Not a Canucks fan, but I think Corwin’s punishment should be buying two tickets for the Canucks fans with the best comment on either this video of the last video. Not right by the glass, but two reasonable seats for a Canucks game.

As a big Canucks fan the signings have actually been our best players.
Lafferty and Suter have taken our penalty kill from literally last in the league to at least average which is a big jump for us.

I would love to hear your guys opinion on Blackwood. Dude has been standing on his head in loosing efforts because the Sharks have no defense. 51 of 52 against the aves only to lose in a shootout and 36 of 42 in a game the Sharks only got 16. The dude's working hard.
Corwin's punishment should be he has to buy everyone at the table tickets to the next Canucks game in Toronto, while he stands outside the arena with a sign saying "I should have believed in the Canucks"

To take it a step further, if the Canucks finish above the Coyotes this season, Corwin should get a Tyler Myers jersey and then wear it to a Seattle Kraken home game. Seattle fans HATE Tyler Myers. Now THAT's a suitable punishment for Corwin's hubris.

I am new to the NHL this season and I 100% agree with how it is difficult to keep up with "Star Players" because they are only on the ice for so long. I am not familiar with when a small but important and/or great play is made because focusing on where the puck is and who has it seems most important. Still trying to figure the small details out.

Coming into the nhl is a big jump up. I think Beddard just needs to figure out how he needs to shoot vs nhl goalies and they'll start coming easier for him.
I honestly like. Respect what you guys say about Canucks making minor moves because yeah these players aren't big names, but the value added is imo crazy. It's basically a whole new defense with Soucy, Hronek, Cole, and Juulsen. The PK is so much better. The backcheck is so much better. Like the wins against Edmonton aren't anything, but analyze their play against the best PP in the league and compare it with last year. So many chances that would have been goals last year. Once Myers is gone they can fill his slot with someone else and Hughes will be the only D-man left from last year. The offense really didn't need that much work but they retooled it correctly. The top two lines are crazy (the Petey-Kuzy-Beauvilier line combo is slept on) and the bottom 6 bring a lot to the table (Joshua, Di Giuseppe, Suter), and I think adding Blueger and Lafferty were great low-key moves to improve the offense, and this year there's actually depth. The forecheck looks so much better. One thing to work on is passing, there are so many atrociously bad passes in the O-zone every game which are brutal. Another issue is giveaways in the D-zone like last night in Philadelphia.
And goaltending is crazy. A healthy Demko and Casey DeSmith. DeSmith is a massive stud and could easily start 35-40 games. This is an awesome tandem that's gonna steal games every night. It's been back to back to back 40-shot performances. Demko stole so many goals from the Flyers last night and the one thing shining through that game is his performance in net. Day and night difference from last year with Martin and Delia.
Gotta talk about Tocchet too because he's such a good fit for the Canucks. What they needed was a tough veteran player to break up that complacent, pissy, whiny country club attitude in the locker room. He's got two rings and the record for Gordie Howes all time. he's the right kind of person for sure. He especially lifts up guys like JT Miller who need more motivation and support or guys like Dakota Joshua who are big tough forechecking fighters who need support to really flourish and need systems that benefit them. I also love how honest he is with the fanbase and the press, us fans have been so sick with getting no info for so many years. And love how he's slow to compliment and quick to criticize, but doing both in a non-toxic, constructive way. That's the correct attitude for sure, everyone seems to be buying in and playing the way he needs them to, seems to be working. Ofc the team's a work in progress for some years to come but he's the coach to lead us into a new era and hopefully a finals run.
The two guys they need to dump are Garland and Myers. Thankfully Garland wants a trade anyways and Myers' brutal contract is expiring which should help with the tight cap situation. Fill those spots with some real players and lose the dead weight.
This year is not going to be like last year because last year was a total collapse with a coaching change, two AHL goalies, no defense, no stability, no captain. This year they have an amazing captain, two amazing goalies, new systems that have been proven to work, and a completely new defense. I don't think they're cup-bound this year, but this core is easily going to the final at some point within the next 5+ years. They might choke like 82, 94, or 11, but they could win. So we'll see.
Corwin's punishment if he's wrong should be to wear a (ideally signed) Messier captain jersey in like, one of the top corners of Rogers Arena where the real fans sit like others have been saying. No way Arizona finishes above and this year I see the Canucks as serious wild card contenders for sure.

I think the biggest difference from last season for the Canucks is they will have a healthy demko all year. To say they will finish with the same points with way better goalies is the issue.

Some of the in game coverage of Bedard is annoying, but you guys make a great point about star building and how this is what the NHL should be doing. It's also just glaring that this is only for Bedard. They should be doing this for the other huge stars of the game, like McDavid, Matthews, Pastrnak, etc all the time too. Especially McDavid, I showed my dad who doesn't really like hockey a fan made highlight reel of McDavid and he was blown away at what he saw and now knows his name and what team he plays for. Of course it doesn't help that McDavid has the personality of a wet towel, but it's not like Wayne Gretzky has an engaging personality either. It can be done for more than just Bedard.

DeBrincat Larkin and Raymond line is looking pretty awesome early on in Detroit. Too early yes but offensively Detroit is looking great. Power play is kicking. Outshooting opponents every game. Defense and goaltending except for the 4-0 shutout in Columbus has been off and needs attention but still fun team to watch
