#GMA #WelcometoWrexham #Wrexham #RyanReynolds #Football #Soccer - Zábava
"I now love this sport so much, I hate it" Ryan has fully become a football fanatic 😂
Yeah, the Americans on the panel laughed while I'm pretty sure every single football fan regardless of race, gender, sexuality or team just nod our heads. Very few Americans or Canadians will ever understand the difference between a fan and a supporter.
I'm from Wrexham and these two have done more for the community than anyone else in me eyes, the whole town and area is buzzing since they took over there's an air of 'we can do this we really can'.
The passion from the Wrexham supporters at the game brings a shiver down your spine it really does, thank you to all our new supporters across the pond and around the world we really do appreciate it.
Diolch Y Fawr ( Thank You in Welsh ).
I love that the documentary includes the people of Wrexham as well as the players and staff of the team. There’s such a wonderful spirit and sense of pride that is heartwarming to see. I hope the team and city do well because you all deserve the best!
I am also from Wrexham and I agree with every word you have wrote Dave 100% ..... Even if this ends in a few years the good it has done will last the club and the town (I refuse to use city) a lifetime
I'm from a small town in Indiana (USA) but watching the documentary I've really fallen in love with the Wrexham community and spirit. I am rooting so hard for your team and am excited to learn more about football. I was very nervous to hear two celebrities buying a Welsh team, I just didn't want them to mess it up and be "those Americans". So I'm really happy to hear positive reviews from the Wrexham community and hear they really are making a difference!
@@kjklea1 Unlike some that have bought premiership clubs, Rob and Ryan have been awesome from start to present, they have been open and transparent from the off and away from the TV show, i have been lucky enough to watch everything unfold on a local level, for 2 Hollywood A listers to open themselves up to our town and community the way they have, is nothing short of remarkable, they come here with no fanfare or entourage, just them like they are normal everyday joes, madness really, although we have had Will Farrel and David Beckham at some of the games so not totally normal guys lol, they have embraced our community and the good they are doing not just for the club and town but the county (our version of a state I guess ?) as whole has been amazing, btw love Indiana jealous much.
They've definitely given the club hope and if Wrexham keep playing the way they are you should be out of that division and back in the pro leagues where they should be good luck.
I love Ryan uses the word 'Stewardship', not 'Ownership', like he is respectful of the fact that they are in service of the club, and it's their duty to take care of it, and it's not just a possession they own.
as a welsh wrexham fan i can tell you folks over the pond i now follow the eagles and watch canadian hockey. these owners are fantastic ppl and they put their money where their mouth is. thankyou rob and ryan we are so privaleged to have such great owners.now thats enough kiss ass lets get promoted !!!!!!
Why did they own the club?
@@youtubeuserandchef471 Rob saw a real chance at the way things are now in English football, top heavy billion dollar clubs in the premier league, where a small but well supported team down at the bottom could theoretically make it to the Premier league and be worth hundreds of millions. Ryan only gets involved in businesses where he can "do good" while making money. That was solved when they both decided if they failed, they would simply let the community buy the club back from them. But with all the incredible PR, the club is worth more than 3 million they paid for it, and they might even already have a profit with the series. Even if they only make it to the second division of football, the club will be worth a lot of money.
@@11matt11 well said mate
I've loved football ever since I was a 10-year old kid and loved Ryan once I saw him in that "Two guys" sitcom ears ago. So naturally I am going to support Wrexham now. Go the Dragons! Win that promotion!
Welcome to being an Eagles fan, the last 15 years of Wrexam have prepared you well for the joy and pain that comes with it ! You have found a good year to follow the Birds though, as we have had one of the best starts to a season in a long time. I like to think something magical came our way from Wrexham this season :D
The town/city are loving these two guys
"I love this sport so much i hate it"
Ryan really does get it then 🤣
Rob however really shows his genuine care for a community based club and gets what a club like Wrexham means to working class family as his club the Eagles meant that to him and his when he was a lad
He has no idea what an offside penalty is. no he doesn't get it.
Rob is from Philly, he truly understands what the team means to the community and the lows that come from it. He stated early on he wants the people of Wrexham to experience the high he felt when the Eagles won the superbowl after all those years of loss.
@@shaynejenkins446 because there's no such thing as an "offside penalty"
At least Rob knows it's just called offside not offside penalty lmao
@@shaynejenkins446 who the hell does??? Not even referees and VAR!!! Give him a break!!
Wrexham lad here. LOVE the fact that Rob is straight in there with 'football not soccer'
Warms the heart doesn't it! ⚽️
but it was the Brits who came up with "soccer", not us Yanks. Can't stand that handball game with an egg instead of a ball, it's not "football".
@@MrKBX-hq8ov Sure, but only the posh fucks used it.
I’m a huge American football fan but even I feel weird saying soccer when globally it’s football. Watched the Sidemen for years, think that’s where my pet peeve started from hearing them say football so much it just stuck with me
@@MrKBX-hq8ov The definition of Football is 'any game played on foot and with a ball' (as opposed to on a horse, for instance)... I can't stand the American version but they have every right to call it football
I've been to Wrexham many times - if a town ever deserved this - it's Wrexham. It was destroyed by de-industrialisation. The people are wonderful. The place has heart. Rob and Ryan, please don't let them down.
Oh, I don't know. I lived there when I went to college for a year around '94. Back then it was a busy town with few, if any, empty stores. Seen clips of it now and it isn't the same place. But it's happened everywhere in the last 30 years. Holyhead and Bangor both had thriving town centres when I was growing up but the introduction of out of town shopping areas hit them badly ... and then came the internet, eBay and Amazon to put the last nails in their coffins.
True, Wrexham is a dump
@@daviddavies3637 I agree ebay and amazon are a blight on small communities and the businesses there. We are allowing minor convenience and savings to destroy the backbone of society. Huge internet stores are actually a cancer of society, the destroy pretty much every area they enter.
Personally I would vote and support any councillor who's election pledge was "I will ban ebay and amazon deliveries in this area". Its really one of the best things we can do to stop this slow erosion of communities.
Even my wife who hates football, absolutely loved ' Welcome to Wrexham ' Great video!
Ryan is such an amazing ambassador for Canada. He truly embodies all the qualities we hold so dear as Canadians.
Unfortunately your priminister ironically trashes all of that. Hopefully someone good will get back in power again so that the world can be reminded of how great Canada is as opposed to what it’s become
Unfortunately your priminister ironically trashes all of that. Hopefully someone good will get back in power again so that the world can be reminded of how great Canada is as opposed to what it’s become
Really. The one before him was dreadful. And forgetable.
I'm not a Wrexham fan, and I couldn't be more pleased for their fans that they have owners that understand the community aspect and can bring one of our great old clubs of the Football League back.
Absolutely. Being from the other end of North Wales with no professional clubs nearby, Wrexham were always my second team after Manchester United. The owners of these two clubs couldn't be more different. Wrexham could end up in the 9th tier and the fans would probably back Rob'n'Ryan purely because of the respect shown to them. United could win the Champions League again and people would still want the Glazers out.
West Ham fan here, I've just started watching the series and I think it's fantastic - I look out for Wrexham's results now 👍
Same
It's really great these two wonderful men are spreading and promoting Wrexham in the USA
Doing more for Wrexham and Wales, than any politician
It has to be said: If Ryan Reynolds is involved in this, it’s in good hands. He is such a good honest hardworking man & genuinely cares about other humans & our planet. So nice to see both of them team up to do good things together. Looking forward to all they will accomplish.
A couple of things that made me smile since they went to Wrexham. When they showed plans of the new bar at the ground Ryan asked if it would effect pub trade opposite. And Rob learning Welsh. You lot have done well all the best
Both of them are awesome guys. Wrexham football club are lucky to have owners like them and i genuinely want the club to succeed under their ownership. As a Liverpool fan i now have a non league club to cheer on and kick off bew football manager seasons with. Good luck Ryan, Rob and Wrexham AFC
I'm a big fan of Ryan and Rob! It's always sunny is my favourite show.
Best show ever, I've seen all 15 seasons several times now.
In love with the docuseries!
I binged all episodes yesterday. Did not google the results beforehand. Great story. Want more!
I wish them every success, they deserve it.I'm an AFC Wimbledon (south London) fan,you will be playing us next year if you get promoted.See you both at Pough Lane.God Bless you boys.
I just really love these two. Using their fame to uplift others.
"some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you its much more important than that" I go to the same stadium to watch the same team that my great grandfather did over 100 years ago, Its in our DNA, Wrexham play in the 5th tier of English and Welsh football, but I guarantee you their fans are as passionate about their club as any premier league club, and with our system of promotion and relegation no matter how far down the leagues a club falls the fans always have hopes and dreams, Its what makes the atmosphere so good compared to any other sport, loving watching the resurgence of Wrexham AFC from a Wolves fan
You're wrong mate, they are not as passionate as any Premier League supporter. They are 10 times more so. Anyone can jump on a gravy train of glory, it takes passion, dedication, love, belonging, and a host of other qualities needed to support a "small" team. I was born in Newcastle, I can't support anyone else, but being part of the Toon Army is relatively easier because we're nuts. I genuinely don't care when people say we haven't won things, when I get peeved is hearing we have no history. We bloody well do. Wrexham is full of history, full of Welsh fire, and passion. Good luck to them all. My mate, born and bred in Wolverhampton (he calls it the capital of Europe), will tell you all about the history, and passion of Wolves. Remember your first away game in the 4th tier, think it was against Scarborough (not going to cheat by looking it up, so correct me if I'm wrong), the passion of those fans to keep going, a million miles away from the Premier League. 10 times their worth.
It's honestly very endearing to see what's happening to Wrexham FC.....Two owners who know nothing of the sport and end up falling in love with it. The history and people of Wrexham are incredibly special........How can you not be Romantic about Football?
To hear the talk about Wrexham Afc with so much respect to a USA audience. Well done just well done
Rooting for Wrexham is the easiest thing in the world, Americans have the luxury of hopping on multiple bandwagons. Seeing Wrexham get promoted is something I cannot wait to see. It's inspiring to see what they're doing for a club that truly deserves it.
“Hire people who know what they’re doing and get out of way”
Is probably the best business owner advice anyone can give.
🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦 We are so VERY proud of OUR amazing Ryan & now honourary Canadian Rob! As a first generation Canadian of a Welsh mom, I say GO GENTLEMAN!!! Help bring the joys and heartbreaks of football ⚽️ to North America!!!
I am a fan of the sport and I never heard of wrexham prior to R&R buying the team. These two appear to be 2 honest guys with good intentions and it caught my attention. I watched the show and been following their progress. Now, I watched their FA cup games and follow their progress on a weekly basis. I can say I am a fan of wrexham! They fight and fight I love it. You guys are lucky to have these two guys as owners.
What I like about these two is that they are not afraid of being called "Mr. Nice Guy".
As a Stockport fan we all know what happens at the end of season and the banter we created between ourselves and Wrexham it was a great season after we beat Bolton 5-3 and then it was all uphill
I wish they owned Man Utd !!!! Go Wrexham … love the documentary. Wishing you all the best of luck 🤞
UTD fans bitch and moan when there's 250 million spent in 1 transfer window. These guys don't have EPL money, yet
This is Ted Lasso come into reality and embracing the Wrexham community is so endearing. Good cop bad cop between Ryan and Rob, I'm hoping someday will show you both in uniforms and aviators.
I'm from Ireland and a huge fan 💋
Good cop/bad cop, more like hugh honey and vic vinegar 🤣
@@PropDue , I was just about to say that, LOL! Did you catch the 1/2 second clip of Vic Vinegar in this video? 😂
Blessed to have two such wonderful owners at my football club
The docuseries was SO excellent (I never gave a damn about the game, or any sport, before this) that I'm in full withdrawals. Wish they'd just've kept going and given us the continuing years. Forever. Damn you, Rob & Ryan!
Great interview. I love that Rob & Ryan truly respect the club, the Wrexham community & supporters. I'm from Alabama and I've supported Liverpool for 33 years, It's great to see owners who truly care about the club and their supporters. I wish Wrexham all the best with promotion and success as the club moves forward.
You'll never walk alone, Brian!
Considering how shit Liverpool are this year, you might wanna consider swapping over to Wrexham for a few years ;)
@@TzunSu tbf it’s cause most of their good players are injured
Apart from anything else it's just a really good docu-series.
I am very envious of their journey. Go Wrexham!
Well done guys as a Welsh guy from Newport South Wales in the UK yesterday payed off and well done to Wrexham for winning and the promotion up a league and winning the league happy days.
I'm from Ireland, love these guys and the history of Wrexham FC. Love the date on the Jersey and also their faith in a few Irish players.
Congratulations on promotion to the championship, the fans can dare to dream of premier league status in a few seasons.
I for one will be a fan 👏👏🙏🇮🇪
Watching Wrexham in Australia ...the show will be fantastic if on they end this amazing season with automatic promotion, 4 games to go!!
Ohh Rob and Ryan, welcome welcome welcome to the wonderfully amazing, heartbreakingly frustrating, lovely world of FOOTBALL🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳World Cup 2022 let’s go!! And to Wrexham AFC cheers cheers!!
This has brightened my morning. A life long Wrecsam supporter here. I've been to Cae Ras more times than I can remember. Da Iawn boys!
Our Canadian icon. Love this guy
As an Albion fan for 60 years Ryan summed football up exactly of how a fanatical fan feels. You love the club and game so much that you hate it because of the wringer it puts you through.
Ryan is really good at painting a picture with his words
Yes, FOOTBALL CLUB ⚽️
it's impossible not to love Ryan...
So proud to be Welsh! Diolch yn fawr i'r ddau yma!! 💙 xxx
I've watched all 18!! It's spectacular!! Man Ron and Ryan are great!!, wonderful people! Great story of their friendship in my opinion apart from an amazing hearts towards The community 😊💪👏😒
I love the show, and I've never watched soccer in my life. I binged all the episodes available a few days ago.
Gotta say, one of the things I thought the two lads did well was support the players through the disappointments of the first season. It promised so much but they fell at the last hurdle only to have these gentlemen tell them how good they have been for the community. Respect.
What a year 2023 turned out to be for Wrexham!
This is a GREAT show. It's not all love & hearts & everything working perfectly In 1 season. These are great actors and now we know they're so much more than what we thought. They're smart, caring and good businessmen.
My only thing is they need more merchandise ordered up. They are literally out of clothing merch.
I'm an Oxford United fan, but I've also found myself looking at Wrexham's results, because I'm curious to see how far Rob and Ryan can take them. They could have spent their money on anything but chose to buy a football club. Good luck to them.
I'm sooo glad they didn't buy Oxford `united instead.... Swindon fan here ;-D
@@peterburry2531 they could have bought Swindon. Would've been a lot cheaper.
@@tempusfugit9796 Good one.... You're right, though, as they wouldn't have had to build a fourth stand
@peterburry2531 we're moving, so they would have had to pay for a whole new stadium.
@@tempusfugit9796 Back to Headington?
The University of Oxford, in England coined the term "soccer", it is a British term that of course was adopted here in the U.S. So when Brits complain that Americans call it soccer, just keep in mind, it came from England as that was the nickname for the sport IN ENGLAND.
"Linguistically creative students at the University of Oxford in the 1880s distinguished between the sports of “rugger” (rugby football) and “assoccer” (association football). The latter term was further shortened to “soccer” (sometimes spelled “socker”), and the name quickly spread beyond the campus."
And the definition of football is: 'any sport played on foot and with a ball'.
@@peterburry2531 That definition doesn’t really make sense though, it could equally apply to tennis or dodge ball.
That said, there are several codes of football worldwide, soccer, rugby football. Canadian football, American football, Australian rules football, Gaelic football etc.
They are all team sports which rely on kicking a ball to some extent.
Ok Ryan is so funny, comedy is so natural to him
is the Canadian in him.
Same with Rob check always sunny
I already love Rob and Ryan but these sports presenters were wholesome as well, they seemed genuinely interested and everyone had good vibes. Wholesome all round.
Damn that was highly entertaining. Everybody on that set flowed beautifully together. Reynolds is hysterical
This was so great!
For those wondering, association football ⚽️ and gridiron football 🏈 used to be a perfect distinction between the two until both dropped the adjective and just said football. Rugby 🏉 fans took the other route and dropped the word football and just called it Rugby.
Gridiron (American) football 🏈 actually did use their feet to advance the ball forward from 1869-1906. Then in October 1906, the forward pass was legalized; and no one bothered to change the name.
I wonder if there's anyone in the world that while being unbiased seriously could dislike/hate Ryan, it's impossible imo
The best thing thats happened to Wrexham in a long time. Well deserved. Great to see!
Go on the boys. Fair play to them and the town of Wrexham. Brilliant stuff
America is such a young nation... i mean, if the stadium is from the louisiana purchase era. . YIKES
Rob & Ryan buying Wrexham and making the docuseries has transformed me into a superfan. I'm online daily trying to buy uniform shirts to show my support. Store is always completely sold out.
Makes me smile😊
YESSSSSSSSS OMGOSHES LOVE THEM BOTH !!
Congratulations 🎉🎉
Love that show! Ryan & Rob! The fans! Etc. I look forward to Thursday now. New episodes. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. You’ll love it!
I love that Rob corrects her ❤
Love this. So much respect for the club and its history. He said going to a game is like a religion for the fans. Its What you eat, sleep and breath. Im a United fan but have been following this for a while. Well done lads, keep on going.
Just love em, great for Wrexham
Great show , they are currently in 1st. Routing for them to get promoted.
arsenal fan but these two seem like amazing owners and I hope they can get wrexham to the premier league one day
Just fantastic. I moved to Canada in 1990 and Ryan & Rob are embracing this like they just bought the Maple Leafs!
Hello, hello, we are the Wrexham Boys,
Hello, hello, we shout and make a noise,
We are the greatest in the land, and no one can deny,
We will follow the Wrexham
(butchered from Nottm. Forest)
Cheers, and all the best from Penticton, BC.
Did you hear Ryan is considering joining a group to buy the Ottawa Senators? Not sure when we will know if it's happening.
The Leafs are kinda the opposite of Wrexham though, a rich franchise which doesn’t need to win.
didn't really know each other, didn't know anything about football, bought a club on the other side of the atlantic ocean...... makes sense.
I'm not a Wrexham fan. But I find myself wanting to do very well and climb the leagues. I even watch their games now from time to time when I can find one.
Currently sat second in their league. The third oldest professional club in the world are sat 3 points behind the oldest professional club in the world. That's just nuts. I remember going to the Racecourse with my school to watch Wales v Bulgaria in 1983 (I think). We were behind the goal where the winning goal was scored and I recently found a very grainy clip of that match. I'm amongst the kids jumping up and down behind that goal. That side of the ground is now derelict as the club couldn't afford to meet the new requirement for all-seater stadiums after the Hillsborough disaster. Hopefully someone can come in and inject a bit more cash to renovate it (Rob'n'Ryan can't be expected to pay for everything).
Congratulations on your championship AND PROMOTION TO THE EFL...! 🎉👏👏
Hey Ryan as a Canadian my self...i am gonna change my team from New Castle ...Now i am gonna ride the wave with you and Wrexham Fans...what a cool name for any sports team....Hello Wrexham from North Bay Ontario Canada...gonna order both away and home jerseys.
You can support both, it would take years for Wrexham to make the EPL. They're worried about getting into the football league first.
FYI it’s Newcastle…
The fact they defend the term football vs soccer whilst addressing an American audience highlights how much they are fully invested in the team.
Diolch hogiau. It’s always sunny up here now. Hey oh!
This show just might get me back into football .
Ryan not making fun of you true story every time I watch you your nervous hands move lol just a fan that you are the kindness, funniest guy an wait not bad looking at all..
