Just got 350Db, they are great! With bass and everything just waiting for 1800s now.
Thanks for your work!
Thanks for this channel I decided to go with the S350db and I'm really happy. Sound quality is really good, bass is perfect and the treble and bass adjustments are really nice. No regrets!
After one year, please told us your opinion about S350DB. I want to buy and I need an advice. Thank you.
@@romaniapetros It is still my favourite speakers ever. I'm not disappointed at all. Sound quality and adjustments are simply amazing.
My only complain is how the cables are short. Not too short, but short. It is enough for a PC configuration. But could be a bit longer for better setup.
@@MauroRibeiro0x52 Thank you for your opinion. I will choose S360DB because has the subwoofer wireless and it's a newest tehnology.
@@romaniapetros so what is your experience? I've ordered mine just know, was a real hard choice for me
Imma try to snipe one on black Friday depending on price
Had an Edifier M3400 for 8 years, loved it but it died earlier this year, went for a R1100, pretty good but couldn't test properly side-to-side since the M3400 was gone, missed the bass a lot after a while though.
Decided to get a reconditioned XM6BT, satellites would buzz whenever i increased bass past 15% or so, ended up returning it and got a coupon from Edifier, went for the S350DB now and hopefully it'll be an upgrade to the R1100 not only in bass but mid/highs as well, bit smaller satellites will be nice since i have limited space as well, wish they had covers/grills though, will update when they arrive (if i don't forget), sadly not many speaker options around here
Thank you for all your help. The Edifier R1700BT have changed my world! I dont think I will rush to go and buy Sony, Onkyo or KEF in the future
Seriously ? How do you compare this speaker with kef? Anyway edifier sound is great with this price
@@kanninacbb3241 Simple. I go on bang for buck. If i compare what my ears are hearing and what my pocket is paying, the Edifier do just fine. If i stuck to my guns on brand and reputation I would of never purchased the Edifier R1700BT

@@codringlide6493 R1700BT are very loud ,but I don't like the sound quality and still love my S350DB. better pay a bit more and get S350DB or S360DB
Hey! I'm interested in your opinion. Which one do you prefer?
Could you do a comparison of the S350db vs the S2000Pro and S3000Pro ?
I would love to see you compare the Totem Kin Play, if you can get a pair, with some of the other near $1000 offerings like the Edifier AirPulse A100's and the favourably reviewed KEF LSX's. I just heard the Totem's in store in a less than ideal set up. The speakers were only separated by about 3 feet and a placed a foot above ear level, but I was impressed nonetheless. They had good imaging and soundstage with nice clarity and dynamics. The only pause I had was with heavily overdriven guitar work from bands like Tool, Greenleaf and even some of the lead solo guitars from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Especially In Michigan". The latter sounded a tad harsh to my ears, I suspect from the use of metal dome tweeters. The KEF LSX's, which I also recently demoed, seemed even less tolerant in the area of heavy overdriven guitars, losing cohesion and sounding harsh in the mid and upper registers, while the Totem's seemed to just have a different way of wanting reproducing these more aggressive tracks without much of the harshness, though I cannot put my finger on it at the moment. Other non-metal/hard rock genres sounded excellent on both for my tastes with the KEF having better attack and presence in the lower mids, while the Totems created a better soundstage. I feel many people would want a subwoofer for both sets of speakers. I listened to these in different rooms at different stores, so not a true A/B comparison.
This is a fantastic channel; invaluable and sometimes maddening in assisting with purchases of this type. I own a set of Kanto Yumi's, which I enjoy, but I am looking to upgrade my dedicated 2.0 music listening space. FYI, Kanto is also releasing a new flagship model soon for $799 USD I believe; named: Tuk. The specs look promising for this price point.
It is an exciting time that more and more manufacturers are beginning to take this more budget friendly (relative term I know) segment into account when producing genuine high quality powered and active consumer speakers. I think of the AIWA stereo that I bought from Costco 20 years ago for $500 that I saved up for by shovelling driveways compared to what you can get today at the same price point. I hope the more manufactures get into this market, the more high quality options consumers will have while competition pushes innovation.
Thank you for your videos and reviews! I look forward to more of them.

I just got the R1700BT and can verify they are fantastic, no need for a sub woofer. Fill a room easily, and solid build.
@Ash - They dont have an optical in, but you can just press the 'Line In' on the remote, plugging the RCA cable into audio outputs on the TV - to speakers rca inputs.

i bought the r1700 bt during the 11.11 sales for like only 70 ish usd (with shipping). I live in Singapore. Of course I read and write chinese so I could navigate buying directly from edifier. Holy shit they sound ridiculously insane for 70 USD lmfao.
thank you so much to your channel for the recommendation, my ears are really sensitive but I don't always think higher price = better stuff.
i have watched many of your videos showcasing the r1700 bt comparisons. i finally decided on them because of how cheap they were.
the S350 + shipping (they're like a 16 kg pack) would cost me about 190 usd, but they dont' sound 2-2.5x better than the r1700bt so.... easy decision hahahaha
once again thanks!!!!
Does the 1700 distort at max volume with the bass knob maxed out? Will it distort at max volume with bass at 0? TIA

I own the s350db and is linked to Cambridge Audio CXA. So far I think it sounds better in real life then in this video (i'm listening on PXC 550 headphones). First impression was that is not so bass-heavy as told on this channel in more comments. In this comparison S350db wins from my point of view. I'm a listener, not a mixer, DJ or professional in any way related to music indutry.

Please do S350DB vs S351DB. Much appreciation to your work.
You're are hopring to "hear" colour?
Lack of bass pretty obvious on the R1700BT but they still sound good for their price.
Ordered the S351DB thanx to your videos amongst others', it's pretty much the same except it's all black, the remote is more ergonomic and the frequency tipping point between the sub and the satellites is 160hz instead of 200hz on the S350DB. They gonna replace a 15 years old Logitech Z5500 5.1 that still works.

Hi ! I'm interested in buying the S350DB speakers... could you tell me if it has a jack plug ? To me, no jack plug would be kind of a deal-breaker, and I don't see one in the pictures, but I can't believe it... thanks !
Jack plug for what? In case of headphones, no jack. Line in inputs are rca but you can decide what's on the other end :)
It doesn't have a jack socket but can be plugged into a jack 3.5mm with the rca > mini jack cable included.

Would I be better off getting the edifier r1850db and attaching a subwoofer or should I just get the s350db
Am contemplating this myself atm. Based on what Digital Stereophony and other commentators have said in other videos, an R1850db paired with a good 10"-12" subwoofer would blow the S350db out of the water. That being said, you have to pay a bit more to get better sound.
I was thinking about the r1850db with the edifier t5 subwoofer costs about the same from the site. Any suggestions or recommendations?
For anyone looking at this more recently, there is now a 1700BTs model that includes a subwoofer out. At retail price it only costs $10 more than then 1700BT, and also has some other newer features like bluetooth 5.0 and a "soundfield spacializer". Definitely worth considering.

Both are great speakers but S350db takes the win balanced and nice bass. Maybe a S350db Vs Fluance Ai60s would be a great comparison.

It's an easy choice. In terms of sound quality the Edifier will absolutely blow them out of the water. There isn't even a comparison there. What it comes down to is whether you want surround sound, or stereo with much better sound quality
Thank you

If your wanting super deep bass. Your going to need something more powerful than 75 watts
@@rpgfeatures793 and that is why I bought the 1700BTs and 1855DB. 2850DB is next. Ugly as sin though but sound over form anytime anyday.
@@AbsoluteFidelity are you happy with them?
@@rpgfeatures793 the soundstage of the 1700 and 1855 is HUGE... I mean really huge. So spacious, like the band is playing in a large hall. Without a sub they lack the slam as expected, with a sub they sound like floorstanders! Many say they are nearfield speakers, they work great in my 6 meters x 8 meters room while sitting 4 meters away, with a sub of course. The 1700 and 1855 are known for quite a bright treble, which is a darn good thing especially when coupling with a sub. There is a a vid of the 1700 (with a sub) and 1855 on my channel, was running them on a low volume back then. The 1855 is definitely the better among the 2, with an even wider soundstage and more accurate mids and highs. Many say they sound alike, the dont when they are side by side. The R series is awesome for having a sub out. Wished the S series had the same. Goin to order the R2850DB soon because my country is one of the few that sells them.
Having the R1850DB, I recognize the sharp, harsh and unpleasant sounding treble of the R1700's. Mids and treble on the S350 are way better.
If anything the R1700BT sounds a bit boomy for me. Not at all too sharp with the treble
Am I the only one who sees a logitech z623 in the breakbeat bass original track? 3:33
1:37 too
The r1700bt has less mids compared with the the s350db and as well as with the original sound track. Is it just me?
The 1700 has less lower mids, which will make male vocals appear reccessed but will sound great with female vocals.
You're correct, R1700 has muddy mids and nasty sharp top end/treble. S350 has better mids and better tweeter with way more detail
I'm using R1700bts for several months, the recessed mid & the harsh treble is killing me. I'm looking for alternatives right now.

Wait wait wait... I have the R1700BT, and they have much more bass than this video make them sound like. Almost if the highs where turn all the way up and the bass down.
It's obvious that speakers featured on a video, wherever that may be posted, won't ever represent how the speakers really sound like in real life. These videos are useful to a point, meaning that you get to compare SOME of the general characteristics of a given speaker, but taking this video as an example, if you hear more bass on the s350db, IRL it will have more bass as well when compared to the r1700bt.
Stephane Tanguay Thanks for your comment from your actual experience. I have heard the R1700BT on many other channels and, like you said, they sound much fuller with warm and powerful bass. It definitely sounds like he had the treble turned too high and the bass too low during this video and a couple of others. I just ordered a pair and can't wait to hear them! Thanks again! 😊
@@StrangerInParadise58 so, did they arrive? What are your thoughts about them? Was it worth it?
Kyuubi Yes, they did and I have had them hooked up for a couple of weeks now. I absolutely love them! I leave the tone controls in pretty much the mid position and they sound fantastic. Their soundstage and imaging are very impressive! While working at my desk the soundstage makes the speakers just disappear and it sounds like the artist is performing and singing near the back of my desk. These really transform the listening experience at my desk, and I was using a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 desktop system prior. The Klipsch is phenomenal with bass because of the subwoofer, but the Edifiers are much more real and clean sounding. The bass is great, very articulate and fast. I had heard that they could sound boomy on a desktop, so, I did place them on the following desktop speaker isolation pads from Amazon: XL-Pro Studio Monitor Isolation Pads for 3" - 4" Inch Speakers, Pair of Two | Audiophile High Density Acoustic Dampening Stands for Most Small Speakers by RightChoice. I think they really help to keep the bass clean and articulate. They have plenty of power for near-field listening, like on my desktop. I can't use but a fraction of their power in this setting. I have no regrets purchasing these and really love them. Not to mention, the remote control just adds icing on this delicious cake! :-)
I stand by Stephanie Tanguay's original comment in this thread.
@@StrangerInParadise58 Thank you for the detailed response, I just ordered them and I'm eagerly waiting for them to arrive. I'm also going to take a look at the stands that you mentioned.
