I used this video to guide me while I replaced my blend door motor. It was blowing warm on the driver side and passenger was cool. I did not have to recalibrate it. It was very helpful. Thank you.
Was a tight squeeze but that finger ratchet came in clutch! I noticed the actuator I got from oreillys was the same brand as the OEM one I removed. I struggled getting that clip back in that holds the smaller module but all in all took about an hour on my Sierra. Thanks for the tips.
What if front air is not blowing out cold air is but rear is? Regarding the front controls, I noticed this: If i put it on windshield defrost the air is not cold but it's only blowing out were the windshield is, which seems correct. If I put it on the dash vents it blows out not cold air but correct vents. If I put it on feet vents it blows out no cold air but blows out the correct vents at the feet. If I put it on the feet / windshield it only blows out at the feet and the air isn't cold. No matter what I do the font vents will not blow out cold air, the back is fine. Thanks
Great video! I saw in another video that the new blend door actuator needs to be recalibrated after installed? Did you do that? If so, how do you do it without a dealer scan tool?
I have a 2015 escalade and it blows cold air from defrost and vents ..have lots of problems at night because its on windshield...could it be the vent on defrost
After replacing and putting back together are there any other necessary steps to take when starting the truck? I ask because when I changed out my alternator a couple years ago I didn’t realize that I had to let the CM system reset itself to the new part and in the process I reset the main control module and had to have it towed into dealership to get repaired.
I've done a few of these and never had to reset anything. You theoretically should disconnect the battery while replacing it, but on newer vehicles there are so many systems that get reset when you do.
I know this is old but I just replaced the blend door actuator on my 2015 and I can't get it to start now also. Replaced the battery because it was bad anyways but I get lots of service warnings for 4x4, StabilTrak, etc. No A/C, no radio, no nothing. What is the CM system? What exactly did the dealer have to do? I'm trying to avoid having to tow it in but it's seeming unlikely now.
@@teenice894little embarrassing but I ended up missing a plug in the control box under passenger side dash. I had checked a time or two but just completely missed it. Towed to dealer they plugged it back in and everything was fine.
I have this same issue, in addition the front will blow cold when i'm driving but not when i'm idling. Have you resolved yours? 17' tahoe for reference.
200 or so. Part is about 30 bucks. And probably about an hour labor. I'm not sure off hand, but I think book on labor is 5 or 6 hours. I imagine you'd be upwards of $1000 at a dealership.
It's possible it's the mode actuator. Which is a little easier to get to. Most likely would need to hook a scan tool to it to check for sure. Most of the time it's the one in the video. It's a very common problem in the 15-18 models.

I'm going to need this video...thanks for having it...
I’ve been looking for a video on this forever! Thank you! I thought it would be on the driver’s side. This is very helpful.

What is the name of the green holder for your t15 bit
It's a gimbal ratchet or a thumb wheel ratchet. They are amazing for stuff like this. These are from performance tool.
hi, I have the drivers blowing ice cold ac and pass blowing warm air, they both should be blowing warm air. would this be the same?
