This episode is excellent in multiple levels. I think that in 3dsmax it has a design flaw. The user should assign properties to the surfaces in the material editor, lights and cameras and depending on which render engine is selected, it should automatically change the properties according to the selected render method.
Now if the user builds the models and uses "some render engine" materials, it is too tedious to change all parts of the model to other materials, lights or cam settings just because a different render method is used.

You don't have to use corona camera and vray camera for different engines. I just use default physical camera., Default photometric lights work with both engines. Also, you can use default physical material and render with vray or corona or arnold or ART, whatever. u just need to use the maps dedicated to the engine. For procedural materials. For normal PBR, u can use the default physical materials with default max bitmap. Ofcourse if you want to use ACES you need to use dedicated bitmaps..
The future Material X format will unite every software and render engines. Right now. Only USD can do it

the reason i use vray because of cryptomatte and masking in vfb..
and i think its faster in rendering and denoising
but it seems corona done the job well in showing details

V-Ray is dead for Arch Vis, I would never go back, in fact I would take Fstorm over V-ray. Corona is king.

@@superfluido.productions They are pretty much the same it's all about how you execute in these programs. One may be faster at a certain thing but you'll get pretty much the same results.

It's upto the user's needs, unbiased renderers are obviously easy to use . And, It's more like corona 9.1,9.2... they just go to the next number every 6-8 months.

Personally, I think Corona's engine is so much better in so many ways, but the UI is just too convoluted.
