New game Valhalla 2 continues, Valhalla a new Viking franchise.
Finally a city in Valhalla that is densely packed and is parkour available. Even though the parkour mechanics can be way better, I’m glad Paris seems to be an old school AC city
Yeah, still the lack of parkour animations makes it average.
The parkour mechanic is fine it just a basic climbing cause theres no parkour back then
But it's a game. More fun to put the parkour animation like old assassin's creed games.

Listen to how quiet this city is. Meanwhile in assassins creed brotherhood you can hear so many ambient sounds of the citizens conversing, preaching, advertising, etc. This has no soul. This used to be my favorite series and now nearly nothing remains that made the earlier games so good.

@@salazarstudioz493 there's still plenty of people on the streets, they didn't converse back then? Damn
Oh please... don't act like assassins creed back then was amazing, the ezio trilogy was average, most of them were dogshit, tons of copy and paste missions, bad side quest, boring storyline, shitty characters except ezio, y'all overhype them too much
@@thebogarts6191 Yes, they have definitely improved a lot of things (missions, storyline and character depth as you mentioned) but they also took away the core of this series which made the original games shine and added tons of replay value in my opinion. And there's more than this. I don't hate the first games, love the stories, had lot better characters than Arno, it's just the parkour is genuinely better.

Parkour is so stiff no matter how smooth you try to make it. It's like your momentum resets with every jump rather than carrying on.
considering that the guy has like 20 kg in clothes I find his moves very fluid
exactly
@@orlandobernal1489 It isn't that. Even if Eivor is carrying more weight, those extra kgs should have a proper impact when jumping from one platform to another. Instead it is that, we feel the weight of the jump at the beginning, Eivor becomes floaty during the jump and lands on the platform like a feather.
100% agree on that point, the momentum just isn't there so it doesnt feel like parkour at all

I cant believe how Ubisoft managed to make the city feels empty after more than 15yrs of experience in creating assassins creed cities with full of life. It feels like a 3D city walkthrough.
This is a whole different time Era. This is the time period of vikings. Cities can be found completely destroyed or in poor condition. There is only depression and destruction. Rarely would u find really happy or talkative people in these cities.
@@xcenerate2052 let me change what i said. There is no sense of place, not even spirit of the place (genus locci)
In GTA san andreas theres not a lot of npc roaming around. But you feel invested to the place, you feel that you really lived in a certain area in the city
Looks alright, but doesn't look very distinct at there seems to be no atmosphere. I really wish AC went back to a big, one city urban map in a big bustling Metropolis. Ancient Rome would be amazing.
I’ve been wanting a modern, even a futuristic assassins creed for that exact reason for years. Personally tired of them dragging out the ancient cities everyone wants to see badly. It’s all going to be bland and huge anyways, aside from potentially mediocre Ubisoft-ish writing (why are my Viking characters and all npc Viking characters like the Ragnarsons written with the dialogue and the body language of an expressive Italian Renaissance painter, very enthusiastically pg13 if that makes sense).
However, if it was futuristic….. they could focus on the vertical aspect of city navigation, something grand and fine tuned, with a very distinct, almost tactical/vigilante like atmosphere. A verticality that could be a character in its own way, using tools and skills to traverse and maybe even a grappling hook (i mean they used them in Victorian era London on their WRISTS!) but with multiple functions and not entirely to take away from the parkour. With the futuristic setting (not like super advanced and far into the future but like 20-30 years from now) they could add technology, better weapons, have a good combat system when the need arises (certain parts stealth, certain parts close quarters melee combat, and certain parts run and gun) like the Arkham games mixed with Ghost Recon. (and sequel to this could be post apocalyptic? I mean why not?? They’ve done enough crazy shit with the last few games)
And of course the natural progression from the assassins hidden blade… is Baraka blades coming out the top of the fists 😎
And get better writers.
But it is Ubisoft so I doubt my ideal AC game sequel and natural progression into this world ending type potential masterpiece would ever come to fruition, they’re gonna milk AC til it withers. Thanks for reading, my bad for the long reply. I use to love AC but now… meh lol
Or how ac 1 and 2’s cities had a color tone to them, that was pretty neat.
To me the best formula is that of two big cities with a countryside between them.

The lack of npcs in this game is hilarious. Especially for a city such as Paris
Altho there were alot of npcs in assassin's creed unity, I feel like that's a really nice touch. It's a revolution, people burning books throwing chairs raising flags and fighting really added alot to the feel of the setting.

Fabric of tents and ropes are like cement, this is just ridiculous, is it so difficult to implement normal physics for these objects in 2021?
difficult? probably not. performance expensive? most likely, since having several hundreds/thousands of physics objects all around would tax performance unnecessarily.
I'm just guessing though.

God the parkour is wack in this game
That’s the perfect word for it. Not amazing, not terrible. Just wack
It's bearable. I wish they put a bit more style to the way the character moves. But it's okay tho.
@@imnotrussian9463 Yeah, I absolutely agree that it’s “ok”. It gets you where you wanna go, but is very consistently clunky and slow, yet super fast and convenient at the same time. Yeah, there are more wide open spaces and less confined cities with parkour-friendly architecture, but they’re not non-existent, and when you cant manually jump, catch ledge, or side eject (reliably) it really sours the traversal experience. So yeah, it gets me where I need to go, but there are too many moments where I go “I would’ve gotten here much quicker if I could just side eject.”
@@dachshund_gaming yh it gets you where you wanna go but as you said it's slow and clunky and dunno about fast at the same time because the old assassin's creeds felt 10x faster then this, but I will say its better then odysseys because the parkour in that game was absolutely garbage, I stopped playing valhalla and recently started playing unity again and it just feels and looks amazing, feels more fluid, has completely better style when your doing parkour, you have more control and it never gets boring within 2 mins, even the combat is better in unity in my opinion, it just needs more improvements so they can use it in future assassin's creeds but they downgraded the hell outa this game, for me at least
it's pain in the a$$, and worst of all is when you are hiking on a cliff, or you are coming down of it, there isn't a way to just throw yourself off and you can jump from ledges, you have to slowly come down or up, as if you are walking so damn freaking slow
After 14 years, ropes are still rock solid :D
I love how every string hanging between the buildings and every tent behaves like it was made from solid concrete and they haven't done anything about it from AC1.

@@nikolaorsmth i think its ur pc problem my ps4 pro is alright just some bugs when alot of people walk
To be fair the concept of parkour didn't existe in Odyssey, Valhalla or origins timeline. Specially since they were not assassins, yes origins mc wasn't an assassin, he was a founder of the hidden ones, those are the ancestors of the assassin's not the assassin's themselves. So honestly that kind of movement would only make sense if the assassin's introduced it as a part of the training since the roots of parkour are actually military obstacle course and Chinese martial arts.
