In my head in the timeskip Suga is not only a teacher but also a volleyball coach. He has all the characteristics to become a respectful, strategic and great coach.
First round of Spring Tournament he read the opponents with ease. I think he's a much better floor general than Kageyama, unfortunately the first year was just ridiculously skilled.

I always said that Suga’s character should’ve gotten a more important role since he was the only third year that didn’t start. Something along the lines of making him some master strategist (like Kenma) since he’s on the sideline so much and can see the game from a whole other angle. I still love Sugawara regardless though
