    Hello!
    I'd like to warn - don't use fast charger with this one! NCR18650GA used in 200wh should be charged at about 1/3 of its capacity (1475mA per cell by datasheed), which means 3 hours is the fastest you can afford! You charge with more than 200W, it's more than 1C - no high capacity battery can eat this current without significant fade in cycle life! Others batteries are about the same, often 0.5C is maximum allowed charge rate.
    As a general rule - never use charger that can charge the battery faster than 2 hours, more time = more cycle life. Charging longer than 4-5hours doesn't help with cycle life though.
    Also - thank you for your videos! They help A LOT, with your help I've chosen my first EU and commute using it since.

      All right! I've found which battery is in 130wh version. It's sony VTC4. It's actually high discharge battery - standard charge current (at which cycle life is declared) is 1C. So you can use 130W charger with this one safely. Still not 250W one you used in the video.

      Thanks for watching, the Sony VTC4 can accept up to 6.5amp continuous charge current, so 4amp is within this range, it was all good. Charged fine. It was only on this anyhow to complete the review video for final ride out. Kind of pointless having a fast charger for the 130....only take 1.5hrs to charge on the 1.75amp charger anyhow!

    As always, Great reviews! Love Mike's dangling show lace inches from the wheel when he was cruising the hall.
    It's great you do the honest assessment of these units. There is so much hype usually and you never know until you get something what it can and mostly can not do.
    Your review convinced me to get a Mini Pro last year, which I would have tried to get from SpeedyFeet if I didn't need the UL approval thing to run it here in the US. Haven't tried a wheel yet. I use the mini on a farm to get around and pull carts. All off road and usually loaded. Very capable.
    Also you Nissan Leaf channel convinced me to get a Leaf as well. Had that a year no through a Vermont winter. It's great in real snow and the cold is a challenge but not impossible. 65 mile round trip commute each day.
    Keep up the great work!

    When you're unsure where's front of wheel and where's back, look at the tyre - the protector most often has direction of rotation.

    日本でも、“立ち乗り電動一輪車”=“Electric-Uni-Cycle”が違法かどうかの議論が行われています。

      Yes, a bit of a grey area it seems. I see no reason to ban them however. They might be slightly more dangerous than a bicycle but nowhere near as deadly as say a powerful motorbike. The onus should be on the person using the device to keep ones self and others safe. If they are made illegal at some point it would be due to more traditional, reserved judge, which would be a great shame for the world moving forward! I believe that in the near future these unicycles will become widespread. I managed to balance mine on a busy London street with one hand holding a coffee and another a phone (no, I won't be doing this often). Also Usain Bolt apparently has a higher average sprinting speed than what I consider to be a safe riding speed on my unicycle (23km/h). The top speed of my unicycle is 30km/h.

    Charging a 130wh batterie with a 4Amp Charger? Very optimistic....even the standard Charger with 2Amp is nearly to high for a 16S1P pack of that range....just a hint....

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety

      In this pack is Sony VTC4 so a continuous charge of up to 6.5amps is permissible.
      Side note - charge was just to get the review done, but also to show the scale of this tiny wheel. (It charged just fine).
      Thanks for watching!

      Speedy Feet UK the announced charge rate is 4 Amp for vtc4....vtc5 is 4Amp...vtc5a is 6amp...Max! .....one website is stating max 6,5amp for vtc4, which is unfortunately totally wrong :-)... all over 1C , here 2,1 Amp is reducing batterielife enormous. better to stay on 0,5C...here 1,05Amp.
      No problem to go from 5-15Amp on a 6-8 paralell packs, like in your ,top, fast charge video, but here a bit slowgoing should be adviced! Keep Going unicycling :-) Best chanel for reviewing EUC's! wish the best for your 1000mile tour :-)

    Do you get any grievance from the police at all for selling these? I got stopped a couple of times in London by security and maybe the police... They asked if I knew that they were illegal and had asked me to get off and walk. Also one said later that if they don't see me then they don't really care... This highly depends on the police person - some do, others don't! It's a shame that we have this law...

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety +3

      Andrei Petunin to my knowledge they are not illegal. Segways are, maybe they are confused. Single wheel, electric unicycle has footplates and not pedals, so is not covered under any law. This doesn't mean it's legal nor illegal - it would take a court case. Never had any issues in 3 years and 1000's of miles. I ride courteously if anyone around, as long as you ride sensibly there is no reason to stop you.

    • @AndreiPetunin
      @AndreiPetunin Před 7 lety +1

      Wow, I'm glad I asked you! Segways have footplates as well though, don't they.. Now I shall ride more confidently in front of police and will argue my case. There is no reason to fear electric unicycles. I feel shy riding in front of police because of that incident. Police officers are here to enforce law and order and not to harass and intimidate us (and generally they are very nice).

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  Před 7 lety +1

      Andrei Petunin I wouldn't recommend arguing, you can make life easier to walk if they ask, but if they try and take it off you then of course you can argue it, but can't see it coming to that!

    • @AndreiPetunin
      @AndreiPetunin Před 7 lety +1

      "The police can seize a vehicle if they think it’s being used in a way that causes alarm, harassment or distress (eg careless or inconsiderate driving)." I see. So they would have to seize it and take me to court if they see me causing alarm, harassment or distress. They could try and say that riding on the roads of London causes alarm or distress... That, however, would be a far stretch of the truth as everyone I have met so far thought that it was cool and no one complained (nor looked distresses, not even annoyed) in any shape or form... So I conclude that they're ok to ride in an orderly manner! Brilliant news! Yes, I'll just walk if they ask, thanks! I won't avoid them anymore though like I started doing!!

    • @wheeldood6130
      @wheeldood6130 Před 7 lety +1

      Andrei Petunin Segways in the UK are illegal. Also they are classed as motorized Scooters because they have 2 wheels. Electric Unicycles are neither legal nor illegal. However, ride responsible and slow on footpaths with it and you are fine. Electric Unicycles are illegal to ride on roads. On Roads they would be classed as a motorized vehicle which need to be licensed and Mot. If police stop you do not argue. Be nice and kind and try to awake their interest. Most police are very nice. All I said applies only to the UK.
