ray Parker Jr. and Walk The Moon during Halloweentime @ 13:51!
Tammy was a great player she must have had one of the fastest Golden Medleys ever
My Name That Tune stations were WNEV Boston and WJAR in Providence.
I also was in the Providence area.
Do you remember if this show was on in the early evening? I keep thinking it was on somewhere between 6-7pm.
Les was a jackbag and clearly shouldn't have won -- note that he never actually says "Every Breath You Take", yet they gave him credit. And his whole behavior after winning...geez.
I agree. It didn't do the show's image one solitary bit of good.
Agreed he was a dick the way he brushed her hand off.. and they let him sing the whole friggin police song
@nemesisgenius he didn't like that she touched him in that tense moment
I agree!!!!!
What's the other semifinal episode?
mbk1997 do u have any name that tune tournament episodes
i have a couple more eps with the Contestant tryouts (Address and phone number from NTT)
Once again, the volume totally sucks!

I think it is more like over-confident. However, his style helped him in the end.
there's got to be more tournament champion episodes of "name that tune" with Jim Lange.
After the Super Champs Tournament the first two weeks, there were six more Tournaments of Champions. They were won, in order, by Michael Lagmay, Pat Chialtas, Kirk Moore, Carol Klein, Tommy Simmons, and Les Gould.
I saw this ep. On the FAM rerun, and that last second on the clock scene was heart pounding.
This is the ONLY episode with Les Gould I have in my collection. Sorry for the inconvience.
No, he was just wacky not obnoxious like Alfred.
Tammy's Dotty Dog was from The Get-Along Gang, a cartoon on CBS around 1984.

NOT YET!!!!!!! 17:00
The opening game and clip montage took up so much time, there was no room for all 3 games, but they could've just skipped Tune Topics.
ur kidding, that is kinda weird that it would be cancelled with a rating like that, (that certainly isn't that bad.)
CBN didn't edit out the prize plugs either, but when it became The Family Channel and returned to that network in 1993, then THAT's when they edit out the plugs
Where one with pat and art
On CZcams! The finals one!
I think Led went on to win the 100,000
You're right, he was the $100,000 winner of the last month of the show.
Darren Doyle You mean 😏 _New $100,000 Name That Tune 🎵_ contestant Les Gould, right 👉🏻? Not Led, just Les.
JIMOTOOLE1949 May 30, 1985, to be precise.
@@jamesmcclelland1414 yes my damn spell check lol
@@darrendoyle568 Thanks, Darren, thanks a lot!

"Oh, I'm SHAKING!"
I hope those kinds of players were the exception rather than the rule on this version.
Actually, this isn't from a USA airing. This is from a Family Channel airing. "Big Brother Jake" was on Family Channel.

daniel anderson Yes, Daniel, the CBN Cable Network left 👈 in those plugs.

USA did a much better job at treating the show (Reason being: They didn't edit out the prize plugs).
He seems to be the equivalent of Alfred from one of the aired pilots, remember Alfred?
I hate Les Gould.
I'll admit I wasn't fond of him either, and I would have much rather seen Stan win the $100,000.
I hate how he won too...he blew the first three games, but won the Medley Showdown, then the tiebreaker.

Obnoxious is right.
Tammy was kinda cocky as well I’m sure she thought she had it won when she went up 6-5 with 3 seconds left
@nemesisgenius And Very Horny too !! 😅
