    I remember cackling with delight when they would sign off so damn quick because, after asking me graphic sexual questions, I would say "I am a 30 year old man and the police are on the way."

    Forget online chat rooms, these agents ought to check out the chat rooms in phone games! True they can't send photos, but I've seen some questionable game profile pics and lots of creepers fishing for personal info and sending lewd messages. And they do NOT care if you're a child or not. Most times if they even slightly suspect you may be a child, they get even more aggressive and super graphic! It's gross!

    • @deltasaves

      I am a moderator on a large Q&A forum/ social platform, and the groups and profiles I see is disgusting. It's never ending work for removing the groups as they often move things to private groups and off the platform, but solicit from the forum itself.
      Many of these "users" post elsewhere, including I have found one instance of this person posting their real name and location, finding they have been in trouble for endangerment (to put it in Susan-friendly terms). It's almost impossible to get rid of them because they just make another profile and hide better on places like TikTok and these social games online. With kids getting smartphones earlier and earlier, we must be aware of these spaces to help keep the young people in our lives safe from these monsters.

It's definitely important to pay attention to what your children are doing online, since that's where they spend a lot of their time these days. I one time had my son come to me when he was about 10 because some guy in a game he was playing kept asking him to send him feet pics. Like, WTF dude?! Good parenting could really help fix the problem of internet predators too. Too many parents just give their kids a screen to look at with access to the internet. They don’t monitor what their kids look at online or who they talk to, as long as the kid stays quiet and doesn’t act out. If parents took a more active role in raising their children instead of letting the internet have waaaaay more influence on their children then it should, kids wouldn’t be so open to communication with these predators to begin with. I won’t pretend I had the best childhood, but one thing my parents did right in my mind is not allow me to have a cell phone until I was a senior in high school and only having one computer in the house with internet access that was in the living room right where anyone could see what you were doing online.

    I don't understand entrapment in cases of possible grooming or child abuse. If the minor fails to reveal their age prior to talking sexually with an adult, I understand the adult is not at fault. But in case they approach them to talk but said that they are underage, and the adult talks sexually or if the adult continues to talk sexually to a minor who initiates a conversation that seems sexual, how can it be entrapment because they were well aware of what they were doing and that the other person is a minor. So, why would it be entrapment if a law officer faking to be a minor initially approaches someone?

    • @ViolentAurora
      @ViolentAurora Pƙed 2 lety +19

      It can be argued that if they approach someone, and they commit the crime, that they committed that crime when they otherwise would not have if not approached. It's just how the law works because it's covering all crime.
      But socially and ethically, we know they're going to talk to minors and it shouldn't matter if an adult is approached by a child or not.

    • @StoicVeR
      @StoicVeR Pƙed 2 lety +7

      Basically, the law officers are trained in an etiquette where they never approach the criminal/predator. They have the decoy, which presents as young girl or boy (minor). Then, the men or women approach, specifically to engage the minor for sexual and explicit interactions - this right here isn't technically 'illegal', though society and culture in general will frown on it, and you are not supposed to do that by law anyway. In this scenario, the decoy interacts with the predator, but really only reacts to whatever the predator gives to the decoy - the decoy doesn't ask for anything. The predator will always lead the conversation, because they are the predator and they are seeking explicit content or interactions from the decoy - which is very illegal. Then, in this situation the interactions escalate, depending on the predators vulgarity and interests - they send nudes and describe pornographic interactions/intercourse, and send pornography to what has been declared as a minor. The decoy and the predator will banter back and forth about the age of decoy (very important for legal actions) - in this situation, you cannot roleplay (or the predator cannot pretend they are in a roleplay), since the location where the interactions are taking place go on good faith the two interacting are who they say they are; ie., a minor in the teens, and an adult. The predator would not be on a 'roleplay' site anyway, because what they are looking for is a legit and actual interactions with a minor - because they are a predator. This is all essential for evidence in a courtroom. If the officer approached the predator, then this case wouldn't hold up in court. Everything the predator does to incriminate his or her self has to be of their own free will, and with intent to do harm to a minor - either subjecting them to nudes, pornographic materials, and the ever popular showing up to the 'minors' house when the parents are not in, to do.... stuff. A lot of these cases can be argued or shaved down in a courtroom, but there is usually the intent to get these people listed as a "Sexual predator of Minors", so that is on their record. This isn't necessarily to ruin that persons life, but it does factor in to where they can purchase a home and places which they can visit - such as buying a house near a school, visiting a park, enterting certain areas where families with children will frequent.

    this looks like it's from the late 90's. I was a 16-18 yr old teenage girl on AOL at the time, and creeps would do location searches, and IM every female they found. Can't tell you how many times I'd get IM'd asking if I was down. Like, ew. no! Didn't need to be in a chat room.

    I don't think that'd be an awkward workspace I think they would just be sitting there making fun of the people laughing back-and-forth amongst themselves at the people who would do that type of stuff

    You're assuming a preditor would be smart enough to capitalize on that info in first place. Doubtful.

    8:50 - Deleted files are "marked" so they can be replaced. Unless you install something or do a lot of work on the computer to take up that previous space, then yes, your deleted files can be recovered allthough not completely. If they want to recoved deleted photos, they will most likely get "broken" versions with missing pixels etc because some parts were already replaced by other data (but most likely still able to see what the picture was).

      And they fail to say, SSD's have no sectors and normally are securely erased. I only know this because as PCI-DSS law, credit card / customer information needs to be shredded and discarded if equipment is discontinued.

      @@BLODSWIPER Not going to lie, but data can still be recovered even if its bit by bit. SSDs just make it harder by nature for many people.

    I love these two men. It would be amazing if Ken, Buff, and maybe Luke too, did a video like this one but updated. Give people the comfort they've hoped for (or deterrence [that's right, I'm talking to you, Jeffrey]). It would also be good to show how much foreign countries and America alike have been taking this much more seriously, what with society, precarious times, and technology evolving so rapidly. I can't remember if it was the Netherlands or another Scandinavian country, but probably a few of them have put tons of government resources into fighting just these such crimes against children that you guys have been covering in this and related videos. People like them should be showcased for their honorable efforts.
