Who wins: 2025 4Runner or 2024 4Runner and why? I'd love if you choose to click Subscribe...I'm trying to reach 20,000 subscribers by the end of May and you'd be awesome for helping out! Jeff
Everyone wins when you choose 4Runner.
Great answer Hog!!
@@AutoJeffReviews 😉
Both can’t pick. I have a 2017 and love it
@@rightlanehog3151 I would not touch the 2025...... The reason you buy a 4Runner is for reliability. I do not see that in the new power train.. More complicated for no reason.. It has not proven itself yet, especially when I see the 2022 Tundra platform have so many issues ..... Now in 5 years, we will talk again,.
I would love for somebody to put the 4.0L in the 25 to prove my point that all it needed was a transmission upgrade. But 5th gen will always be king.
5th gen for the win!
Lunar rock #1 21 TRD pro 4R
I will keep my 2017 limited, 7 years later and I still love it. 75,000 miles, just getting there…many thousand miles to go…God Willing 🙏🏻
Thanks for the video, today I bought a Brand New 2024 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium in Solar Octane.
Wow you got a great one
@@AutoJeffReviews Thanks! I'm still pinching myself, but I'm sure it's true! I parked it in my garage next to a 2014 FJ Cruiser with a manual transmission.
My octane just hit the ground in port of LA. I hope to get delivery in a few weeks
I happen to know someone with the latest tacoma with the 4 cyl turbo and a tacoma from the last year of the 6cyl engine. The turbo toacoma gets a whopping 1mpg increase over the 6 cyl. The moment you tow something that advantage disappears. Big time. When towing the tacoma with turbo gets 6 mpg less than the 6 cyl Why would it be any different in the new 2025 4 runner. The 4runners use the same engines as the tacomas. Sorry but this is a big fail from Toyota.
They will be selling 2024 TRD Pro 4Runners at Barrett Jackson in 10 years...the same time people with 2025 TRD Pros will be replacing turbos and batteries for $20k+
Love the 2024!! Great review!
So far it’s a big pass on the one. Even the easy stuff to get right Toyota got wrong, gloss piano black trim all over a TRD pro???
the battery chemistry that TOYOTA is using here is ancient
I’m sticking with the fourth GEN
Glad I got my 2021 4runner TRD Off Road, I wouldn't trade it for the 2025.
Is the 2025 missing an engine cover? It looks such a mess under the hood.
Super excited for the new gen!
Any vague idea when new trim color options will be announced?
Do you feel the 2024 4runner 2nd row has more leg room vs. the 2025 (if you sat behind yourself)? Thx
So the last one had proper hood struts and the new one has a prop rod from a 1993 Tercel. Very nice. Take my money!!!
My biggest question/concern is do I have to use the electric motor all the time or do I have the ability to shut it off? I personally would like to never use so that when I am camping I always have a fresh battery. Thank you for the great video!
2024 - IPhone
2025 - Android
24 remains undefeated
In your analogy shouldn't the 2025 be the iPhone since it's gonna be way overpriced and have less RAM (4 cylinder) vs the 2024 5th gen/Android with more RAM (6 cylinder)?
Depends on many things but pricing is a huge one. The jump on Tacoma was astronomical and IMO unjustified. 60k tops
I’m new to 4Runner, as an outsider looking in I’ll definitely get the 2025 6th gen. Been saving for it and I trust Toyota knows what they’re doing with the new engine. I’ll get the TRD pro
First year of a radical redesign is risky. Even proven vehicles ( reliability) have quirks at inception. Usully 2-3 modal years before they work out rhe kinks. At least if u have a 5th gen u can watch from a safe distance. Simplicity / reliability rules.
Jeff test drive it and let us know if it’s worth getting over 5th gen
Jeff, my wife just purchased that 2024 4runner in your video
That’s awesome!!!!!
Compare these vehicles in two years. I'm willing to bet that the 2024 four runner will be running just fine, the 2025 will have several issues with the four cylinder turbo.
I had a 2021 Limited 4Runner and it was a great vehicle. However, the gas mileage was really poor and I drive too much. The 5 speed transmission was dated. Time for an update. Can I afford a 2025 model who knows?
2025 выглядит лучше и я могу о нём только мечтать.
i'll take my 24 TRD Pro over the 2025, its tested and reliability is the reason why
Jeff, what is PDA??
Proactive Driving Assist
Wow, looking at the 25 I’m so glad I got the 24, last year of the classic. The 25 looks like a Chevy Tahoe or something I really don’t like it.
Yeah I was thinking Durango.
I like both, but the interior where you spend most of your time in the 24 needed to be redone. I wouldn’t spend the money on a TRD pro, but rather an off road…so in choosing I would pick the new model
As a long time Toyota fan, these last couple of years have been disappointing with the new releases. Higher prices and unproven (more likely less reliable engines) have made me want to look toward another brand. Just sad. 😢
Can you please measure the 2025 cargo in inches . Especially the height
I can the next time I see one :)
@@AutoJeffReviews thank you
They took a a spartan teuck and turned into an I pad holder. That antiquated 6 cyl and 5 speed was described by the car care nut as super reliable but more importantly over built, hence the reliability. Don't care for the interior. The EPA has manufactures jumping thru flaming hoops to meet emission requirements. Buy a used or left over 24 and put the savings into a magnason super charger, lol!
2024 was great! 2025 must be great too.
Toyota is crazy for taking away the engine cover and hood struts. Aside from that, i do love the look of the new one as it still looks rugged
I think it needs the 5th gen 4R roof basket
To my choice I'm going to pick 2024 4Runner. For sure the 2025 4Runner would be more EPA friendly and have lot of new tech, but that's not my choice.
I like the new upgrades except I don't like the turbo I would prefer a v6 engine with hybrid battery I will pass on the 2025
I like it but the dealer already told me they are gonna mark it up 10-15k. Its BS
Wow smh they told you that before they even get them?
Two separate dealers told me that. I have contacts at both
The interior on my 2024 is so classy and beautiful. The 25 looks so bad and plastic. 24 is better in every way and has a much better motor.
Ill take the new '25 better tech and more power...finally soemthing new and fresh. Nothing against the '24 model great vehicle but it was time for a upgrade. Besides I dont think Toyota would risk making a bad vehicle the new one will be great and reliable I just know it! 😄🤙
2024
24 for the reliably and for the long term compared to the 25 👎imo!!
I agree with you 100% the 24 4runner is more reliable then the 25 not only that but the 24 TRD PRO LOOKS BETTER compared to the 25
@@BUFFALOBILLS1991 👍
But you don’t know how reliable the 25 will be in the long run. It may have issues at the start but if it stays on the market for 10 years or more it might eventually just be as reliable. I doubt the current gen was bulletproof from the get go
@@braalo07 Turbos just aren’t my thing that’s all , imo turbos just don’t last like the NA engines .
@@Troystoy you have a point, especially in the truck that is used more harshly than other types of cars
The new one looks like a Dodge Durango had a baby with a Rav4, not really a fan. Thanks Kevin Hunters design team. All the new turbo engines are a hell no from me.
Loving the new 25!! Really excited for the TrailHunter!
I don’t mind some of the updates, but I don’t want a taco front end. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
Money talks and bull-shot prices walk. This is my opinion on which year is better.
2024 wolf 2025 sheep
No electric brakey-parts for me thank you!
To bad the insides of the 2025 4runner (gen6) are so flimsy, everything shakes or is made by cheap plastic and not rugged at all. huge setback for Toyota quality.
Oh yeah, But $15k more like the Tacoma TRD Pro . No, no for me I will keep my 5th gen for life.
24
Top side of that engine looks like a bad science project. I’ve been thinking about getting a new 4Runner for about a year now but with the current engine options they fixed that. I no longer want one.
U can tell they are aiming for Bronco fans. The engine bay is just as much of a disheveled mess.
New 4 turbo are to much money old 4 runner proven bulletproof I never buy first year new model no thanks 3:03
2024 interior > 2025 interior
They both look great however, the 25 is an evolution better in all departments!!!
No way lol….The 5th gen face is awesome and aggressive & will be beloved years from now when people can’t get them anymore
Changed is hard for some people..
