Unbelievable. Create a life long customer instead of teaching/inspiring society how to lose weight and be healthy.

US obesity rates have been rising for *over 40 years* now.
So, *when* exactly were we going to teach ppl to be healthy, and how? 🤔
It’s not unbelievable at all that ppl would turn to the first truly effective medications to come along. The diet and fitness industries have failed to even make a dent in the problem… and they’ve been failing for a very long time now. 🤷‍♂️
(The real secret? These medications PLUS lifestyle changes are a very effective approach.)

Obesity is a disease. These people know how to be healthy. There bodies don’t respond the same way to lifestyle changes and when they do it’s usually gained back and not sustainable. These medications helps what is metabolically wrong.

"Batiatric surgery is not a silver bullet." Agreed, however, medication for weight loss isn't a silver bullet either. It still costs money and takes necessary drugs away from people who actually need this, like diabetics. What is the silver bullet is diet and exercise. Not some half assed diet and exercise with 'cheat days', but actual diet and exercise wherein the patient follows a strict regiment. I don't care what you say about diet not working. The human body can't gain weight by not consuming weight.

Not my problem. Diabetics just need to put down the fork and change their diet and exercise to manage their illness. There's no way diabetics will sustain an elevated blood glucose level if they eat normal and healthy meals.

Works for most people & can save them from bariatric surgery and can resolve other conditions. Diet & exercise is not feasible for most people even though it can work, but it's even more difficult to sustain. Glp1s are the future!

I am absolutely positively sure it can be frustrating, but stop eating all the time folks! 🍖 🍗
I started interval fasting. You eat only one balanced meal a day. After a week, your body will adjust and there is barely any feeling of hunger left any longer during the day until you have your supper meal (in my case). Also no cost or any side effects involved, you actually might just start feeling better. Your body is smarter than you.
Eight pounds gone so far, in two months. Needs patience and perseverance though - not a virtue of today’s society.
About cost: A tragedy caused by the big pharma mafia if a medication is actually needed, but this one?

Human nature is simply not like that, if it were people would think before they ate to much food.
Most people will pay for the GLP 1 drugs not because they are cheap but because one injection per week is such an easy cure. This is a big reason for their success its jab and forget.

@@andypicken7848Well said. I worked pretty much my whole life in diabetes, subcutaneous glucose sensor, Medical Devices.
Diabetes is a tricky and evil disease, if not controlled and managed well. And that is exactly those patients, this great
drug should be reserved for. Now it got so bad, that some patients who actually need it, end up on a waiting list while
others grab it in order to do easy (lazy) weight control management - a crazy world it is.
