- (14 Aug 1977) For the first time members of the Public see behind the scenes at the world famous Pinewood Studios. For two days they were allowed to walk around the Studios and the money raised was for the Cinema Trade Benevolent Fund. ® On view were many costumes and 'props' used in films made at Pinewood. Visitors were also able to see the huge set which was constructed for the last 'Bond' film. Movietone were able to film on the set during production and we see the stars Roger Moore and Barbara Bach during the shooting of a scene. ® The Wombles, at present filming at Pinewood under the Direction of Lionel Jeffries, made personal appearances and delighted many by signing autographs.

Great 👍
I remember going on the open day, the bond set had been struck before the open day and the polar set for Superman was almost finished on the 007 stage. It was a fabulous day :-)
yes it was i live near the studios
Bond, Bach and Broccoli, now that was a recipe! 🏆🎬
I was there!
I worked on 4 Films made at Pinewood, in the 1980;s and it was such fun, (exclusive photos) of 2 Films made there (THE LAST DAYS OF POMPEII) & (SUPERGIRL) are on my YT channel, showing the back lot "sets", if any film fans are interested in seeing them, which I took on a day off Acting on the Pompeii Production. in 1984, 7 years after this Movietone film was made, A great Studios with The best technical staff , and a joy to work with.
Lionel Jeffries reminds me so much of my late grandad ❤️
Wow, I wish I could have gone!
What a little gem 👍
Heard that during the fantasy film "Legend"(1984) starring a young Tom Cruise and Tim Curry, that Pinewood Studios suffered a massive fire and was therefore rebuilt so to speak. It was mentioned on the special edition DVD 📀 of the film 🎥. (Natalie)
I was at that event! My parents took me there when I was 6. My sister and me sat in one of the cars from Bugsy Malone.
chris i was there to i was 14 at the time and i ended up working there when leaving school in 79
Oh really? Cool!
Can you remember what they had there? I remember seeing the set where they filmed the ice scenes in Superman (I think it was being disassembled at the time), but I can't remember much else. I think there was a pirate ship or some sort of boat there?
