Taking our Narrowboat Home off the Llangollen Canal - Narrowboat Life Ep154
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 2. 03. 2023
- It's time to leave the Llangollen Canal and as we say goodbye we find out why the boating community is just amazing. We have our most scenic cruising ever and its tears as we finally get off the Canal on the most beautiful evening.
Solo boating in the dark along the canal from Grindley Brook to Wrenbury, meeting Silver Fox, Anthony feels unwell as we carry on the second leg of our narrowboat journey down to Hurleston Locks and we have help from some amazing boating people.
Paul & Anthony together with Dexter live full time, but manage to work part time, on a 57' Narrowboat, cruising the UK Canals and finding out what it's really like to be Living on a boat exploring the Nature and scenery on some of the best canals and rivers in the UK onboard a Bickerstaffe Narrowboat called Morning Star. #narrowboats #narrowboatlife #Englishnarrowboat #Labradoodle #canal #newnarrowboat #livingonaboat #tinyhome #exploringalterantives

Thanks Howard. Was great meeting you and we really appreciated the help too. We had the best time on the Llangollen. Hope you are keeping well. Take care â€ïž đ
26:51 made me tear up a little. Beautiful sunset, the music just set it perfectly, and then seeing Paul emotional just made it the perfect moment
I admit, Paul...I was tearing up with you at the end. What a stunning sunset to remember. đ§¶
It was such an amazing few weeks and we were sad to say goodbye x
Hello Anthony Paul Dexter.
Just loved the vlog this week.
That macaroni looked gorgeous.
It really brought a tear to my eye at the end.
Have a lovely week.
Look forward to next week.xx
Thanks Jayne. Glad you enjoyed: the Mac and cheese was great. đ.
It was emotional to leave the Llangollen. Take care and have a good week â€
Aww miss you guys â€ïž another fabulous video - I actually quite fancied Anthony in his headband - I must be on the turn đđŽââ ïž
Lol. Who can blame you đ
Uplifting and joyous. Pure art in video form, thanks.
Thank you David. I loved the sky at the end. Just Mother Nature at her best. Have a lovely week â€
Me too, it was spectacular.
Well done Paul; boating in the dark must be stressful.
Itâs not the easiest, but it does teach you to to get outdoors early.
Hello You Three - greetings from Poland.
Unfortunatley, all good things have to come to an end. The journey up and down "the Golly" was incredible. What a wonderful time we all had. This weeks video was superb. What beautiful colours and countryside. I hope Anthony feels better and takes his medication - I take Tertensive for the same complaint.
Thanks so much for taking me along for the ride. And thanks to those who helped you through the locks.
See you next week. Stay safe please
Hey Michael. Good things do have to come to an end but we had the best time while it lasted. Autumn was amazing. I feel much better thank you. The meds seem to be helping loads. Thank you as always for your lovely comments and support. â€
The Shropshire Union: my favourite canal! đ
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful video âŠ.. tears and all đđ». Heartfelt. Bless you x
Glad you enjoyed. It was a real mix of emotions as we left the Llangollen. Such a beautiful place. Have a good week and take care â€
Awwww that was so lovely. So picturesque. An amazing cruise. Bless you getting emotional. Totally understand at times like that. Mother natures very beautiful. Take care guys and Dexter. You made my day. Thank you â€

We had the best time ever Holly. So many good memories. Hope you have a lovely week. â€
Hi guys and lovely Dexter. Awww we felt for you so much Paul, totally get the feeling when you leave such a beautiful place with good friends â€. Glad you felt better Anthony â€ïžxxxxx

I enjoy watching your adventures and I hope Anthony is doing well and not getting sick.
Thank you, Anthony was okay thank you and thanks for watching.
Thank you lovely video. I saw my first kingfisher the other day just wonderful đ
Thanks Jules. Oh wow. We still get excited when we see one. They donât look like they should be native to the U.K. just beautiful and often elusive. Have a good week â€
New chapters and new memories are made , put the past ones in the bank for remembering fondly later â€
We had the best time Marriette. We are possibly doing the Llangollen again this winter. It was so pretty. Have a lovely week â€ïž
Very Nice. Thanks for sharing đ
Thank you Gary. Hope you are having a good week đ
đ€©đ€©đ€© fabulous thank you!! Hope Anthony is doing well, definitely winter coat week coming up đ„¶âïž onwards to spring and warm days đž
Thanks Lorna. I am doing ok thank you. Meds đ€ are doing their thing. Yeah, supposed to snow tomorrow đ„¶ and -4°. Looking forward to spring. Have a lovely week x
Great vlog guys! The Llangollen has been wonderful, but that sky as you left was just stunning!! đ Donât blame you for getting emotional đ„° See you both in May xx đ
Thanks guys. We missed you all as soon as we left. The Llangollen will always be a special place. Glad to hear you guys are sorted now. See you at Crick if not before â€
Thanks guys for taking us along on this marvellous adventure along the Llangollen canal. I hope that Anthony is doing well but should keep monitoring his blood pressure whilst on the tablets. Well done Tony and Howard for getting you through all those locks. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hey Stevie. I try and monitor my BP a couple of times a week: was quite shocked when they told me I had high BP. We were so grateful for all the help. Such great guys. Have a lovely weekend â€
Hi Guys, as they say all good things have to come to an end, at least you had a memorable time. The dinner looked delicious, well done Anthony. Lovely cruise and stunning scenery. Hope Anthony is feeling better now. âŁ
Hi Cynthia glad you enjoyed the vlog. We had such a wonderful time. Anthony is doing okay thank you x
Hey Cynthia. It really did feel like the end of something good. Great scenery, great company and great memories. I have never made Mac and Cheese before or tasted it but I was pleased with the results. Hope you are having a good week. â€
I have greatly enjoyed your trip up along the golly. Best wishes to Anthony..hope he sorts out his meds soon
Thanks so much Susan. We missed it when we left but ready to do new canals. Feeling much better thanks you. Have a lovely week â€
I have thoroughly enjoyed everyoneâs winter season on the Llangollen⊠great times spent with good friendsđđđ
Thank you Lynda. We had the most amazing time. We were so sad to leave friends behind. Have a lovely week â€
Hi Anthony and Paul. It looks like you really had a great time on the Llangollen canal. You certainly had a stunning sunset that day you were traveling. Take care. Nick
Glad you enjoyed it Nick, thanks is for watching. We had the most amazing day and evening on that trip đ
Bless you Paul - happy tears show a man with a soul đ. Hope Anthony is feeling better. Until next week . . . bye for now.
Aww he was really upset to leave Jill. I am feeling loads better thank you. Hope you have a lovely weekend â€
Lovely to see how much you have enjoyed the Llangollen canal, I love that part of the world and it's been a pleasure to see it from the water through your eyes. I loved seeing how people are willing to help each other, in the times we live in it's easy to forget that most people are kind and helpful and considerate of others. It's to your credit that you take the time to show that rather than focusing just on yourselves. I hope you both had a good weekend and wish you all a good week ahead. Cheers! đâ€ïž
We absolutely loved Llangollen. You are right, it is a beautiful part of the world. We have been so lucky how people are so willing to help. It is hard to forget how kind people can be in this current climate. Have a lovely week. Hope you are keeping well. â€ïž
I hope Anthony got feel better â€ïžâđ©č
Heâs on medication but doing okay xx
Thanks Barbara. â€
Hey Anthony, I have high BP and I have the OMRON blood pressure machine so I can keep an eye on my BP from home. My GP uses the same brand. I checked it 3 times a week usually around lunchtime. Itâs worth doing regularly as it can help you know of your meds arenât having the decoded effect. Mine were recently upped and I did feel weird as it was a hit up and down. But itâs settled now xx
Thanks for the advice. I definitely need to invest in one myself. I try and do it when Iâm work as they have a BP machine there: hope you have a lovely week and look after yourself â€
What a lovely vlog. Love the way you capture the colours Paul. I feel thats what canal life is all about, everyone helping each other, and you were on the receiving end this week, such a friendly place. Have only ever seen you, Paul, do the lock gate closing with the pole, must remember to tell my brother when we are on the boat in a few weeks. Two long days cruising, pleased Anthony soon felt better. Some events/times form such good memories, and thank you for allowing us to join you. I look forward to 2024 when my brothers boat will be going to Blackwater Meadow Marina so we can follow your footsteps on the Llangollen Canal. Hope you three keep wrapped up this cold weather, take care xxx
Hey Susan, I couldnât agree more, boating is definitely about the friends and helpful people you meet. We were so grateful to Howard. The pole thing was a great way to close the gates. Hope you guys have fun on the Llangollen. It is truly beautiful. Feeling much better now thank you. We keep wondering when spring will spring lol. Been bitter and rumour is there is snow on the way đ„¶. Have a lovely evening â€
The photography this week was absolutely stunning!
Glad you enjoyed Kat. Have a lovely week â€
The Llangollen is a beautiful canal, I've walked some and boated it, but the shots with Golden hour at the end are stunning, one of the best times if day photographically. X
Thanks Louise. We absolutely loved the Llangollen and will definitely be visiting again in the future. The sky was a fabulous farewell. Hope you are having a good week. Take care â€
Thanks, lads, that was just so memorable. Those amazing views as the sun touched the trees. The swallows too. Wow. A highlight was seeing the Silver Fox again. Probably one of the most viewed narrowboats in recent years. Anthony, hope you have your health under control again. Having had a couple of TIAs appear out of the blue really changed my attitude to me health. Changed my whole diet and watching what I eat and when I eat. That Mac 'n' Cheese looked awesome but nothing that I can get my teeth around anymore. Sigh.
Guys, please look after yourselves, I just so look forward to catching up on your latest exploits.
Thank you. We had the best time on the Llangollen. We knew we were going to miss the scenery and the people. The sky on our final day was just beautiful. We didnât recognise Derek and Pauline initially. I am now on meds from my GP so fingers crossed. I know what you mean about a wake up call. Hope you are ok now. Never eaten Mac and Cheese before but it was delish. You take care and have a good week â€
Ay up me ducks.
What a lovely journey on the Llangollen you both so obviously had. Thanks for sharing some of your highlights and may I say what a wonderful, heartfelt ending to this video. Ay a wonderful weekend me owd cocka's âŽïžđđ
Hey. Glad you enjoyed. We had the best time ever and were so sad to leave such an amazing group. Hope you have a lovely weekend â€
I make Mac and cheese for my grandchildren, they reckon it's the best ! Pat on the back for Jan. Anthony yours looks really delicious đ Nice on cold day. Stay happy, and warm..
Believe it or not Jan I have never tasted it up until I made it đ . It was delish. Hope you have a good week and take care â€
Such great memories. We are between bridges 5 and 4 and will come off today. It has been an amazing time and we feel a little emotional saying goodbye to our time here like you did. Safe travels and see you in May if not before.
Hey guys. It was the best. Great canal and great company. Good luck with the rest of your travels. â€
So enjoyable, you even had me getting a tad misty eyed at the end. Llangollen Canal is certainly one not to be missed. Thank you for your first rate vlogs. Cheers.
Thank you Jane. We most certainly was sad to leave the Llangollen. I canât wait to see it again in the future on the new boat. Have a lovely weekend and take care â€
Such a great vlog. Really felt those tears, Paul, and totally relate. You did a wonderful job of sharing your experiences on this truly special little corner of the world. Something magical about the Llangollen⊠â€
Glad you liked Cherry. There definitely is something magical about the Llangollen and we will definitely be visiting again hopefully on our new boat. Hope you have a lovely week â€
Hi guys, what a magnificent time we had travelling along the Llangollen canal with you. You picked a truly spectacular time as the colours of Autumn blew us away. The sunrises and sunsets - speechless, no words can describe them. Simply take some time to watch and enjoy. Wow, so many starlings, weâve had probably close to 100 Little Corellas visit our neighbourhood each evening lately. Very very noisy but we canât help but watch their crazy antics. Hope youâre keeping well now Anthony. Happy cruising to the three of you. Laurel & Keith đ©ââ€ïžâđšđđ¶
Hey guys. We really were treated to some of the most amazing views. We loved the Llangollen and will definitely be back. The starling murmuration was fabulous to see. Something magical about watching the birds (had to google Corella đ) On meds for my BP so fingers crossed. Love to both of you and have a lovely week â€
Great vlog guys, thank you for sharing your journey, it bring back memories of when we hired a boat from Trevor basin for my son's 18th birthday last year.
Aww Jennifer I bet that was a great birthday. It is just so beautiful we were blown away. Glad you got to experience it first hand. Have a fab week and take care â€
Ah lovely vlog, I thought it was just me who got emotional when the journey ends. Keep up the great work âźïž
Thanks Crichie glad you enjoyed the vlog. Thanks for watching đ
Thanks Crichie. Hope you are still abroad and escaping the snow. Having said that, the sun is out today and it feels like spring is definitely in the air. đ
Aww guys, this was so lovely. Amazing scenery and so touching to see how the Llangollen deeply touched your hearts. So sorry you had an episode of feeling poorly, Anthony; hope it was soon sorted and you're fighting fit in present day. xxx đ
Thanks Debbie. The scenery was amazing. We absolutely loved our time on the Llangollen and was definitely sad to leave. Have been on BP meds so fingers crossed they will do the trick. Have a lovely week and take care â€ïž
That was so lovely! Hope you weren't too poorly Anthony! Xx
Thanks Carole. I was out on meds for high BP. Have a lovely week â€
Bless you both, a fantastic vlog. Paul, you did a beautiful picture of our beloved George and we hope to say hello at Crick. You won't know us but over the last months we have got to know and appreciate you both. Very best wishes
Love watching Paul create his artwork. Seeing the pets come to life on the page is incredible and I am glad you like yours. Be great to see you at Crick. It is fabulous being able to put faces to names we see on here. Have a lovely week â€
I hope you will be ok love you 2
Thank you Gillian â€ïž
Hi guys, We did tell you how beautiful it is up there. Yes it does pull at the heartstrings.
You did indeed Mark. We absolutely loved it and was really sad to leave. Love to you and Julie. Hop she had a good birthday â€
@Anthony Smith-Storey thanks Julie has had a lovely time over here birthday. She has been spoiled đ.we are up at Parbold. A few days off works, so making the most of it. My main holiday falls when you are at the boat show, so we might not make it depending on where we end up on our boat. đđ mybe Llangollen đâ„ïž
Thanks guys for taking us along on your travels,I find your journeys so relaxing and a joy to watch. Cheers to you both +Dexter. đ¶đ
Thank you for coming with us Stan. Glad you enjoy the travels. Have a lovely evening and take care â€
Hi guys, what wonderful scenery you captured in this video Paul. I was felt envious watching as I would have liked to have been there myself, it is why I enjoyed hiking in the mountains, you cannot beat the perfect light out in nature we all miss when working in offices or commuting all the time when it happens. West England looks great in Autumn with the colourful leaves.
It takes volunteers like Howard to go above and beyond with their duties, he was a great to help you Paul.
BTW Paul, I have been emotional leaving a holiday I have enjoyed in the past, and was really emotional when I left my farm in the Eastern Cape I loved so much. Been emotional means that the experience really meant a lot to you, and that is good, perhaps you will be back soon to enjoy again, and that time it will be a different experience with new memories to make.
Keep on floating and thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Cannot wait though to see the new boat.
Hey Bruce, it really was a stunning day made all the more special by help from Howard. It felt like the end of something leaving the Llangollen where we left so many lovely friends. As you said, you experienced the same emotions when you leave somewhere you love. Thanks for wanting to share in our travels. Have a lovely weekend â€
The light (a few other things too) is why I took up photography. If you can master light upu can become any type artist you desire. It touches you inside...
Absolutely. I know Paul has a good eye for both photography and his art. He always says light is the key. â€ïž
So, so beautiful! The sky, the trees, everything! Thanks so much for braving all that cold to share this with us! Bonnie in AZ
Glad you enjoyed Bonnie. We loved the Llangollen and all it had to offer. Happy Saturday to you and take care â€
Paul, Anthony and Dexter thank you for sharing your journey with us, such a wonderful experience. Wishing you health and safe travels
Thank you Ginger. We loved the sky as we came off the Llangollen. Just a perfect end. Hope you have a good weekend â€
That bit at the end with the sunset, the boat, and the scenery with the music was simply stunning. The friendliness of all the people like Howard along the canal is heartwarming. On another note, I hope Anthony's blood pressure is ok! And how cool to see Silver Fox (I'm now off to watch Colin and Shaun in the Scottish highlandsđ). Take care, guys, and have a wonderful week.
Hey James. Glad you enjoyed the sunset etc. it was amazing that evening and a fitting farewell to the Llangollen. I am feeling much better thank you. Happy Saturday to you. Take care â€
I shared a tear with you Paul, happy ones of course â€ïž Glad you enjoyed your adventure on the Llangollen, take care xx
It was so sad to leave all our friends. But the parting sky was just beautiful. Have a lovely week and take care â€
Nice having help on some of the locks. I wouldn't have fancied aiming for that bridge on the dark . Some lovely scenery as usual and a little sunshine.
It really was Carol. We are so humbled by the lovely people we meet. The sunset was stunning as we came off the Llangollen. Just perfect. Hope you have a lovely weekend â€
Loved this vlog guys, your Llangollen journey has been beautiful. Looking forward to your travels as spring approaches and the new boat build. đ Thanks guys, take care!.
Thanks Wayne. As you can see we were so gutted to leave. Canât wait for spring now and definitely canât wait for the new boat. Have a lovely week and take care â€
Hey Guys - What a lovely video this week! I especially loved the BEAUTIFUL lighting at the end. It's wonderful to have had such assistance through the locks. I had not heard the term "volley lockies" before - loved it! You will definitely have to revisit the Llongollan in the NEW boat!! Super anxious to hear/see how the build is going! Have a great weekend! Sending you & sweet Dexter love & hugs! â€đâ€
Hey Kathy. We had the best time and was so sad to leave everyone behind. Howard was a star. Such a nice bloke too. We really will have to visit the Llangollen on the new boat. Canât wait. Shouldnât be long now. Time is flying this year. Have a lovely weekend. Love from us all. â€
It is such a beautiful feeling and so relaxing on a narrowboat. We've only hired boats, but it is so relaxing after working long, erratic, stressful shifts on an Ambulance.
It really is Dave. Definitely nourishes the soul. I feel your pain in the job you do. I donât miss doing nights in AED X-ray. The shiftâs definitely are erratic and stressful. Take care â€
Hope u are feeling better Anthony âșïž love the video guys âșïž
I have been put on meds for my BP so fingers crossed Robert. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. Thanks again for the well wishes and take care â€
Hi guys and Dexter, I agree with you Paul, the LLangollen does make you feel emotional when leaving it, it was my fav canal. Hope you are feeling better Anthony, Have a great weekend, can't wait to see you next week. x
Aww it really was a sad day Debbie. Definitely one of my favourite canals too. Feeling loads better thank you. See you next week and have a lovely weekend â€
Go up that canal in August you'll be crying for another reason đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
đ. Trust you â€
Such a beautiful video and what an amazing journey. It's sad when something nice comes to a close, but you've so many journeys ahead of you.
It's nice that you've met so many kind people. It warms the heart.
I hope Anthony feels better. Edit: Oh good, I just read in another comment that he's on the mend - Also, your cooking looks delicious.
Thank you so much for sharing. All the best!
Hey Rob. Thank you. We loved our time on the Llangollen. We were sad to leave such good friends behind but definitely got more adventures planned. People are generous with their time we feel blessed.
I am on BP meds now so fingers crossed they will do the trick. The Mac and cheese was lovely đ. Thanks for coming along with us: have a good weekend â€
Love the vlog as always you captured the sun going down it was just stunning. Sorry you didnât feel good Anthony hope youâre doing good now. Nice to have help from Howard on the locks and even shared your Mac and cheese which looked yummy. Donât be sad Paul Iâm sure youâll go back again on the Golly and just think youâll be on the new boat †take care you two and Dexter đ„°
Thank you Judith. The lighting was amazing. Just perfect for our last leg of the Llangollen. Feeling loads better thank you. Howard was a star. Canât believe he contacted us and said he would help. Definitely will visit again on the new boat. Canât wait. Have a lovely evening and take care â€
This was a feast for the nature lover! Iâm a light lover myself also, I could spend hours just watching the patterns change among the trees, or reflect one the water. Anthony looking very trendy! Handsome as always.
And that mac and cheese looked delish.đ yâall meet so many really kind people on the canalsâ€â€.
Now Paul you made me cry too saying goodbye to Llangollan. Thank you for sharing your journeyâ€â€. Blessed week ahead for you all.
Hey Dawn. The light was stunning that evening, a great farewell to us from the Llangollen. We really do meet some lovely people.
Never tried Mac and Cheese until then đ. Was very tasty.
Paul was very emotional re leaving the Llangollen. I think it is because we had such a fabulous few weeks. Hope you have a lovely weekend and love to you and your family â€
Hi Paul, Anthony & Dexter, the views at the top of Hurleston Locks were amazing. Thank you for sharing. We are always sad to leave the Llangollen Canal, it's such a beautiful place. Take care, Bryan & Donna
Hey guys. Hope you are both good. We loved the Llangollen. The views were stunning. Miss it already. Have a good weekend â€
Your so lucky to live on the canal network - with the changing of the seasons and the colours on the trees
We do feel lucky David. We love that we see the little signs of the change of season. Hope you have a good weekend â€
another great video, hope Anthony is feeling better now, nice of people to help with locks..
Thanks so much Simon. Feeling much better now. Have a lovely weekend â€
Anthony, you are precious, please take care. Silly of me to say as I know you know what youâre doing being a medical professional. I think itâs kind of a Mom reaction. Paul you look so worried. Such a wonderful Vlog, thank you.
Aww thanks you I was quite worried as I have no idea why my BP is high. Thankfully on meds now so đ€. Grateful for your concern. Have a lovely weekend. â€
Beautiful landscape, beautiful people đđ»đŠđșđđ»
Thank you Kate. Thatâs really kind. Hope you have a lovely weekend â€
Getting leafy now with the winter getting near .
Autumn is my favourite season đ
Beautiful scenery, and that amazing sky towards the end of the vlog - wow!
Thanks Paul. We were both very sad to leave â€
Great thanks chaps ! Great Mac n cheese ....and wonderful autumnal colours
Cheers Adrian. The Mac and Cheese tasted amazing (first time trying it). Have a lovely Saturday â€
Lovely series of Vlogs whilst you've been on the Golly. You saved the best till last although it was horrid to see you feeling unwell Anthony even after you said you were better you didn't look it. Thank you guys for sharing the cruise with me. Love to all three of you. â€Stephen.
We had the most amazing time Stephen. So sad to leave all those friends behind. The farewell sky was perfect. Icing on the cake for what was a lovely season. Feeling loads better thank you Stephen. It had me worried it hopefully the meds are working. Supposed to be a cold snap next week with potential snow so keep safe and warm. Have a lovely weekend â€
Those images with the wonderful light towards the end were amazing. You started the Vlog with Tony helping you and then came Howard! What great people you encounter and how they are drawn to help you. I hope and pray that Anthony is feeling better and that the meds leveled off. I chuckled when I heard you talking about the price of the coal and Anthony trying to get you to stop without being obvious. I guess that didnât go well. ButâŠ.of all the people that you have met on the cut the poor Marina man is probably the only one who has been upset with you and all over a misunderstanding. Hopefully he will watch this. đ
I am so glad that you both had such a great time on the Llangollen, and were able to share it with such great friends. Those memories will last forever, and I believe you will all catch up again and add even more boaters to your extended family on the canals. Sending you both, and of course Dexter, lots of love and hugs. â€ïžđ€â€ïžđ€â€ïžđŸ Kathy
Hey Kathy. We had the most amazing time which is why it was so difficult to leave. We really have met some fabulous people and the help was so much appropriated.
I told Paul it served him right đ. I had to go back and collect the laundry as Paul was too embarrassed. đ Definitely made some treasured memories. We will most certainly be back. Hear is to friends and making more memories â€. Take care â€
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 people gravitate to people, like yourself and Paul, because you are kind, loving, thoughtful and fun! You have made forever friends. Thatâs hysterical about the laundry. â€ïž
@@ruaidhrikathygill8833 thanks Kathy. We really are blessed by the people we have met. đ
My goodness, the colours were glorious this week, Paul!
Anthony, hope your body's adjusted to the meds - my doctor changed one of my meds late last year and I was scratching away for a whole month as a result, and my physiotherapist asked if I'd adopted a cat when she saw the marks!
The mac and cheese looked lovely, could you share the recipe with us?
Also, I reckon the next time there's a chance of a repeat of The Coal Price Incident, you could try yelling, "SQUIRREL!" at Paul hahaha
I think you three have successfully trained me to think of cake and coffee whenever I watch your vlogs because I'm now feeling peckish and am going to make myself a cup of tea!
Hope all is well and have a fantastic week xxx
The colours were a real treat. Absolutely gorgeous. Feeling much better thank you. Scary isnât it getting an allergic reaction to meds.
Never had Mac and Cheese before đ. It was lovely.
Good idea re the coal! It was so embarrassing.
The coffee and cake thing is like Pavlovâs Dog response đ.
Here is the recipe I used.
Hope you enjoy

Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Spread the baguette chunks over a baking sheet, drizzle with the melted butter and season. Bake for 6 mins until crisp, then set aside.
Boil the pasta for 2 mins less than stated on the pack, then drain. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the garlic and English mustard powder, cook for 1 min, then stir in the plain flour.
Cook for 1 min more, then gradually whisk in the milk until you have a lump-free sauce. Simmer for 5 mins, whisking all the time until thickened. Take off the heat, then stir in the cheddar and half the parmesan.
Stir the pasta and some seasoning into the cheesy sauce. Tip into a large ovenproof dish, or four individual dishes.
Scatter over the bread and the remaining parmesan, then bake for 20 mins until crisp and golden. Can be frozen before baking - defrost thoroughly before cooking.
Notes:
USE UP BLUE CHEESE
Crumble 50g stilton, dolcelatte or roquefort into the sauce, instead of the parmesan. Spoon the pasta into the dish, then top with 4 trimmed field mushrooms, gills facing upwards, instead of the crumbs. Drizzle with a little oil, season, then top with a little more blue cheese. Bake as before.

Nice work on the Mac & Cheese not a dish I have ever acquired a taste for but I would happily devour some of that :)
And Paul, nice work on maneuvering the locks. Definitely out of my league.
Great background music and scenery but we do need more Dexter.
Thank you for all the time and work put into filming and editing to share your adventures with us.

Gosh, you had me worried with that "ends in tears" title! I was wondering about Dexter, as he's an older gent. Then Anthony felt ill. Rather anxious watching the rest of the video to make sure everyone was okay. Not to criticize! Cripes, it's so sappy how emotional I can get. Just one little thing can set me off sometimes. So I do understand when you've had a lovely experience and get teary. Thanks for sharing your lovely experience with the rest of us. đ
You werenât the only one Debba sorry. One of our friends said they thought something had happened to me! It was sad leaving everyone behind. Felt like we had been with them for ages. Paul definitely more emotional than me. Glad you enjoyed. Have a lovely weekend â€

Hi all, great vlog as usual. Lovely trip on the canal and Paul doing well now on his own. He was emotional at the end, and like you say, it's the company and the life on the canal. Seems to be doing you both good. Take it easy, Anthony.
Take care and have a good weekend. x
Hey Bill. Glad you enjoyed. We really were sad to leave all the lovely people we had been with for weeks. We just love the boating lifestyle. Hope you guys are having a good weekend. Take care â€
