The whole Worlds Apart album had no fillers. Everything was brilliant.
These guys should have been huge in America.
Being a canadian in the 80's
this was my pink floyd
These guys are Monsters in the Germanic Europe, off the charts levels rivaling anything out of England 🏴
I feel like Michael and Neil Peart would be very good friends.
Brilliant Incredible singer a member of a Brilliant Incredible band (SAGA)

This song came in 1982 when I was 12 yo. Great year - so many timeless hits appear on radio every week!
SAGA! ... INIMITABLE! ... UNIQUE! ... SOUND & STYLE, the most ELEGANT Rock Band ever!
Great story, great artists. Gonna miss these guys.
Saga's retired :(
@@tambourini I just saw their last show a few weeks ago - tinyurl.com/SagaFinalShow
@@RakkmUp I'm thrilled that the band is still performing, even if Jim C has made an understandable decision to retire. The show two weeks ago was stellar.
This song was always brilliant and I loved the longer version. That unique guitar sound representing the ball stopping on a roulette wheel is just epic.
What a song!
Oh wow what a great story …love Saga!❤
One of the best albums ever. Love hearing these stories about it.
Top 5 album for me, all time.
Saw Saga perform live at Lulu's Roadhouse in Kitchener-Waterloo twice in the mid-90's. First performance there Mr. Sadler was suffering from laryngitis and could only hum with the band playing "Wind Him Up". The second time I saw Saga there another year Mr. Sadler sang "Wind Him Up" perfectly and let me tell you to hear him live with his voice is outstanding!!! The band is now in a well deserved retirement.
I weep as I watch this, imagining the future of music.... the (d)evolution of music making..... the voodoo behind it, the magic, the humanity, the analog... it's gone.
I remember hearing the "mic in the face" as he was just waking up story in a different video several years back. Michael is an outstanding vocalist. Most definitely one of my favorites.
Amazing story about the middle of the song vocals. lol Awesome
The "Behind the Vinyl" series is fantastic! Love every one of them! Saga was a great band, they amazed me with how tight they were.
That's a crazy story, very cool. Love this album.
I'm amazed Sadler's recount of the low key chorus to 'Wind Him Up'... Heard that magic moment at 1:58... 🥰
Saga opened for rush years ago. What a great bill. Saga got like 4 encores
That is actually a great story. I love that part of the song and always thought it was one of the most emotional things I've heard on record back then. That's great. Really cool.
Fabulous segment. One of my all time favorites.
Awesome!!
Frickin' brilliant!
This has always been my favorite song from the album. I was 11 or 12 when it first hit the radio and I bought the cassette soon after that. Every song on the album is great.
Great story 😺
One of my favorite albums of all time. I saw Michael at Progstock and his show was amazing! Such a pro and a genuinely nice guy. Chatted with him and his son who had performed a duo during his set which was a highlight because, as a family man myself, it was awesome that he loves his kid enough to not just drag him around on the road, but include him in the show! His son was beaming with excitement after being on stage. Cool dad!
I've listened to dozens of these behind the vinyl. This is by far the most interesting.
What a great band.
Awesome story
31 albums since 1978, packed shows globally for decades, and a huge loyal following. His voice is still amazing. They belong in the RR Hall of Fame. But not holding my breath.
Awesone theme, the best from Saga, my Band for all times. Really Rock for the ages, blessings from Puerto Rico. All are The Perfectionists.
I always new the Germanic Europeans love affair with Saga (Netherlands included) but I recently found out that Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 has had a fascination and love affair with Saga. That really came out of left field for me because I never heard of it before.
Songs meiner Jugend......Musik bei der die Zeit stillsteht ....einfach geil!
My absolute favorite song by SAGA. An unforgettable gem from the early days of MTV when we couldn’t wait to get in front of a television set to experience music genres that we may have never been introduced to. I have their Worlds Apart album on my phone and it will always be there. Here’s to the good old days. 😎🙏🏾✌🏾
Bloody brilliant song. Still can't get enough of this song.
thanks for this. great to hear the behind the scenes for a great band, great music. Canada rules!
That's a great story and what an articulate nice man! I thought Michael would be a really cool guy, but nothing prepared me for this amazing story! The thing with Saga is that they are the most underrated band, but a lot of that came I'm pretty sure the entrapment they felt in the Canadian Music Industry- an industry that ate up its artists and spat them out. Canadian bands have always been underrated and underappreciated, but Saga went to England and Europe and found their rainbow's end there. It's a shame how the music industry was to these bands, but it's not just bands like Saga in Canada it's poor promotion, lack of marketing skills, and a whole bunch of things go into that mix. It can really have a devastating effect on an artist. Think about Saga they should be even more popular than Genesis! Just think about the weight of that statement I just made.
Absolutely agree.

Great band .saw them in florida they opened up for billy Squire and blew the headliner away.
I just saw Saga in St. Charles, IL two weeks ago. Magnificent performance, straight through. I wish I'd gotten to see Jim Crichton play with them, but Michael, Ian, and Jim Gilmour have a couple of great players with them to carry the torch.
Amazing band and this guy in my opinion is the American version of Midge Ure in the vocal department. Love everything about this group!
I LOVE this group!
Every song on Worlds Apart is great. :)
Great song and band .great voice so powerful .thank you for the great music
So many people think that Saga has one album. They just "wound up" a 40 year career!
I saw them opening up for Chilliwack in Moncton, New Brunswick when Chilliwack's California Girl was a current hit on the radio. I was standing among the crowd on the floor. Saga were booed and things were thrown at them (pop cans, chip bags, etc). I had nothing to do with the booing or throwing. They left the stage early and Bill Henderson came out and told the crowd how he didn't like what the crowd did and that they won't be going on stage earlier than they were suppose to and everyone will have to wait. When Chilliwack did play, even with people yelling to hear California Girl, they did not play the song at all and it was the hit at the time
That was very good of Bill to stick up for them like that. I’ve noticed at times my countrymen have behaved atrociously towards certain acts like the way they treat Justin Timberlake when he travelled to Toronto to participate in the SARS benefit. I didn’t know about Moncton at all but it’s pretty petty picayune behaviour.
This is the craziest quarter note tempo maintained by the keyboard, base and guitar. It’s exhausting to listen to.
Yeah they're all truly incredible. They leave me breathless with many of their songs, particularly from the 1st and 3rd albums
One of the first songs I ever listened to on the "matrix" setting on my boom box. It completely blew me away. Still does to this day.
Encore meilleur sur "In Transit", l'album de la decouverte de Saga pour pas mal de jeunes en France. Merci à Lamy Vincent et L'Echo des Bananes.
Very interesting❤
Michael has a nice voice, and is highly articulate. Good looking guy in the early 80s w a mullet.
He speaks very much like Neal Peart; or vice versa. Uncanny.
I saw Michael once during a SAGA concert he was singing a song I can't remember which, he stepped down the stage onto the public and kissed a very hot screaming girl and went back to the stage. It was the first time ever I've been that close to a super star. That girl was my then girlfriend.😁
How old were u?
@@alexmustata4089 Old enough to have a girlfriend...and a cold beer in my hand I was kinda drunk I remember.😂
I was at the 1982 Concert here in San Juan, and he did the same thing. Incredible, most criminally underrated band in the planet. Those first four Saga albums were amazing...
Imagine a 9to5 like this?
'NOT TODAY"..Ahhhn SAGA
The more I hear about Saga's producers, the more I think the band should have sued them for unprofessional conduct.
First it was the story from On the Loose, then sending in a boom mike guy into your room while you were asleep. Someone clearly needed a lesson on the concept of boundaries.
Oh, never liked that psassage of the song, always been like 'oh, did he forget how to sing or what?!'. And yer, now it's explained.
