    its all about doing it right with this machine... i have had one for 15 years and train with it every third day and has been great for me.

    This is a nice piece of equipment. I just bought one and I love the way it makes my abs work without the neck strain.

      @@kyracoach: That was a good while ago. But, I believe I purchased mine from a place called York Barbell Equipment.
      They're no longer in business *

    i've got a dodgy back so i have to watch what i'm doing sit up wise. this simple tool really does help. and you can pick them up for just a few quid.

    i dug out my parents one and it doesnt have any arm rests or the stand at the bottom..is it even usable?

    Can i ask? I am incredibly unfit im not sure where to start. Is this for beginners. Like 250 pound sedentary beginners? I really am ready to chang and put in the work. But there are some things were i just haven't strengthened my muscle enough to do.

    Just bought an AB Roller. What actually pulls the body up? Do I pull up with my core/abs and leave my arms loose? The arms do NOT play a role? Do I do the same for obliques? Thanks I appreciate your input. Gerry.

      Push forward with your arms. They play pivotal role, without using your arms you ain’t gonna be moving much. The pressure it’s puts on your abs alone, you will feel your stomach muscles getting a good workout. Great for people who struggle to do regular sit ups.

    This doesn't look very safe to me. The machine is just pushing the head forward, placing strain on the neck. I bet it causes a lot of injuries. I'd rather use a captains chair or an ab board.

      steroids ? totally irrelevant ... he did not even mention steroids, and you make no sense ... roller machine ? it's called crunch and they work the upper abdomen muscles ...it does not warm anything ...sit ups are harder because they use multiple muscles than crunches, thats all .. I don't think you know a dam thing ..you are using your mouth more than your muscles .

    You don't have any idea buddy about training , and it's called a ab rolling machine it's also designed to warm up your abs and release the tention from your back , and so that you can prepare yourself for inclin situps.

    I was given this exact same machine and now I know how it's supposed to actually look... mine looks like my old bike after Mum reversed the car over it. Also, should I look like this guy or a fat, sweaty old slob?. Finally, the farting; should I let off on the up-swing or the down?. Are ruptures inevitable and should I just take this space-gobbling bit o' pipe to the dump like the exercycle and all the other toot I've used to keep dust off the floor?.

    You were probably doing normal crunches with bad form from the beginning causing your neck to be messed up. You could have saved yourself the money and do crunches with good form then waste your money on garbage like this. Fact is, most people get injured due to bad form.

    This is a bunch of BS.You're much better off doing crunches. These people only want your money. Why spend money on this when you can get ABS for FREE? My advice, don't buy, stop being lazy, have a good diet to have your abs.

    The "Machine is helping me" is what he says, the machine is also forcing your body into an unnatural position. As a gymnast I have great ab's and would never recommend this machine.
